Advantages: Great mid-high range speaker Disadvantages: not so good bass
Introduction
The Electro-voice SX300 PA speaker is an extremely lightweight PA speaker, but still delivers in both sound quality and volume as bigger and heavier speakers. I myself bought these speakers for use as monitors for my music studio, but since then I have used them for discos and other activities at my school, as they are easy to transport. I use these speakers with two EV bass cabinets and power them with two peavey power amplifiers. ... ...in small-medium sized venues.
Construction
The SX300's are made mainly of plastic but they do have metal fixings on them to secure the whole cabinet. The speaker mesh on the SX300 is solid metal, not the cheap bendy stuff, and takes a lot of force to damage it. On one side of the cabinet is a handle, in my opinion it would have been better to have a handle on either side, as when you try to carry two at a time you sometimes end up bashing them ...
