Advantages Advantages Ability to Track Progress, Question Variation

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not as difficult as the official DSA CDROM, Bad Quality Hazard Perception

This is the review for the 2003-2004 edition of Driving Test Success which includes two CDRom's 1 for Theory Test and the 2nd for the Hazard Perception exam. I began learning to drive a day after my 17th birthday which was on October 25th and after my first lesson I felt really comfortable driving, on the way back my instructor asked me whether I thought about my theory test. I didn't know when it was a good time to take the theory test but he assured me I could do it anytime I wanted to. After a few more lessons I decided to book the theory test for £20.50 on the official DSA website but I ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not many!!

I have just bought the 2002/2003 edition of Focus – “Driving Test Success Theory” which also includes the new Hazard Perception test, on CD Rom, and my initial opinion is very good. The system requirements to run the cd-roms are as follows:- Operating system – Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP CPU type and speed – Pentium II 300 or equivalent. Hard Drive Space – 100MB Memory – 32MB (Recommend 64MB) Graphics – 4MB DirectX 8 compatible graphics card CD Rom Speed – 4x or faster. Installation There are two disks to install. The first is the theory test. The disk automatically starts up when inserted ... more

Advantages Advantages It helps with the theory test and lets you sit mock exams

Disadvantages Disadvantages the hazard perception disc only has 50 different videos on it.

I have been getting driving lessons since March this year and in May I decided it was about time I put in for my Theory Test, I knew nothing about what would happen when I got there so my driving instructor let me borrow the Driving Test Success cd roms that he had. The system requirements are as follows: Operating system – Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP CPU type and speed – Pentium II 300 or equivalent. Hard Drive Space – 100MB Memory – 32MB (Recommend 64MB) Graphics – 4MB DirectX 8 compatible graphics card CD Rom Speed – 4x or faster. I placed the first disc (Theory test) into the cd rom drive ... more

    Advantages Advantages Excellent preparation

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Watch the price!

The driving test success CD ROM is an excellent piece of kit for anyone wanting to pass their DSA Theory first time. It contains thousands of questions straight from the actual tests, so not only do you get a better idea of what to expect in the test, but you can practise your technique and learn from your mistakes. Each test gives a breakdown of the categories and tells you your percentage per area so you know where your weaknesses are and can endeavour to improve. If you don't want to sit the exam straight away, there are 'training sessions' with pictures and video clips to help you learn ... more

Advantages Advantages So similar to the real test

Disadvantages Disadvantages you can never use them enough

For the last few years now i have been very keen to learn to drive, i sent off for my provisional licence months before my birthday and had my theory test booked for my birthday. A few months before the test i decided it was time to learn the highway code, my first stop was the highway code book. Not being a book person i was bored very quickly and didn't know what i was going to do until this came along. There are many different sets in the Driving test success range, the one to get contains the following four programs and is available for around £20. Driving test success - Theory This CD ... more

Advantages Advantages Could pass my mock theory after just 4 hours of learning

Disadvantages Disadvantages I can't think of any

This piece of software is probably one of the best that I have ever, and will ever, invest in. When I saw it for £8.49 in my local ASDA store, I new that at a price so cheap I had to at least give it a go. So I took a chance, and as soon as I got home I went straight to the computer to test out what I had learnt from my highway code, which I had purchased about a month before. Among other things, the cd contains every question you could possibly be asked at your theory test, and you can check the extent of your knowledge by taking a "mock" exam, so that's exactly what I did. And as it turns ... more

Advantages Advantages brilliant insight into the tests

Disadvantages Disadvantages shows you just how hard the tests are!

im a single mum of three, who desperatly needs to get a driving license! everyone has always said "how hard" the test can be, i always remember thinking "what 35 questions!!". i brought this cd rom in asda for £7.97, and i am so glad that i did! the cd rom has got every single test question thats in circulation at the moment (over 1000). it also has the new hazard perception cd rom, which means watching short clips of cars driving and spotting the hazards ( which may i add,i am not very good at all! ). you can print out tests, take tests, take certain subjects out of the tests. the tests even ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to understand, very much like the real thing.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Fairly expencive, depending on where you get it from.

Before I took my driving theory test, I was quite apprehencive, as many of my friends had previously complained that it was quite difficult. I expressed my concern to my driving instructor, and her reccomendation was that I purchased some software for the PC to help me get through it. My initial reaction was that this kind of software was just another way of getting money out of those begining to learn to drive, but I soon discovered that this was the wrong way to be thinking. I purchased this software, which included three disks, one for the actual theory (multiple choice) part of the test ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to learn from

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor quality graphics

This software is brilliant for beginners who want to learn to drive and people revising for their theory test. What it lacks in visual quality (And it really does lack, sometimes you can only just see the videos you are answering questions on!) it makes up for in content. Occasionally the program does have a few glitches (You select the correct answer and it tells you ‘You’ve got it wrong!’ then you ask what the correct answer was and it says the one you gave!) but all in all it is a useful piece of software. ... more
