...This review is about the DragonBall Z TV show, that now previews on the channel called Toonami, on channel number 903 (if your using an NTL Digi Box). DragonBall Z is basically about Son-Goku (the main character in the TV show), whom when in DragonBall (the first series) is a young man, who grows up to be a protector of the planet Earth, of what he thought was the only planet, but then he ends up being the defender of the universe, and he has a lot ... ...Saiyan 4, which is in DragonBall GT (the 3rd series). Only Saiyans can go through these transformations. Piccolo has a few of his own, he has Sync with Nail, other words a fusion, what only Nameks can do, and he Fuses with Kami, which makes his much more powerful. Kami is the Guardian of the Earth for the beginning sagas, then Den-De comes and takes over. Den-De is a Namek, which they meet when they are on Namek.

Advantages: Great variety in plot and story line, characters are al unique and progress in there own way, and all serve their own purpose. Takes place on a variety of scenes, and is just great all round fun to watch. The fight scenes are also incredible to watch. Disadvantages: Some scenes go on for a tad too long, there are many shots of the characters just breathing which gets kind of annoying.

Advantages: Unlike any other cartoon, and in a good way. Disadvantages: Totally butchered when compared to the original Japanese version.
If you've never seen the original Japanese version of Dragon Ball Z, then you probably think it's one of the best cartoons ever made. And not without good reason either. Kung-fu cartoons aren't exactly all that big anywhere outside of Japan, and when you see Dragon Ball Z for the first time, it's just like nothing else you've ever seen. People fly, shoot lasers out of their eyes, turn into giant monkeys, blast fireballs out of their hands... it's ... ...Street Fighter and then made a cartoon about it, and it's the perfect thing for when you just want to relax, switch your brain off and watch something on the TV.

Dragon Ball Z is a brilliant new cartoon on Cartoon Network, originally 'invented' by Akira Toriyama, Dragon Ball Z is a well known and popular Japanese Anime (cartoon)and has been brought to our TV screens by Toonami, a company intent on filling our TV screens with Japanese anime. Personally, I think Dragon Ball Z is the ONLY good cartoon on Cartoon Network, even the other Japanese cartoons introduced by Toonami pale in comparison to the marvellous ... ...Japanese anime, I have seen the original Japanese version and I prefer the English version, the Japanese people are very different from us (no offense) and their cartoons seem very weird. The only big problem with the English version of Dragon Ball Z is the voice actors, they are pretty poor at grunts, groans and screams. Making the cartoon sound like a over exaggerated pornography cartoon (Japanese have cartoons like that, they are called Hentai).

...on watching an episode of Dragonball Z were: "Oh no, not another young childs fighting cartoon." But then that is exactly the false impression that most immediate viewers would probably get.
Of course Dragonball Z is aimed at kids and it is about fighting. But DBZ has its very own unique and exciting charm. Maybe it's the long-running and involved plots and story-lines. Or maybe it's just the unique concepts and exciting action scenes, but whatever ... ...sagas and episodes.
Dragonball Z is broken down into different sagas, each one usually featuring a different enemy or set of enemies that the main characters must defend the earth against. The animation is superb and despite a slight but nagging lack of movement from the characters, the drawings are a real credit to the animators. ...when you collect all the dragonball you get a wish granted and so obviously anyone evil wants to collect them.
The day is always saved when someone comes back from learning some new technique or from a load of trining or somehow mid-battle manages to surpass everyone by getting pissed off.
apart from some of the predictability of the plot the series does manage to retain some of the mangas' humour and the action sequences are great. To fully understand ...

I bet your thinking why do most people think Dragon ball Z is good....well because they have been watching it from they day it started so they get most of the storylines and the plot but thats no accuse to say it's crap.........the show repeats itself enough times so people can catch up with it.
The most common answer people say to me why they don't watch it.....because they say....."THE ANIMATION IS SOOOOO SH*T" but if you ignore that you will ... ...fever what most people have they cancall everything just to try and watch it.
At my school i can only find a few people who watch it.I try to get loads more people to aswell but its hard.
What i like about DBZ is that the action is awsome and there are so many sagas.......if you dont know where to watch it and your from the uk this is where you can catch it.

BUT, I must address a concern of mine relating to the blurrriness that has been added recently by our censorship board. It's all because of seizure worries from the light effects and fast motion.
OH PLEASE! If anything it causes MORE eye strain than before.

Too many characters for you to remember, this anime is guaranteed to bring action and suspense to all whatever the age group.
Taken out the 42 comics created in 1984 on the popular Japanese myth made by the Japanese manga artist Akira Toriyama, in 1989 they have now made over 250 episodes. And now in 2002 you can still watch this anime classic on Cartoon Network.
The story ... ...Ball. The magic in the dragonballs is that once you put them all together, Shenron the Dragon appears and allows you to grant three wishes! The main character is Goku a Saiyan warrior and defender of the universe. His will is to fight the monsters that try taking over the universe.
Goku and his best pals Krilin and Picollo the alien from planet Namek, Vegeta and his son Gohan all battle for the future of mankind.
The series is great for kids but ...

Dragonball Z is the best program ever made.
It shows on week days on Cartoon Network at 5pm which is great just before dinner.
Dragonball Z is an action packed filled cartoon about some friends who are really strong and save the earth and stuff.
There is around 12 people in all in fact and now the action is getting really good because Gohan's father has just died after saving the earth and suddenly just as magic Gohan is now a tennager which is ... ...I don't know how they fit so much action into a half a hour slot. If you haven't already watched it you really should give it a go. But watch it more than once beacuse you might be a little bit unlucky and hit a little boring bit but even if you do it's still really good. Obvisly I can't talk about the whole show beacuse it could be up to 10 pages long but the best way to find out how good it is, is just watch it for your self.

...so your either intrested in Dragonball Z or just curious. Well i've seen every episode atleast three times. I think it is a thing you will or won't like. Simple as that. I love it and am proud to say so, but I like all anime. Anime is the English and American version of Manga. And Manga if you do not know is animation for adults. Yet in this case it's not is it?. Its for children. I know..I know before you mock me yes I have a childs mind and yes ... ...the writer of the Dragonball, Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT series. Had a super idea when he dreampt of this.
Dragonball was the prologue to Dragonball Z and first came out in 1988. Yes beleive it or not it is that old. Which means that it has to be good if it has run as long as it has. Am i right or what?.
