Advantages Advantages It's a lovely squishy soothing cream...

Disadvantages Disadvantages ...but it comes at a hefty price.

So then, would you like to hear about the good bits or the bad bits first? As I'm in control I'm going to opt for giving you the good bits first to try and lessen the impact of the bad bits... GOOD BITS I think Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream (hereafter refered to as EA8 lest my fingers drop off) is honestly the best thing since sliced bread. It's one of those things you can't see any earthly good in until you experience it for yourself, at which point you convert whole heartedly to the inherent Eight Hour religion. I am one such convert. EA8 is really whatever you want it to be. More of a ... more

Advantages Advantages It accentuates facial features you know!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Cost and maybe the smell.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream - 50ml - circa £25 - typically from department stores such as Debenhams and the likes. I bought mine from duty free at East Midlands Airport, costing me £16.49 and the young lady providing me assistance wrongly assumed it was for my girlfriend!! Brownie points were quite evidently beamed in my direction as the young lady serving me thought … "what a nice young gentleman, thinking of his girlfriend and buying her a present on the outbound journey". Actually, she was probably thinking about knocking off and getting down the pub with her mates, but that's ... more

Advantages Advantages Is a multi functional product can be used for various things

Disadvantages Disadvantages Smell may be off putting for some people

There are some products which come onto the beauty scene and take the world by storm, some are a quick flash in the pan but others remain to be stable favourites of customers and beauty editors all over the world. This product falls into the latter category. Originally launched in around 1934 Elizabeth Arden’s 8 Hour Cream is one of the company’s most popular items, so popular that in 1989 it was re-launched onto the market. It is one of those products that regularly crops up in magazines in top ten product lists and on beauty pages as a highly recommended product. The cream which has been ... more

Advantages Advantages Brilliant for an array of uses

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Smells vile

I'd lost count of thenumber of times I have read about various celebrities chuntering on about this 'wonder cream' from Elizabeth Arden. It was always in the back of my mind that'one day' I would treat myself to some and see what all the fuss was about. As mother's day approached this year, my daughter kept on asking me 'Mum, is there anything you'd like?' I refrained from the usual, flowers, chocolates routine, and in a voice loud enough so her dad could hear, I mouthed...."Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Moisturising Cream". The following day, both daughter and her dad disappeared for several ... more

Advantages Advantages The multiple uses of this magic lotion

Disadvantages Disadvantages Same old gripe, the price

Good old Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, the lotion that every girl in the whole of the world must know of/used/heard about, now i am going to tell you some more about it to expand your knowledge: Colour: medium brown Texture: Thick & squeezy (like your vaseline goes when its overheated) Smell: Medicated smell (that is probably the easiest way to describe it. I love the smell of it, however i do like the smell of products that other people generally dont) Price: approx 19 pound for a 50ml tube. Packaging: A long white tube with the elizabeth arden logo and name of product on the front in small ... more

Advantages Advantages Miracle cream, pure wonderfullness!!!!!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Taste (not that anyone other than me would try a smidge)

If I was told I could only have one beauty product to take with me on a dessert island this would, without a shadow of a doubt be it. This is the only Elizabeth Arden product that I own. I brought my Eight Hour skin protectant cream in Debenhams last year whilst on holiday for around £17. The one I own is in a small cylindrical pot and is a limited edition 80's style. I loved the design, fun and cheerful looking. I personally prefer this packaging to the original but both have the same contents. I can't see the amount on my pot but I have a feeling it is around 30ml. I was recommended this ... more

Advantages Advantages Heals and Soothes skin.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Price, can take a while to absorb.

Before I bought Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream I had read about it in magazines with lots of Celebrities citing it as one of there "Must have" beauty products. As ever my inquisitive nature took over and I decided to invest in a tube to find out what I have been missing. So of I went to my local Debenhams and asked the Beauty Advisor for a tube of this recommended cream. The Cream cost me £18 for a 50ml tube. I know this is also available at other department stores so it may be possible to buy this cheaper. The eight hour cream comes in an off white box with the Elizabeth Arden logo on the ... more

Advantages Advantages Has multiple uses, smells nice

Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite expensive for a cream

I am quite a low maintenance sort of girl, I don't really tend to wear make up but one beauty product I cant do without (aside from my perfume) is my Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream. Up until a couple of years ago, I had never even heard of this product. I went on holiday with my best friend and got sunburnt lips while I was there, she introduced me to Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream and I have used it ever since and was quite shocked that I had never heard of it before. This cream was first around about 70 years ago and was originally intended to be used on miner skin irritations, for chapped or ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages ...Is rather oily and does resember a squeezable version of vaseline

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, appears to feature in pretty much every beauty and fashion magazine I had ever owned ... So being a sucker for advertisement and word of mouth fantastic ratings from friends I thought I'd give it a whirl .... ..... I purchased this while working at Eurotunnel so I did get discount standard price in general isn't to pricey for what the product does, Never has it been truer you get what you pay for!! The product is packaged in a simple but elegant white tube with an easy access screw lid - I personally love the understated design - Buying the smaller version myself ... more

    Advantages Advantages Very versatile.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive and oily.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream was initially recommended to me by a close friend, the same friend who has introduced me to many of my most trusted beauty products. I have quite a strict skincare routine, I have rather sensitive skin which if neglected really can look dreadful. I didn’t instantly buy this product, I couldn’t understand what it was or how I would benefit, y’see this cream wont replace your daily moisturiser and cannot be compared to any other product I know. Anyways after much recommendation from both friend and magazine articles alike I finally took the plunge and purchased ... more
