I have an Egg credit card and I was really happy with the service that I received from them. I had received an email about personal loans and I was previously with HSBC and certain that I was paying too much interest so I decided to shop around. My criteria was to find an unsecured loan with as low an interest rate as possible, flexible monthly payments and good service. I first looked at Cahoot, but the on line application form wasn't working so ... ...Plus if you have an Egg credit card you don't need to submit as many details because they already have them. Once you have filled in your details you provide a contact number and someone from Egg underwriting will call you back with the decision.
If you need to know straight away you can call 08456 000 291 and they will tell you there and then.
I applied on line and within 24 hours a very helpful Egg representative called me back with the answer ...

I found Egg after doing a number of online loan applications that were long and frankly arduous that ultimately lead to me being contacted by telephone at some point in the proceedings. The main criteria that formed the basis of my selection were:
A low interest rate.
The flexibility to pay the loan off early.
The option of payment breaks

Basically Egg ticked all the right boxes in my case and after drawing a number of comparisons between the AA, Lloyds TSB, HSBC and Abbey National I decided to go ahead a use Egg for the £15,000 unsecured personal loan over a 3 year period. I love being an Egg customer and use a variety of their products including the Egg Card, Egg Money, Savings, Loan and Egg Money Manager. As with most Egg products, their loan is excellent. Taking out a loan is a long term commitment and the Egg loan offers some very important features that could save you a lot of money in the long run.

The registration process is comprehensive (takes about 15 minutes all up) but you have the option to continue later if you don't have much time. Once you have submitted the form, they tell you that you will hear in 2 days and I heard in exactly that. Much to my relief, they accepted my application with an APR of 11.5%. I have just got an Egg Loan. I went to them to pay off an Overdraft - my Bank is ripping me off in Charges to pay Directors Fees and expanding abroad. Grrr
I thought of Egg first, as I got an Egg card many years ago, when it was still a bit of a novelty to apply on-line. They were an offshoot of the Prudentail and were targetting the 'young' market - whenever I called their Call Centre there was pop music playing in the background.

I applied for my Egg loan in order to sort out some smaller debts, which have occurred over the years. I only applied for £2000 to begin with.
I'm not that knowledgeable on the subject of loans but being an Internet boffin I’d heard the name a few times. I took a peek at the site at first and everything seemed to be in order and the site is well constructed with everything opening quickly and I received no errors. From this point I looked around ... ...wont really miss that.
Egg asked me when I wanted the money to be drawn out a month, which was also pleasing.
I got approved a day or two later and this was confirmed by email as was the initial application. The paper work was in my hands two days later. There were two signatures and the agreement was back in the post the same day. The loan was in my account tree days after that.

I took out an Egg Loan a year ago. It was easy to apply online and I got a decision within a couple of days. Everything went smoothly until this December.
I am moving my business and it will not be ready to open until April and I would have no incoming money coming in throughout that period. I decided to take the option of a payment break for three months (January, February and March).
I have several Bank Accounts and one I use solely for Direct ... ...I returned to mayhem. Egg had mad a mistake, which they admitted to, and took a deposit from my account, leaving me overdrawn. Worse. My Bank returned another Direct Debit and a cheque as I was now overdrawn.
On contacting Egg, they admitted their mistake and said they would return the money, which they finally did three weeks later. They also paid me money my Bank charges me for being overdrawn.

I have been using egg now for a couple of different loans and what a difference it has made compared with other methods. This is flexibility at its best. Choose the amount and how much you want to pay per month or how long you want for. It is that easy. Paperwork arrives very quickly and the stuff is so easy to make sense of. First I went to their website. www.egg.com, very easy address to remember. I checked out their loan calculator which was reccomended by various people and did find it very useful. I read through their protection plan and the option to pay more one month towards your loan if you'd like. They had all the information i needed including payment options choices of having upto a 3 month break ... ...was an easy to navigate site which had all the information you need. you can apply online for as little as £1000 which not all companies do. I decided to ring up because they can take up to two days over the internet to tell you if you've been accepted whereas they tell you straight away over the phone.

...I received a letter from egg inviting me to apply for a loan. Usually, I would tear these letters up and throw them in the bin, however something popped out at me from the page - 6.9%!! Realising that I was paying almost 14% on two credit cards and a whopping 18.5% on a personal loan, I decided to get a quote and see if I could save myself some money!
I went to egg.com, and was pleasantly surprised to find that , unlike most of these offers, there ... ...your loan anytime through the egg internet banking website.
2)egg are open 24/7, either through the telephone or net. Customer service is wonderful, the staff could not be more pleasant and helpful.
3)After you have made six payments to your loan account, you can a repayment holiday of up to three months - a good option for over the Christmas period perhaps?

...got a £5000 loan from Egg and was a bit apprehensive when I was offered the loan with no proof of income and with such a simple quick online form. They have however been a pleasure to deal with, everything is done quick and the Internet Money Manager is a God Send meaning you can handle all your accounts from one place - including non-egg accounts! After getting a loan Ive been so impressed Ive gone on to get a Credit Card and a savings account. ... ...recommend Egg particularly if you are internet literate and like simplicity. If however you prefer dealing with people over the phone/in person then a bank may bne better off for you, although you may have to pay a bit extra for the priveledge. Tip : Avoid the Payment Protection Insurance ...

I've got an egg loan for £2000. Not much in the loan world, so a standard apr (for a self employed person in my position) is around the 18% mark. I have an egg card and was accessing my account details when I saw an advert for loans at 9.9% (half anything else I have been quoted). I applyed online and received confirmation later that day. With an egg loan you can make extra payments (if have a bit of extra cash) and there is no penalty fee to pay, ... ...entitled to take a payment break of a amximum of 3mths, perfect for a holiday or around christmas. The customer service team are very helpful, and make sure that you understand everything before you agree to your loan, and once it has been set up you know that there is a good team there waiting to help you with any quieries. ...

Egg is a very good company to get a loan with, I recommend them to any one.
You can have 3 months a year off of payment, although you do get a small charge for that, but it is there if you want it this is good for Xmas time if you are running low on cash! :0)
