Simple but Effective

Advantages: Soothes and softens skin
Disadvantages: Quite expensive; a bit greasy

...from eczema recommended I try E45 hand cream, as it soothes sensitive skin and relieves itching. I took her advice and bought a bottle of E45 Moisturising Lotion. The obvious advantage of a lotion over a cream is that it can be used on the whole body and not just the hands. However, the 200ml bottle was quite expensive even though it was on a special offer. It cost me £2.19 from Morrisons, but normally retails at £3.19. THE PRODUCT As the picture ...

According to the blurb on the bottle, the lotion soothes, softens and relieves dry and sensitive skin. It also claims to be dermatologically tested and hypo-allergenic, which means that it is unlikely to cause an allergic reaction. WHAT I THINK... My experience of using the lotion has been very positive. I tend to put some ...

...steroids. I have found that E45 lotion is a good second and easier to get hold of than the other cream I use. E45 is available in many different forms and my opinion is just related to the E45 lotion. The E45 products are made by Crookes healthcare, along with several other skin care products. E45 is fairly expensive I think the 200ml bottle I have cost about £3.50, however I use it everyday on my face and about 4 times a day on my hands and the ...
...and liquid paraffin (paraffinum liquidum). E45 lotion does contain lanolin, which some people are allergic to this surprises me as it is supposed to be hypoallergenic. For easy recognition, look for a white bottle with blue writing and the name E45 in a blue oval surrounded in a pinky colour oval in turn surrounded by another blue oval. Overall E45 lotion is good value for money in the long term as the bottle lasts ages and it works! ...

You too can be like a babys bum

Advantages: moisturises, cheap
Disadvantages: slightly greasy

...one of the best! E45 is made by Crookes Healthcare, which is now part of the company Boots. Sir William Crooke and his son Henry first set up Crookes Healthcare in 1912. Other products which have been produced by Crooks healthcare are Strepsils Clerasil, Nurofen and Optrex. There are many different types of E45 products available, and I have the Moisturising lotion. I have dry flaky skin as I have already said. I get especially on my arms and legs, ...
...wonders! The moisturising lotion comes in a plain white bottle with blue writing. The only part of the bottle which isn't white or blue is the ring around the logo E45. The lotion come out of the top of the bottle, and is supplied in a squeeze bottle. Each bottle contains 200ml, which is more than enough for me, but if you want more than this, I have been told it also comes in 500ml. The actual lotion is white, and is a little runnier than I would ...

It Provides Endless Relief.

Advantages: Easily absorbed and a great moisturising product
Disadvantages: None at all.

...I have been using the E45 Endless Moisture Body Milk for the last month now, I bought a 400ml pump action bottle for £4.99 from Boots the chemist. There are two types, one is lightly fragranced and the other is fragrance free, I always wear my own `smellies` so I chose the fragrance free body milk and then there is no chance that it will clash with any other fragrance that I wear. The white plastic bottle has a pump action nozzle which is a very ...

Have you ever had a day out shopping in the city and then cleaned your skin at night and have felt shocked at how dirty it is ? It is amazing how much pollution we have floating about in the atmosphere, take one good look at any make up removal pad after you have used it to verify that. The E45 Endless body milk ...

Upon removal of the bandages following my operation, my skin was flaky and very dry. Silky and smoooooth

Advantages: Moisturises, really does its job!
Disadvantages: Nothing, perhaps the greasiness?

...A friend recommended E45 to me after we were in Superdrug and I mentioned that I needed some more moisturiser. I was slightly dubious about buying it because the packaging looked very plain, and nothing fancy, and at £5.49 for 500ml, it was a lot to buy if I didn’t like it. However, 500ml for £5.49 is good value, because 200ml normally costs £3.50. So, I decided to go for it! The dermatological product has very plain packaging. The 500ml bottle ...

The rest of the writing says ‘Dermatological E45 moisturising lotion, soothes, softens and relieves dry and sensitive skin. Unperfumed- hypo-allergenic’. The packaging does hint as to what the product is about- it’s simple, not fussy, and doesn’t come with any extra frills. So, it’s the next morning, just had a shower, time to moisturise! E45 gives me a rash

Advantages: Works for some people
Disadvantages: Brings me out in a rash, expensive

Although I was prescribed E45 by my G P, and was given a great big pot free on the NHS, E45 seems to aggrivate my excema rather than relieving it. Like gozzer, I have large patches of excema on my legs, but after application, my symtoms increased dramatically. I guess this works for some people, and my reaction was not serious, so it is probably worth giving it a go. I think it is pretty expensive to buy, though, so if you are eligible for free ...
...:-) I also have some excema on my face, which is far more annoying as, although it is not aggrivating, it is far more visible! Although I haven't actually tried it on my large patches of excema on my legs, petroleum jelly (Vaseline) works wonders on my face. I would recommend giving it a go - it is dirt cheap, easy to get hold of, and I doubt it would cause any allergic reactions. ...

quick and effective skin healer and moisturiser!

Advantages: good skin healer and moisturiser for problem skin!
Disadvantages: a bit pricey and the smell is a bit off

...I was introduced to E45 by a friend. I knew about this brand long time ago, but thought that it was only for people with eczema or other more serious skin problems. At the end, i decided to give it a try. Did not like the smell for a start, and it is quite oily. For dry and sensitive skin

Advantages: good product
Disadvantages: none

I didn’t know much about E45 products until a friend of mine who had excema used to use this product and it seemed to be controlling it better than any other product that I decided to give it a go myself. E45 Lotion

Advantages: It works well
Disadvantages: Cheaper alternatives work almost as well

Have used E45 Lotion since I have had eczema on my legs. The eczema is only mild, and the E45 helps a lot to get rid of the itching. This Lotion is much like E45 Cream, except it is easier to use to cover large areas, like legs. The price is OK, but I have found that cheaper own brand lotions from Boots can do the same job, so I tend to use them more now. Overall, E45 Lotion is a good buy, but you might want too check to make sure that you are not ...
