Dr. Pepper - Delicious!!!!!

Advantagestastes nice and is good value for money

Disadvantageshigh sugar content

" == What Is It== Dr. Pepper is a ‘sparkling fruit-flavour soft drink’ made by the coca-cola company. It was first served in 1885 and introduced nationally in the United States in 1904 as a new kind of soft drink. It comes in 330ml cans, 500ml bottles and 2L bottles. There is also a diet version called Dr. Pepper Zero. The packaging of Dr. Pepper is instantly recognisable, a dark red colour with what looks like splash marks and the name of the drink ..." It's not really misunderstood!

AdvantagesGreat taste, lots of fizz, lovely with ice, recyclable bottle.

DisadvantagesLots of sugar, not very refreshing.

"Dr Pepper is a soft drink that has been a recognised drink since 1885 and is available in several different varieties in the United States, however, I have only ever seen the original version in the United Kingdom and this is the one that I am reviewing. The product is available in several sizes: 250ml, 330ml, 500ml, 1.5l & 2l and I usually seem to buy the 500ml bottles as these are very handy for carrying on the move. The 500ml bottle is the ..." Dr. Pepper ZERO - a low calorie alternative

Advantagestasty, refreshing, nice packaging, unique

Disadvantagesaspartame, over-fizzy

"...red and some violet. The Dr Pepper writing comes in white in it's typical font, with the small (R) behind it. Underneath, it says "zero" in the same style as it does on the Coca Cola bottles. Under the logos, you can read "the great Dr Pepper taste with zero sugar". You also get nutritional information on the left that go for a 250ml serving. The whole logo and writing stuff is printed on the label twice - and then we get to the interesting bit - ..." Read review

Dr Pepper - UK & EU Comparison

AdvantagesFruity, Fizzy, Chilled, Tasty,

DisadvantagesSticky, Stains,

"...review is not just on Dr Pepper, it is on the differences between products from the UK and abroad, in this case England and Holland; because the difference is extraordinary. On first appearances you may not notice that your lovely red can of Dr Pepper is not a UK buy, especially if you like I just assume that when you buy a can of fizzy drink it will be the same as the last one you had. === So what is Dr Pepper?=== Dr Pepper is a fruit flavoured ..." There Is Always A Doctor In My House

AdvantagesGreat Unique Taste

DisadvantagesSticky

"I first latched on to Dr Pepper around two years ago, it was a hot summers day and I needed something to quench my first, upon visiting the corner shop to get my regular coca-cola, I was surprised to see that they had sold out. It was at this time that I decided to give this a try and became quite fond of the unique taste. At first I thought that Dr Pepper had only been around for 10 years or so, however after a little search on the Internet, I ..." Read review

TO TRY IT IS TO LOVE IT

AdvantagesLovely

DisadvantagesRots your teeth

"...first saw the advert for Dr Pepper I immediately thought eeeew, sounds revolting. But one day I went into the shop and thought well might as well try it so I picked up the see-through bottle with dark red label with bold white letters saying Dr Pepper on it, put it in the fridge for a few hours to make it nice and cold, when I took it out and opened it, it made a fizzing sound then put the bottle to my mouth and took the first sip and then immediately ..." So Misunderstood

AdvantagesTastes great.

DisadvantagesGoes flat quicker than other soft fizzy drinks.

"Dr Pepper is the oldest major soft drink in the US and is becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to other big selling soft drinks in the UK. According to the Doctor Pepper website at www.drpepper.com, the history of Dr Pepper goes back more than 100 yrs when it was first made and sold in the central Texas town of Waco in 1885. The story goes that there was a young english pharmacist named Charles Alderton who worked in Morrisons corner ..." Read review

Dammit Jim, I'm a Fruit Flavour Soft Drink...

AdvantagesUnique taste, frequently found on offer.

DisadvantagesEasily loathed, addictive, diuretic.

"...Wikipedia and the bottle label. Dr Pepper (Ph3) was an infrequent room-mate of mine at University, where I was studying English and he was apparently studying some form of chemistry in my windpipe, who I ditched regularly depending entirely on the best offer going around for cola drinks. That's right; the advertising campaigns may state determinedly that 'it is not a cola,' to the extent that it is now legally recognised as 'Pepper-flavoured' to further ..." Read review

AdvantagesAlways on offer, better than cola etc

DisadvantagesSweet, has laxative effects

"...my other favourite drink – Dr Pepper. ***Sizes and Packaging*** Dr Pepper comes in three sizes, 500ml and 2 litre bottles, and 330ml cans. All of these are dark red in colour with Dr Pepper written diagonally across the packaging in white writing. As with most products made by Coca Cola Enterprises, you never get to see the nutritional information on any of their products but you do get to see the company address and other information as well ..." Frothy, Fruity And Frivolous

AdvantagesTastes great, refreshing

DisadvantagesOnly when the bottle is empty

"...first time that I met Dr Pepper I had one of those hangovers that wouldn't go away. My head was thumping, I felt drained, my mouth tasted lousy, and nothing that I had in the house could slake my enormous thirst. I trundled off to the corner shop to buy something for my headache and was tempted to climb into the drinks cooler and have my wicked way with the contents. Instead I decided to behave and buy some bottles of something long and cold to take ..." Read review

What's the worst that could happen?

AdvantagesVery tasty, something a little different

Disadvantagestooth rotter!

"...drinks. Do you remember your first Dr Pepper experience? I, for one, have been drinking it since I could crawl! (may have even drank it out of a baby bottle...I'll have to ask dear old Mum). Brief History: Although not that well known here until the mid 1980's, Dr Pepper has been a mainstay of American culture since the early 20th Century. The recipe was created by pharmacist Charles Alderton in 1885 while working at Morrisons Drug Store ..." Read review

The way to combat Piggy Flu?

AdvantagesTaste, Price, Smoothness

DisadvantagesWhats the worst that could happen? It may not actually work as a Painkiller >_>...or stop pig flu

"...the hat off the poor Dr seemed to anger them, they shouted at me, as if to suggest they were full of feelings and annoyance that I was to intrude upon them. So to suggest the bottle is anything less than fresh would be ludicrous, the fizz was spitting out of the top of the bottle making a run for freedom like a caged animal that had seen it's chance to run. That was opening of the Dr's special medicine, which was a little angrier than I expected. The ..." Read review

Got a hangover.... call in the Doctor

AdvantagesTastes lovely, refreshing & fruity

DisadvantagesIt goes flat too quick

"...his first ever job. Dr Pepper was introduced in the same year as ice cream cones, hot dog rolls and hamburger buns - years later these four items which came about at roughly the same time are now all used together in the name of BBQ's. In 1986 the Dr Pepper company merged with SevenUp and were then brought in 1995 by Cadbury Schweppes. History lesson over, on with the op. :o) oOoOo THE CAN oOoOo It hasn't changed much since I was little. A red ..." Read review

Because it's understood

Advantagestastes yummy,makes a nice treat

Disadvantagesnot much different from cherry coke, very fizzy and gassy

"...was supposed to do, as Dr Pepper soon became the new coca cola for a while. But what is Dr Pepper and why is it called Dr Pepper? I honestly don’t have a clue why they called it Dr Pepper but I know that it is meant to be a fizzy, fruity drink. I find it tastes a little like cherry but it has a really unusual taste. I absolutely loved it when I finally did try it (which I did out of pure curiosity after reading an opinion on it on ciao). ..." Read review

Call the Doctor, I'm thirsty...

AdvantagesTastes great. Costs the same as other branded soft drinks.

DisadvantagesHard to find "diet" version.

"What is Dr Pepper? I love the stuff, but I haven’t a clue. All I know is that it tastes jolly nice and I drink copious quantities of it in summer. The liquid is dark and fizzy, like cola, and it tastes like a kind of cross between Coca Cola, Cherry Coke, Vimto and Dandelion and Burdock. It is produced under licence by the Coca-Cola company. The bottle describes it as a “fruit flavour soft drink”, which basically isn’t ..." Read review
