Well, my good old Dyson DC04 finally gave up the ghost a while ago and died on me in spectacular fashion. I was a bit upset as it was a good hoover but at the same time mildly excited at the prospect of buying a new one. Pretty boring purchase I know, but for a shopoholic like me it's not so much the purchase but the spending of money that attracts. LOL Anyway, we browsed the Internet doing price comparisons on the new Dyson hoovers and finally ...

...a lifetime but according to dyson themselves it should be checked 6 monthly and may need changing if there is any colour change. If these filter needs replacing they cost around £12 and £20 respectivley. The only problem i am having at the moment is that the vaccum is starting to smell a little of my dog when used. ...some extensions, but I think Dyson never intended for anyone to actually use those functions. Why else would it be so difficult to use? The tube (?) thing doesn't want to extend or be flexible, so you have to hold it at the same time as you use the other hand to clean, with one foot holding the machine back, as you don't want it falling down the stairs, if that's where you're hoovering. The add-on with the rotating brush feels like it's angled slightly ...
...Using any of the add-ons make me go put on a pair of really old (and well-isolated!) headphones as well, because I find the noise level too high. It's a very good vacuum cleaner, but it's so much HASSLE if you actually want to vacuum properly. The reason we got this particular one was becuase of the animal factor. If not for that, I would've insisted on one that wasn't upright and save myself a lot of hassle! Oh yeah, and don't believe for a second ...

I finally found this at LX direct for £189 including free car cleaning kit (worth £30). If you are planning to buy this hoover look frequently online, the cheapest online price does seem to vary between the sites ( the week before LX direct had the same hoover priced at £250). So what do you get for your money? the DC14 is 7 times ...

...it was very apparent that dyson have come a long way since the first DC01. I used the mini turbine head on the hose to clean the furniture and curtains, which was quick and easy and by the time I was finished there was no sign we had a cat at all. The Telescopic hose is very useful when it comes to cleaning the stairs and it makes it much less of a stretch. The extra length also makes it a lot easier to hoover up cobwebs from the ceiling. I have two Dyson DC 14 Animals. I am a Dyson fan, I also have the washing machine. I purchased the first Animal as my original DC01 was getting a bit old but is still going strong in my husband's workshop! I then won a second Animal in a store draw six months later. As they are extremely heavy to get up and down the stairs we decided to keep one upstairs and one downstairs. We were impressed with the suction of this machine, it is even more efficient ...

...after using my neighbour's animal dyson to clean my student house before I moved out. My husband and I are both vets, so aswell as the hair from our three cats, a dog and a horse, there is also hair from our clothes all over the house! As such it gets a pretty good work out! The amount of hair it hoovers up is pretty disgusting, but it is easy and quick to empty. It is slightly frustrating how quickly it needs emptying when things are really dirty ...
...that is just because it is doing quite a good job. Negatives include the awful noise it makes if it picks up the edge of the rug, and the fact that it can actually get clogged. The main feature of the cleaner is the incredible suction though and it does not seem to weaken, even when the box is full. Pipework is straightforward, so if you do accidentally pick up something you shouldn't , there is little to get blocked and you can get to anywhere that is. There is a filter which needs washing and drying now and then but it is not too onerous ...

When people say that things suck it typically means something negative. Not is not the case here. This vacuum really sucks. No pun intended. I have a dog, and I swear she leaves other little dogs where ever she goes. I don't know how that could be because she's been fixed for quite sometime now. No, she just leaves fur all over my house. I love this hover! My carpets come up good as new everytime i use this hover. The anti-allergen filter is great, it traps all the dust etc. House feels clean, it doesn't kick up the dust into the air like other hovers. Would definelty suggest for asthma and other allergy suffers. The main brush head removes pet hair from carpets and hard surfaces with ease; 1 or 2 passes and its gone. The pull out hand-held attachment has so many pieces to pull ...
...But once you get your head round it, its has just as much suction as the main brush head. Great for removing pet hair from furniture and bedding.
