Advantages: Design lives up to its promise. Disadvantages: Price.
...a little afraid that the Dyson would not live up to its promises, and that I would be stuck with a gadget that looked pretty rather than an effective cleaning system.
CLAIMS MADE BY THE MANUFACTURER.
The Manufacturer claims to have invented Cyclone technology which sounds very fancy, but what in fact does this mean to the average housewife ?
It meant nothing to me when I bought the machine. They were empty words. Cyclone technology is supposed ...

Advantages: Superb suction Disadvantages: Very pricey
My love affair with the Dyson vacuum began many years ago when as a poor student I spent my summer holidays working as a cleaner in an old folks' home. In those dark days, the Dyson cleaner was the only ray of light in my otherwise gloomy days of dusters, dishes, toilet cleaner and mops. Now, anyone who has ever visited my flat, been in my car or even seen my desk at work for that matter, will know that I'm not the world's tidiest person and might ...

...crumbs are beneath it.
The Dyson DC08 Animal** is going to set you back £299 at most electrical stores and is widely available. It looks just like this picture, except the colours are different. It's purple where the turqoise is, and silver where the blue is. The cheapest price I could get was £257.99 from www.electricaldiscountuk.co.uk. If you find it cheaper elsewhere, don't tell me!! This included delivery within 48 hours - very impressive. ...

Dyson DC08 Origin Dark Steel/Yellow Cylinder Cleaner.
---------- ----------- ----------- ----------- ----------- ----------- ------------ -----------
As far as luck with household electricals go with me it is all or nothing at all as when one seems to come to the end of its life cycle all the others soon follow in its footsteps. Any way that is my little moan out of the way, back to the reviewing.
I recently found myself having to replace my ...

Advantages: Design, suction Disadvantages: Can't think of any
I bought my Dyson 2 years ago, at that time it costs £250 and I felt it was money well spent.
First of all, I live in a flat which, for good or bad, is fairly big and was, until recently, carpeted throughout. This basically means that there is a lot of hoovering to do.
A few years ago, I decided to swap my old carpet - lovely pink - to a new one and made the awful mistake to get a dark blue carpet which means that EVERY specs of dust can be seen ...

Advantages: It's easy to use and works brilliantly Disadvantages: A bit of a pain for use on Stairs
...my partner suggested getting a Dyson like his mum has. So, there was me thinking, ‘They can’t be ‘That’ good’. But yes, oh yes, they really are.
The advantages of a Dyson, especially the DC08 HEPA Cylinder Cleaner are numerous.
Firstly, it’s bag less. Yes, no more changing the bag! No more looking for replacement bags and having a nightmare trying to find them. This saves money no end. Especially if (Like me), you do have animals and pet hair ...

Advantages: Cleans brilliantly Disadvantages: A bit cumbersome
...good people told me a Dyson was, I didn’t believe the price could possibly be justified. A classic case of paying for the name.
But then 6 months ago yet another vacuum cleaner broke on me after not much use and I decided to face the ‘told you so’s’ and splash out.
After a lot of reading, researching and online price comparisons, I decided on the DC08 Animal cylinder model. I thought that maybe it was the cat hairs that had buggered my previous ...

Advantages: amazing cleaning machine. no competition Disadvantages: tool holder loose, no on/off on handle
To those who know me, the fact I know where the vacuum lives, let alone being willing to write a review of one should give a clue that I either was amazed or totally disgusted by this product.
Well, I was totally blown away the first time I used it.
First thing... it's expensive. We'd bought (and returned, and returned the return) a cheaper (about a third of the price) look-alike which was poorly built and frankly didn't work, and out of sheer ...

~ Dyson ~
The Dyson brand is a very well know brand when it comes to vacuum cleaners and a few people I know have them and swear by them. So what's the big deal ? - cleaning power and no loss of suction, robust and reliable. Dyson also make quite a lot of different models for which ever purpose you require. Apparently Dyson only make dry hoovers which is fine for us.

...house with my funky purple Dyson Animal, there shineth the light.
My mum bought myself and my husband a Dyson Animal for Christmas, and as the ‘primary housekeeper’, I have to say that it is a truly wonderful invention.
To place a little background to it… James Dyson is an inventor by nature. Early potterings brought about the sea truck, wheelboat, and most famously (pre hoover) the ballbarrow – you know the wheel barrow with one big basketball ...

...make. I have owned a Dyson before, the 01 model right when the company set up years ago in the UK.
After a lot of pondering I finally decided to get the DC08 Animal Vacuum Cleaner. Not only for the alluring purple colour, to also suck up all of those pet hairs from every knack and cranny in the house with the special attachment tools. Also at £219.99 from my local Dixons store it was hard to resist.
Enough of my life story now and lets get ...

Advantages: Great suction - fairly lightweight - easy to move around - good customer support Disadvantages: None
...beat it - or so Dyson say and I have to agree. When I moved into my new place the one thing I had completely forgotten about was a vacuum cleaner and this lead to much rushing around when I realised that my cough and wheezing was down to the amount of animal hair left by the previous owners. Not being well off enough to pay for new carpets I decided that I had to go forth and buy a Dyson - after all everyone I had spoken to raved about them.
I ...

Advantages: no running costs, performance, after sales Disadvantages: price, storage, power!! (see review for explanation)
...having to this. A fact Dyson are obviously aware of as they provide a sticker to remind you to do this!
The downside of this power is that if you have any loose rugs/carpets/lino you will not be able to move the machine very easily as it will literally stick itself to the floor! This would be a concern to me if i had any back probs or was older. Another problem (and one I belive later models have addressed) is that of storage, the hose and wand ...

Advantages: This powerful Dyson effectively cleans all surfaces Disadvantages: The bin fills up quickly and requires frequent emptying
...been thinking about buying a Dyson for some time, but had been put off in the past at the thought of spending a lot of money on a vacuum cleaner.
However, I must say that now that I have decided to splash out on this Dyson, I have no regrets whatsoever! It is a very powerful machine, and picks up so much more than my previous vacuum did - my rugs and carpets are noticeably cleaner. The Dyson works very well on wooden floor boards too, which attract ...

Advantages: best ever suction, on-board tool storage, no dust bag Disadvantages: telescopic hose feels flimsy and bulky
I was a Dyson virgin until last month when my trusty Henry's nose kept falling off so I bit the bullet and decided to pay the £229 for the DC08 telescopic. What attracted to me about Dyson was, to be honest, being able to see my own dirt - errh! but wholly satisfying. I had held off getting one because of a) the cost and b) I had heard from more than one source that they can be unreliable. On further research though, I found out that it tends to be ...
