    I purchased this dyson having owned a dyson for many years, and then my new puppy decided to chew any chewable parts that it had, so opted to buy a new one. Now initially my mum had went and bought me a miele hoover, which was not an upright or bagless but the suction is apparantly superior, but i prefer an upright and when i tried to vacuum my rugs with the miele, i decided an upright would be the less physically demanding cleaner for me, which is always important to a busy mum and housewife.     When I moved into my new house that has cream carpets all up stairs I decided that my old hoover was not up to the job, It was recommended to me that I should get a dyson, so after some research on the internet I did indeed by a Dyson. The Dyson DC24 over all is a good hoover, its light weight, which was fantastic for me as my house is over 3 floors and carrying my old heavy hoover up and down the stairs was a nightmare.     This is my first Dyson and I have only had it a few weeks and I have to say I will never ever buy another brand - it is absolutely fantastic. At the moment, Argos are doing a deal where you can take any old vacumm (and my was very old!) in to the store and 'part exchange' it for a dyson. The % off differs but works out at about 20% which is a fantatsic saving. I love the look of the vacuum, it is ultra modern in clear plastic, grey and yellow with various bits and bobs attached to aid you in cleaning various parts of your home like between the gaps in the sofa, the mattress, skirting boards ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit pricey, expected something really "wow" for it. Cord a bit too long.

    After my childhood memories, I got laminate floorings and resorted to brushing. I loved the sliding, the gliding of the brush. It was nothing like our Safeway hoover we had!! I swore I would never touch one the bulky beasts again. Until my Aunt Carol fell down the stairs, became bed bound, and her only son went to Thailand on a business trip (lucky beggar, I still to this day don't believe him, he packed his trunks!!).     I love this vacuum!!! Its so light, compact and really easy to use even my husband can use it!! I have already got a dyson vac but needed to replace it due to it being old and bits starting to drop off (sounds a bit like its owner really!) I saw this on a preview and really liked it. It is only 3/4 size of a ordinary vac as the handle collapses inside itself. It is very easy to use as you just twist the handle to steer the vaccum on its ball rather than vaccing backwards and forwards.     I have owned this for a few months now and am very impressed. I have always been a complete Dyson-phobe and refused to give in like the millions of other "Dyson fans" saying that they were overpriced and not as good as my current hoover. I previously owned a Henry hoover and didn't think I could get much better until this little thing came along. Compact and small it stores away without taking up too muchroom (always a good thing in a flat) and it picks up absolutely everything.     I am very particular about cleanliness. I can do without the refrigerator, I can do without the air conditioner but I cannot imagine a single day without my vacuum cleaner. Vacuum cleaner is one appliance that I am heavily dependent on. I trust Dyson for all my cleaning needs. It works amazingly well in my opinion. Moreover, it is compact and it doesn’t weigh too much. This is the best part about using the cleaner. Since it is light weight, I can carry it anywhere I want and use it for long hours.     Advantages Advantages Easy to set up, no bags, very effective

    Disadvantages Disadvantages You have to wash the filters monthly and can not use them for 24 hours while they dry

    I own a cleaning company and I was in the middle of cleaning a home when my current vacuum began to smoke and in a rush I needed a new vacuum. I had been seriously considering buying a Dyson for awhile and when I saw that they came with a 5 year warranty I was sold. I assembled the Dyson at my customer's home with no tools and began using it right away. I now use the Dyson ball in every home and it never fails.     This is a great hover, with good suction. It's biggest advantage is it really easy manoeuvrability, coupled with its lightweight body. Even my 5 year old son sometimes help me hover. Obviously with me near him. It's easy to clean the stairs as it is so light. Although it has a long hose, approximately 2.5m, I usually carry it up the stairs with me, with no problem. The ball makes the vacuum cleaner so easy to move around. As with all Dyson cleaners, suction is not a problem at all. It even pickes up the tiniest of hairs on the carpet.
