Nice paint, shame about the VOC's Review with images

AdvantagesLovely smooth mirror finish, 6 year protection guarantee.

DisadvantagesGloss has high VOC, primer v.high VOC, gloss has long dry time.

"...£9.99 for a tin of Dulux Weathershield gloss, £9.99 for the Weathershield undercoat and £9.99 for Weathershield exterior preservative primer (all 750ml size, there are also 2.5 ltr sizes at £19.99, although my Wilkinsons only stocked undercoat in this size) this was not going to be cheap. But with a 6 year protection guarantee on all Weathershield paints I hoped this would be worth it. A word of caution, to qualify for the guarantee you have to use ..." Read review

Weathershield - like a shield of steel . .

AdvantagesLong lasting.

DisadvantagesHas to be done properly.

"OK - before we even mention the actual paint:- Surface preparation, the most important bit:- Make sure all surfaces to be painted are sound, in other words not flaking, all these surfaces must be sanded down, as well as clean and dry. I must also add a little about health & safety, please be aware of the dangers of old lead based paint, this is possibly what you are sanding down. When using on wood, treat all knots with a knotting solution. Apply ..." Read review

PAINT THAT IGNORES THE WEATHER.

AdvantagesIt lasts and lasts.

DisadvantagesNone.

"...am familiar with is the Dulux Weathershield Smooth Masonry Paint. This paint comes in a 5L container at £15.96 from B and Q in the U.K. and is one of the easiest and most economical outdoor paints that I have ever used. What I particularly like about it is its quick drying, enabling two coats to be done within 24 hours. It is actually touch dry within 2 to 3 hours, and recoatable within 2-4 hours, although I generally leave this til the day after. The ..." Read review

Dulux Weathershield Smooth

AdvantagesCovers Brilliantly, Range of Colours, 15 year guarantee, UV protected

DisadvantagesDearer than some other makes

".../>I bought 5 litres of Dulux Weathershield Smooth (in magnolia) from Focus DIY for £22.99, much dearer than Focus's own version, but when you consider what it will have to put up with, very hot weather, freezing weather, direct sunlight, rain etc, I took the advise I had been given, and avoided the cheaper option, the Dulux brand also comes with a 15 year guarantee, and it is claimed to be specially formulated to withstand UV rays, which is good on ..." Dulux Weathershield white gloss for external use

AdvantagesVery durable - excellent gloss retention

DisadvantagesVery slightly more expensive

"...painter/decorator he suggested I use Dulux Weathershield that was available from my local trade outlet. Although this product is slightly more expensive it has proved to be excellent value. I sanded down the old paintwork, applied primer to exposed surfaces, one coat of Dulux Weatershield undercoat and finished it off with one coat of Dulux Weathershield gloss. Five years later all I needed to do was to rub down and patch paint the lower part ..." Read review

Best Value ever

AdvantagesGood coverage

Disadvantagessmall colour range

"We used the Dulux weathershield system, base coat, primer and top coat on all the external timber on this house when it was built ten years ago, we are now in the process of re-painting for the first time, over 90% of the paintwork is in good condition after that time. how many other paints will last that long, where there has been excessive weathering there is a need to strip right back and re-do the whole process but in the majority of cases its ..."
