...it back in March.
Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training is a 'game' which consists of a number of different training mini-'games' or training exercises to get your brain flow moving and it logs your progress by assessing how quickly these mini-'games' or training exercises are completed and relating that back in terms of speeds (walking speed being the slowest, then there's faster ones like 'driving speed' each 'speed' is shown with a picture of whatever ... ...real interest in that.
Dr. Kawashima himself (who I believe came up with these training exercises) appears in the game, or at least his head does anyway, bobbing about on screen. He likes to offer tips and advice, which gets a bit tedious and predictable after a while, though some of the tips to start with can be quite useful. He'll always welcome you back when you put the cartridge back in the DS and switch it on after not having it on for a while, ...

Advantages: Makes you think. Doesn`t need to take up too much time. Disadvantages: Sometimes does not interpret voice or writing correctly.
I had wanted the game Brain Training for a while but didn`t have a Nintendo DS. The solution that my husband and I came up with was, buy my son a DS for Christmas and me the Brain Training game. It has been used very much as a family game. We all have a go. Admittedly though, I am the best, probably because I use it the most. It may train my brain, but it has also turned into something of an addiction.

To my mind Nintendo are different to the other big 2, that being Sony and Microsoft, who are in a never ending competition to out graphic one another, They seem more concerned with playability. It's like they understand they can't keep up, but they are intent on carving their own niche.

Firstly I'd just like to say that I don't do many reviews and so I may be rusty and possibly not up to standard, I apologise now.
I have onl had this game for 5 days and so I can only comment on my experience of it for the short time I've had it. I recently bought my son a DS as 'all my friends have one so I need one too!!!!' Since we got it I have slowly become addicted. Luckily my son is very kind and doesn't mind sharing! One of my first purchases was 'Brain Training'. Basically, there are various exercises ... ...brain. There is: Calculations - Either x20 or x100. You will see simple sums on the left screen, you then write the answer with the stylus on the right screen. Reading aloud - The screens display an excerpt from a novel and you simply read the pages and click the screen when you have finished the page. This can be done aloud or in silence, it works either way. Low to high - You will see between 4-7 numbers displayed in a pattern in boxes on the screen. ...

My son got this game with his new DS, At first he wasn't too impressed. I mean lets be honest what child wants a games console that is educational! So he didn't open it for a while but then he finally got curious and so did i!

Nintendo approached him to design a game using the same concept. Thankfully ... ...The gameplay is quite easy to use ( Even for me! ) And a big plus is it is ok for left handers, My youngest is left handed and sometimes has problems with games that you use the stylus for but this one is fine. The instructions on screen are very clear and you always see a picture of the Dr's head bobbing up and down! He is also very polite saying ...

Brain Training for Nintendo DS seemed interesting from the adverts I had seen so I decided to give it a go and bought the game which is relatively cheap especially compared to normal computer games. Brain Training has numerous games such as, maths calculations, syllable count and time lapse (you are given the pictures of 2 clocks with ... ...hours and minutes have passed from the first clock to the second clock), as well as additional games which you can unlock one at a time the more days you play.

As a proud owner of a Nintendo DS i always figured that this game wouldn't be worth the hassle. I thought it would be to eays, relatively childish and wouldn't last long. I decided to buy it as the hype just didn't go away i thought i want to see for myself what it is about this game.
