    Advantages Advantages reduces soreness

    Disadvantages Disadvantages chilly.

Nappy rash is an absolute horror by all accounts - ammonia from urine effects the skin much like a burn would, making it red, sore, and in extreme cases blistered. You can reduce the risks of your baby getting it in the first place by changing nappies regularly, using talcum powder to help them keep dry and by applying cream at the first hint of redness. I've been trying sudo cream, and as my mother bought me a pot of Drapolene, I've given that a go as well. Drapolene comes in 200gram tubs and isn't terribly expensive - prices will of course vary depending on where you shop, but it seems to be ... more

Advantages Advantages easily applied, helps nappy rash, large tub.

Disadvantages Disadvantages doesn`t smell too pleasent

On recommendation from a friend that this was a miracle cure for nappy rash, I went to boots and preceeded to buy some, I payed £1.99 for it at the time. ***** So what is drapolene? ****** Drapolene is a soothing effective relief from nappy rash. It supposedly helps to treat and prevent nappy rash while still allowing a nappy to do it`s job. But not only that it is also effective for urinary dermatitis in adults and for minor burns. ******* Packaging ***** It comes in a big white tub that holds 200g which has a lid that flips off. In the centre of the tub is the word drapolene with a pink ... more

    Advantages Advantages Soothing, works fast

Disadvantages Disadvantages Possibly medical smell could bother people

Nappy rash is a horrible thing... When a baby wees, the urine goes into the nappy and is fine, doesn't hurt them one bit, but when they poo too, the bacteria mixes together with the urine making the ammonia nasty, causing burning to the skin, and nappy rash. Regular nappy changing (straight away after they have pooed), and good washing of reusable nappies should mean that your little one's bottom stays soft and clear, but sometimes, it still happens. Bronwyn seems to be ultra sensitive, and if I haven't noticed the poo fast enough, nappy rash will flare up, and not just a little bit of redness ... more

    Advantages Advantages Quick, effective, versatile

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I have been lucky in that both my sons have rarely suffered with nappy rash, except when teething or ill. But when they did get it.... boy was it bad. I tried every cream on the market - especially those pushed at you in the baby freebie packs - but to no avail and I was beginning to despair. And then I discovered Drapolene. Such an excellent cream. It has never taken more than 24 hours to clear up even the worst nappy rash, even after a very nasty bout when my youngest son had a kidney infection (and acid wee!). I find it much less greasy than the other products available and, unlike some ... more

Advantages Advantages Cures Quickly, Spreeds easily unlike sudo and it works

Disadvantages Disadvantages Price a little steep

Where do I start with this cream I tried everything when my daughter started to suffer with nappy rash, she was teething and I asked my Health visitor what to use as I had tried so many different things and all she could recommend was sudo cream so I carried on trying all sorts then I asked a person in my local boots chemist and told them my daughters bum was so red row and that I had tried everything everyone suggested and still hadn’t worked to heal it up. And the person at Boots recommended Drapolene antiseptic cream so I thought here goes something else to try and guess what it worked ... more

5 Stars Quick review of Drapolene Cream by soniam41 24/07/2008
I have to say, as well as nappy rash, Drapolene is marvellous on sunburnt skin! Rub some in a couple of hours before you go to bed, and hey presto, beautiful soft, sore free skin in the morning! But thats not its only use! I used to suffer bad exzema and dermatitis and you know something? I've been clear of both those conditions for ages; after using drapolene for a couple of weeks it never came back! So thanks to the people who make it, i'm never without a tub!

Advantages Advantages available in Boots, Chemists but not supermarkets

Disadvantages Disadvantages not one single one

I set out wanting to be good Mum. I wanted to do everything right for my child. I used the cream mentioned in books given by the attending mid-wife (Sudocrem). But my baby kept getting redness which was obviously sore. Then I visited someone I had met in hospital who had also just had a baby. I happened to be there during her child's nappy change. The baby was squealing/howling and writhing in absolute agony. I have never before seen such bad nappy rash- it was really bad- a large area was bright red, with weeping shiney sores and lots of bumps. The same cream I was using was applied- heaps of ... more

Advantages Advantages It Works, great price, easy to apply

Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit on the smelly side

Well having tried just about every nappy rash cream on the market I gave this a go on the recommendation of my mum. It has the smell, colour and consistency of Germolene and you know I finally found a nappy rash cream that actually works. I applied it at every change, with a more liberal application after the bath, in anticipation for bedtime. Only two days and hey presto no nappy rash. I prefer this to others on the market such as sudocrem, which seemed to make my little girl wince when applied. I now use it at the first sign of a rash and it always stops it developing. All I can say is give ... more
