Advantages Advantages Soothes and softens skin

Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite expensive; a bit greasy

Over the past month or so, I have been suffering from dry, chapped skin on my hands. It has been especially bad on my knuckles and my skin has been very red and itchy. Initially, I blamed this on the cold, snowy weather, but when my hands didn't get any better when the weather turned milder, I thought I should splash out on some hand cream to try to cure the problem. One of my work colleagues who suffers from eczema recommended I try E45 hand cream, as it soothes sensitive skin and relieves itching. I took her advice and bought a bottle of E45 Moisturising Lotion. The obvious advantage of a ... more

Advantages Advantages its safe for all the family and it works!

Disadvantages Disadvantages it is rather expensive, and a bit greasy

I have dermatitis and have tried many different moisturisers and creams. The best I have used is only available by prescription as it contains steroids. I have found that E45 lotion is a good second and easier to get hold of than the other cream I use. E45 is available in many different forms and my opinion is just related to the E45 lotion. The E45 products are made by Crookes healthcare, along with several other skin care products. E45 is fairly expensive I think the 200ml bottle I have cost about £3.50, however I use it everyday on my face and about 4 times a day on my hands and the bottle ... more

    Advantages Advantages moisturises, cheap

    Disadvantages Disadvantages slightly greasy

Hiya, I am one of the many people that have dry flaky skin no matter what they do, and I have a bottle of every moisturiser going, and this has to be one of the best! E45 is made by Crookes Healthcare, which is now part of the company Boots. Sir William Crooke and his son Henry first set up Crookes Healthcare in 1912. Other products which have been produced by Crooks healthcare are Strepsils Clerasil, Nurofen and Optrex. There are many different types of E45 products available, and I have the Moisturising lotion. I have dry flaky skin as I have already said. I get especially on my arms and ... more

Advantages Advantages Very reliable, makes my skin feel great, very light formula

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slightly pricier than rock bottom products, doesn't pamper you

Finding the perfect moisturiser can be a tricky business! Of course we all love to pamper ourselves, but sometimes you just want a basic product that will get the job done with no fuss, no irritation and no hefty price tag. This is that product for me, and for that reason I find it completely indispensible. E45 moisturising lotion is designed for people with dry or sensitive skin. I don’t naturally suffer from either of these problems, but I do struggle very much with achieving a good balance in my skin’s condition! I suffered from acne for a couple of years and I’ve been using a benzoyl ... more

Advantages Advantages Easily absorbed and a great moisturising product

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None at all.

The Summer months are the best time of the year, the sunlight lifts our moods and on the whole it generally improves our well being. But the sun plays havoc with my already dry skin, I start to develop extra dry skin patches and my skin feels itchy, I don't have a skin infection or eczema or pruritus I just have skin that is sensitive to the sunlight. In turn the itchy skin disrupts my sleep and drives me mad during the day. I have been using the E45 Endless Moisture Body Milk for the last month now, I bought a 400ml pump action bottle for £4.99 from Boots the chemist. There are two types, one ... more

Sir William Crooke and his son Henry founded Crookes Healthcare in 1912. However in 1971 the Company was sold to the chemist giant Boot’s, and is now part of Boots Healthcare International. Crookes Healthcare has fourteen household brands under its belt but the most famous are probably: Nurofen (Pain relief); Strepsils (Sore throat relief); Clerasil (spot relief); Optrex (sore eye relief); and E45 creams and lotions. Advantages Advantages Moisturises, really does its job!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Nothing, perhaps the greasiness?

The condition of your skin is one which you should never take for granted, and it is important you look after it!! I moisturise my skin every day, and with the summer days arriving, it’s even more important to look after your skin. My legs often get quite dry, and particularly so after being outside after using sun cream. Also, with the summer weather comes skirts, and I was not keen for letting people see my flaky, dry pins! (that’s legs by the way…). And the level of flaky skin was actually quite considerable, so I knew I needed to combat this, and combat it fast. A friend recommended E45 to ... more

Advantages Advantages SOFTENS AND SOOTHES DRY SKIN

    Disadvantages Disadvantages VERY GREASY

Since the birth of my third child i have suffered from eczema, which comes in different forms of severity. I get an extreme bout of eczema when i am stressed, which is very painful. I have gone for a few years without treating it, not knowing what the skin condition was. Then i was recommened "e45" by the paractice nurse at my doctors surgery. ABOUT E45 E45 is a dematological moisturising lotion which claims to " soothe, soften, relive dry and sensitive skin". It is an unperfumed lotion which is also hypo allergenic. Not all products on the market can be used all over the body, but e45 can be ... more

For anyone with sensitive skin then I recommend them any E45 product. I use the E45 Moisturising lotion on my hands and arms when I get mild excema. This product is excellent for first of all stop it from itching. It’s excellent at absorbing into the skin, and it doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy and clammy. You can buy E45 Moisturising cream from any supermarket or chemist and with anyone who has easily sensitive skin then this is a very good product. I buy a bottle or about £3.99 and it will last me a month or so. I have heard that you can get an allergic reaction from this ... more

Advantages Advantages Works for some people

Disadvantages Disadvantages Brings me out in a rash, expensive

Although I was prescribed E45 by my G P, and was given a great big pot free on the NHS, E45 seems to aggrivate my excema rather than relieving it. Like gozzer, I have large patches of excema on my legs, but after application, my symtoms increased dramatically. I guess this works for some people, and my reaction was not serious, so it is probably worth giving it a go. I think it is pretty expensive to buy, though, so if you are eligible for free prescriptions it may be worth talking to your doctor! :-) I also have some excema on my face, which is far more annoying as, although it is not ... more
