A SUCKER SUITABLE FOR MULTIPLE ORIFICES

Advantages: Very effective cleaner, easy to manouvre, the handle on the pipe
Disadvantages: The brushes could get tangled easily, messy to empty, pricy

...there was a representative from Dyson in-store, who kindly took me through all the techie bits and tried to baffle me with jargon. All I wanted to know was would it get rid of these bloody dog hairs. I have discovered since owning my beautiful four legged friend that their hairs are like pine needles and get everywhere. THE CHOICE The Dyson range is huge. There are uprights and cylinders ranging upwards in price from around £149 up to £289. The ...
...One thing the Dyson machines do have in common (for those that have been living in a hole in the ground for the last 10 years or so), is that they are bag-less. It was easy to see in the store that the insides of the demonstration models were, to say the least, mucky. MY CHOICES Getting rid of pet hairs and dust being my top priority, it was a toss up between two machines, this one, and a more advanced one again, which allowed the user to switch ...

Hepa Junk

Advantages: Allergy Features, No Bags
Disadvantages: Mine Lost Suction, Poor Service From Dyson After 2 Service Visits

I bought my Dyson in September 2004. I had decided on a Dyson for a few reasons, I was seduced by the brand, I was keen on the allergy control feature and I wanted an upright cleaner. This sounded ideal. At £219.99, it was pricey, so a neighbour let us borrow hers prior to committing ourselves, we were impressed and decided yes, we should buy this Dyson. Now, I don't suffer with allergy/dust problems myself, but hubby does, so being the sensitive ...
...box with the wonder of Dyson waiting inside..... ABOUT DYSON IN BRIEF: James Dyson decided to manufacture a new model under his own name in Britain after success abroad. In June 1993 he opened his research centre and factory in Wiltshire, not far from his home, and developed a machine that collected even finer particles of dust (microscopic particles as small as cigarette smoke). The result was the DCO1, the first in a range of cleaners to give ...

Animal??It's a beast!!!

Advantages: Powerful Suction, On-board tool storage, High Filtration Standard
Disadvantages: Heavy, Noisy, Hose is difficult to use

...room carpet with our trusty Dyson DC02, now nearing retirement age, we decided we needed something with a bit more power and a rotating brush bar. We had tried an air-powered turbo brush attachment on the DC02, but it constantly clogged up and stopped rotating. So, slightly miffed, we gave up that idea, and a few months later, we received our new Dyson DC07 Animal. I must admit that I won this in a competition, and we picked the Animal, not because ...
...cyclones, and not just two. Dyson claims that this gives the Root Cyclone models 45% more power than the Dual Cyclone models, though the fact that the Root Cyclone models have 1400w motors, and the Dual Cyclone models have 1200w motors might have something to do with the 45% power increase as well. Dyson didn’t tell us that one did they!! The most noticeable feature on the silver/yellow model is the extendible hose, which also acts as the handle ...

More suction than a £20 hooker!

Advantages: Effective suction
Disadvantages: The weight

...Having been put off the Dyson due to reports of them having a life span similar to an amoeba I wasn't too sure if a Dyson was going to last the course. Also 3 years previously an over zealous sales man put me completely off buying one due ot the sale patter of " they'll get your house, hospital clean madam" As I have great experience of hospital standards of cleanliness I gave the Dyson a wide berth! So here I was with carpets that screamed CLEAN ...
...erming I decided that the Dyson was perhaps the one for me. What sold it was the fact they have a long hose. Basically you can clean the stairs without having to balance the vacuum cleaner precariously on a step half way up to finish the job. I soon found myself the proud owner of a DC07SY - the SY standing for silver and yellow! James Dyson, the creator of Dyson vacuum cleaners studied Design at the Royal College of Art. In the late 70's and early ...

The Purple Dust-Busting Hair Eating Monster

Disadvantages: bit expensive

...bag-less one, most likely a Dyson due to the praise it received. When I got to the store, I compared all the prices of the bag-less vacuum cleaners and had a close look over the Dyson’s because of their rather unique design. I had to change the filters on my old vacuum too frequently for my liking and it wasn’t a particularly cheap thing to do either so I took this into consideration when choosing my new vacuum. After much consideration, I decided ...
...The design of the Dyson is rather “different”. I wouldn’t go as far as to say it is ugly but it sure does stand out around the house with its futuristic design unless you keep it in a closet. The Dyson uses something called “Root Cyclone Technology. Going by what the website says: “Root Cyclone gives higher suction power. Spinning air creates centrifugal force. By making the air stream spin, dirt and debris are subjected to centrifugal force. The ...

It's a Mighty Beast!

Advantages: cleans deep down, going beyond the surface dirt, restores life to old carpets
Disadvantages: suction so strong you can get pulled over when using the wand, jet engine sound

...owned (and still do), a Dyson DC05 cylinder model. While it worked well, it lacked a rotating brush bar for carpets, and for downstairs storage, I really preferred an upright silhouette. Having moved to a house with a mixture of floors, I was keen to get one that could tackle the deep pile carpet and the mess of two cats, two small children, and the mess and dirt hubby brings in as well from the outside as well as from his workshop. This was a more ...
...so we both thought a Dyson was out of my reach. That is, until one day as I trawled Ebay, a reputable Dyson dealer appeared upon my screen, selling completely refurbished Dysons for within my price range! I hit the BIN now button, and a several days later, I had this mighty beast in my now seriously grubby carpet, as my young son had managed to kill my DC05 with some seriously rough handling (he broke the switch, so it is repairable, but enough ...

The best vacuum cleaner on the market

Advantages: Excellent cleaner by Dyson, 45 % more suction that dual cyclones
Disadvantages: None

...ago I purchased my latest Dyson vacuum cleaner, the DC07 (The latest bag less, root cyclone, upright cleaner from Dyson). Before this I had the DCO4 which conked out after heavy use with it never even getting a day off (perhaps one or two) ever since it was purchased approximately 3 years ago. My experience with Dyson The major problem I have with vacuum cleaners is that often I find that after a while they start losing their suction and none are ...
...in time we believe the Dyson is better than any other brand for us and because we always purchase an upright cleaner we had the option of the DCO4 or the DCO7.) The DCO4 was retailing for around the £135-£170 mark, where as the newer DCO7 was around the £165 to £299 mark, depending on which particular model you wanted. We wanted to try out the newer DCO7 and so we purchased the basic silver/yellow DCO7 (without brush bar control as all of our floors ...

My Animal Story

Advantages: Does pick up pet hairs
Disadvantages: Expensive

...have now settled for the Dyson DC07 Animal machine. As my two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels form part of my household and boy, oh boy, do they shed hair, then I needed something special that could take the effort out of cleaning up all those hairs! As all pet owners are aware, pet hairs are a serious problem. Yes, we love our pets with all our hearts, but something I cannot stand to see is my floor coverings – and by that I mean tiled, wooden ...
...CALLED DYSON ===================== James Dyson is the man behind this brilliant product and his motto was that he could do better than the everyday products which almost always let everyone down. Did you know that he invented the integral hose that is on most upright hoovers? Not only that, but he invented a sea truck, wheelboat, trolleyball and ball barrow. And here was little old me thinking he just invented hoovers and washing machines! There ...

No loss of suction....not a sausage....

Advantages: Ease of use, functionality
Disadvantages: Quite heavy

We bought our Dyson DC07 Purple & Lime Upright version last summer and it's the best cleaner I've ever had (apart from my mum!). I've had a fair few vacuum cleaners that have conked out reasonably early in their lives, but this one (touch wood!) has been ok, no problems at all. The main reasons the others seem to have failed were motors burning out, or just going bang. Maybe it's just me, but they're not all made like a Dyson maybe? I bought it, ...
...5. Available deep-cleaning powder - Dyson have a range of 'Zorb' products that you can use with your vacuum cleaner, in order to clean your carpets more thoroughly. A 'carpet maintenance powder' (around £8.00 for 750g pack) is available (bit like the old 'Shake & Vac' - do they still make that?) that you simply put down and vaccum up again, also a 'Zorb Groomer' head for the cleaner that will apparently 'work Zorb powder deep into the carpet for ...

...mother-in-law had just got a Dyson from her catalogue and showed it to us; a vacuum cleaner for us is a very large buy, so we wanted to think long and hard before spending our pennies. It seemed great and we were suitably impressed with the performance. On the way home we called in at Currys and took the plunge. It was quite a wrench parting with the cash, but we came home with a Dyson DC07 – The purple/ turquoise model. DYSON HISTORY~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ...
...Dyson here is a brief history of the product. You have my permission to skip past this if it doesn’t interest you! James Dyson, a former student of the Royal College of Art, was a designer and inventor. He was responsible for the award winning Ball Barrow; a wheelbarrow that could go over terrain a normal wheelbarrow couldn’t tackle. In 1978 he built the first Industrial Cyclone Tower and 5 years (and 5,127 prototypes) later the first bagless vacuum ...

...read quite a bit about Dyson vacuum cleaners, over the last year or two, but as my old Panasonic cleaner was still going strong, I couldn’t warrant the expense. However the old machine started to pack up, and my hubby, who probably could have fixed it, decided it was beyond economical repair, obviously because he wanted a Dyson too. James Dyson has an impressive story; his company has featured quite heavily in my recent MBA creativity course. A ...
...We managed to purchase the Dyson DC07 Animal via the internet, for approximately £230. This was some £50 cheaper than in the shops, as there was a special offer on the website for that model only. The Big Sucker

Advantages: Easy to use; effective cleaner; simple to empty
Disadvantages: A big outlay at the start

...agree with me that the Dyson DC07 is the big sucker.! So here is my calm, impassioned scientific input to the debate.!! ~~~~~ 1 Past History. ~~~~~~~ This Dyson had to hold its place in a long line of notable and distinguished vacuum cleaners.! When you reach my age, you've spent a few quid on vacuum cleaners. Our first was a Hoover Constellation - that hovered ( and hoovered) lightly over the floor on the air it had used to suck up the dirt. ...
...was still breathing.! So Dyson DC07 - was called into this long line of reputable machines. 2 ~~~~~~~~ New Purchase ~~~~~~~~~~ Sorry for the profuse blushing, but I need to be honest here. We looked at the Dysons in various stores locally, especially Curry's...with no intention of buying locally. There were several different options, each having their own colour scheme. But we had found an online store or two who would undercut the prices locally, ...
