I decided to give Ecover multi surface cleaner a go after reading the journalist Leo Hickman's Guide To Ethical Living column in the Guardian. There was a terrifying section in it about 'harmless' household cleaners and the strong chemicals we are inadvertently using in our home. Ecover Multi-Surface cleaner has been hailed as an ecologically sound alternative to harsh chemical-based multi-surface cleaners. It has all the cleaning power of a standard cleaner but without all the strong chemicals that can irritate so many people. Ecover is a company who produce cleaning products in an "ecological, economic and socially responsible way in a unique ecological factory." In other words they respect people and the environment. They use plant based ingredients, their production has minimal impact on the environment, they do not test their products on animals and all packaging is 100% recyclable. Used once and found to be so mild as to be completely ineffective and useless. A complete waste of money and I will not be buying again. In fact I will throw the rest down the sink instead of having it cluttering up my undersink cupboard. If only I could find supplies of good old Procter & Gamble Flash cleaning powder which was economical, perfectly effective and I only needed one product to do everything around the house. ...
