So I’m a bit of a greenie. An Eco warrior. A friend to the planet. A green goddess even. Somewhere in the great evolutionary process, I lost sight of the need to persuade the world that green is best and that we should all be doing more to save the planet from burning up in a frazzled ball of too hot summers and freezing winters and melting ice caps and rising CO2 levels, and became content ... ...know if you read my Ecover Washing Powder review – but I did it, and it didn’t jump up and bite me on the bum! What it did do was make me feel even more pleased with myself for my efforts and look to further those efforts in the type of fabric softener to choose. Now I know vinegar does just as well as the silky, creamy, bottled fabric softener we all know and love, but I haven’t been that brave yet! The choice to change from my regular Comfort brand ...

Ecover are against Animal testing and instead test on students and other willing miscreants instead. So that is all right then.
This is one of the few fabric softeners that can are suitable for people with septic tanks to use, as it does not kill the bacteria that live in these tanks.

Advantages: Kind to everything Disadvantages: Not as 'smelly' as other chemically enhanced brands
...for me to change to Ecover quick smart.
Ecover is the obvious choice for anyone wanting to live a more sustainable way of life, this sustainability should be promoted throughout the country, by our government, not just for people who are willing to pay a little more for the benefits it will provide. Grr!
So I ditch my old softener, smell that artificial bluebell smell one last time and recycle the old bottle. Then, off to the Co-op to purchase ... ...blue(ish). Priced at £1.69 Ecover is 70p more than I'd normally pay but we are used to this treatment when buying ethically. Expect to pay between £1.69 and £2.50 for this product compared to around £1.80 for other brands, I can't say comparative in that sentence as there is no comparison to a product which doesn't harm the environment. I decide to use my normal Surf with the softener so I can ascertain the difference without using the Ecover powder ...

Since I started using Ecover Fabrice Softener I would not go back to the other popular brands. Although Ecover is not as scented as some of these it has a nice gentle smell. Instead of an over powering one which some of the other brands have. Costing about £1 a bottle at large supermarkets like Asda, Morrisons and Tesco. You can also buy large refill bottles on line direct from Ecover which work out even cheaper.

Advantages: Save the planet in nice soft clothes! Disadvantages: Bit more pricey than some brands
Ecover fabric softener is lovely to use either in the final rinse of a handwash or machine wash. It leaves clothes really nice and soft and smelling pleasant and clean. I find that it doesn't irritate or dry out my hands too much. It does seen quite thick so you don't have to use a lot, but it is more expensive than many other brands. All Ecover products are made from natural ingredients and completely degradable, so nothing at all is left which ... ...of plastic container, but some shops will refill for you. To be more environmentally friendly it could consider making a double concentrated product like Persil etc have recently brought out, thus reducing transport costs and lorries on the road.
I would still recommend it though, it's probably worth the little bit extra. ...

Well worth the extra expense, as you use less than ordinary conditioners, therefore a saving in the long run. Also useful is the website which has information on shops who have a refill service, thus saving money and resources and taking up less landfill space. We were immediately converted after the first use in our washing. We were impressed with the fragrance and softness of clothes after the wash. The ecological aspect is a bonus to the excellent ...
