...of my time in the Early Learning Centre (ELC), and the one range of toys that keeps me coming back for more is their wooden toys. One of the first toys we bought in this range was the bucket of bricks.
~~~What you get~~~
The bricks come in a sturdy cardboard bucket that has a plastic lid and handle. There are a total of 100 bricks in a variety of shapes and colours. There are cubes, rectangular, triangular, arched and semi-circular bricks all ...
Colourful wooden erections.
Review of Early Learning Centre Wooden Bricks by
garleon
Advantages: Bright, tough, and lots of them.
Disadvantages: none to speak of
Parents everywhere listen up. NO BATTERIES NEEDED, NO ANNOYING TUNES and NO FLASHING LIGHTS!! ha haa haaa. If you don't have children you will not have a clue what I mean. For those who do, read on with glee.
What a simple idea. Take 100 bits of wood, shape them into cylinders, cubes and other geometric type shapes, paint them and sell them. Oh how I wish I had thought of that. Never mind. If you have a little one with a building / destroying habit, ...
Lets build a castle or a train station, maybe a house, or just a tall tower. We can use these building bricks they are not too big a brick. There are 100 in this bucket of bricks bought from the E. Advantages: creative, imaginative play
Disadvantages: they get everywhere
...It costs £10 from The Early Learning Centre, and it is suitable from 12 months plus. For ease of storage, it comes packaged inside a strong cardboard round container, with a plastic lid and handle, so you can carry it about.
As the pieces are wooden it is going to last some time, and i guess that maybe the paint could start to chip off eventually, but we've had this for 7 months now and it still looks as good as new, despite being one of my son's ...
ELC WOODEN BRICKS - WARNING
Review of Early Learning Centre Wooden Bricks by
McWynnie
Advantages: Great fun and you can let your imagination run wild
Disadvantages: I'm not sure 12-36 months is the correct age range for this toy
WARNING! My son was given these bricks for his 1st birthday. He is now 4 and has two little sisters (ages 1 and 2). Only last week my 2-year-old daughter came running through from her bedroom with the cube-shaped brick stuck in her mouth. It was extremely hard for me to remove as she had bitten into it and her top teeth were stuck in the wood. I did eventually manage to remove the brick but it did cause my daughter considerable distress.
I would ...
building madness
Review of Early Learning Centre Wooden Bricks by
ginger1969
Advantages: great fun for all kids, education at home helps them learn a variety of things
Disadvantages: children like to use whats at hand for a weapon and these do hurt, ouch
My kids love these bricks they always manage to use them no matter what they are playing. There are all sorts of shapes and colours for the kids to learn and they do love to build towers and see who's one is going to fall down first there's usually a bit of cheating when that goes on. I also use these bricks for when we are doing maths homework they are great for adding, dividing and multiplying. My daughter use's them as money for when she is playing ...
