"...watching not playing!! The thing is, England as a team aren’t that good. They do well, but they aren’t the best in the world, which is just the same as every other sport really! ..." Read review

England sail pasta Italy in try orgy

AdvantagesSensational 2nd Half Rugby

DisadvantagesComplacency could cost dear

"...a lacklustre, tetchy affair and England were lucky to go in at the interval 10 points to the good. But in the second half they were a simply awesome attacking force as the Italians capitulated under immense English pressure, conceding a massive 47 points without reply. A criticism often levelled at England is that when they get ahead in a game they lack the "killer instinct" often displayed by their Southern Hemisphere counterparts. Not so on Saturday ..." Maybe the Best

AdvantagesBest team ever

DisadvantagesMay choke

"...a difficult birth ensuing, the England man has proved that family does come above sport in stark contrast to Nasser Hussein taking his pregnant partner on the cricketer’s tour of Oz. I thought that this was a nice finish to an excellent weekend for the national team. In retrospect, the previous encounter at Twickenham had proved a false comparison, what with the barbarous tactics of the Boks that day resulting in them playing the game out with ..." Read review

Time to move on.... and set the game on fire

AdvantagesGood Strong Base, WORLD CHAMPIONS!!

DisadvantagesNo Johnson, Negative Image, Injury List

"...last few seconds didn't matter, England could hold out. I remember the feeling as everyone at my rugby club went mad, first at the sight of the drop goal, then the final whistle and then as Englands greatest captain lifted the Webb Ellis Trophy above his head, pure elation! Looking back on that night now though it needs to be looked at in perspective, the final was possibly one of the greatest contests ever seen on a rugby field, and the game against ..." Read review

Must get better

AdvantagesOfficially the worlds best when we beat Australia on Saturday

DisadvantagesGot to do it when it counts

"...more I like than watching England beat New Zealand but lets be honest it wasnt the most convincing performance ever. 31-28 against a weakened New Zealand at home is nothing to shout about. A win is a win fair enough but will there be the same result in Australia in the world cup? Not if we dont get better it wont. Look at the facts of the recent match. New Zealand missed two fairly simple penalties at goal. They looked sharper and more direct in ..." Read review

Swing low sweet chariot

AdvantagesGreat team, excellent squad, my fave player (Jason Robinson) and a whole lot more

DisadvantagesNeed to keep a cool head, and get the basics right

"...there nothing better than seeing England giving someone a good stuffing. Sports wise us English probably have more success in rugby (well recently). We are the main contenders for the six nations all the time, and we certainly are with out a doubt the best Northern Hemisphere team out there. We can beat France, Italy, Scotland (always a tough match), Ireland you name it, we can beat it on our good day. But then you get the three side who England can ..." Read review

Its coming home

AdvantagesA strong squad with great morale

DisadvantagesWhen missing the odd key player, they can be weakened

"...many of the games did England win? All three! I was feeling a bit down when the Australian game was on. That very morning, my long-time girlfriend had split up with me and I really didn't fancy doing anything but veg out in front of the TV. My mood altered slightly by the end of this game though, when Dan Luger's outstretched hand pulled down the cleverly hefted through ball from Iain Balshaw! The game had been close throughout, but that last ..." Read review

England 2000-2001

Advantages

Disadvantages

"The current England team are clearly worthy or secondary status falling behind the Australians and the All Blacks. If we were to adopt some of their training strategies then maybe we could be in the same league. This coming seasons matches should prove very interesting, where we probabaly have parity in the forwards and need to be somewhat more dynamic in our three quarter play we can only hope that with the introudcution of Horran, Little, and ..." Hardly Sudden Impact!!

Advantages

Disadvantages

"...this page are claiming that England are 'suddenly' considered to be gaining on the Southern Hemisphere. I have witnessed their rise for the last couple years; hardly sudden. Admittedly we were still being defeated, but the games were always very close, and all too frequently came down to the superior experience in these close games from the SH teams than a massive skill difference. I believe we are gaining the experience and confidence to raise ..." Read review

Lets not head in the same directin as football!!

Advantages

Disadvantages

"Over the course of last season i watched many games of rugby, from internationals down to the Jewson leagues. I thougholy enjoiyed the quality of rugby played by many teams from the southern hemisphere, as i'm sure did many others, but what pleased me more was the quality of rugby i witnessed back home in England. What it was that impressed me was the quality of rugby played by youngsters in such established teams. The likes of Steve Hanley and Ian ..." Read review

Is this Englands time?

Advantages

Disadvantages

"...five years really should see England grow as a world force. We have as good a defence as any side in the world, our forwards are probably better than any others, and our backs are coming along. Are we about to move into a golden age. I really hope so, I think professionalism has closed the gap on the southern hemisphere, and it would be great if the South Sea Islanders were taken away from the New Zealanders and it would make it closer still. My ..." Read review

Job well done

AdvantagesDisciplined, professional performance

DisadvantagesNone

"England put on an impressive, highly professional performance today to beat Wales 44-15 in the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff. I enjoyed watching the match and thought that there was a terrific atmosphere. as could have been expected Wales threw everything at England in the first few minutes and were somewhat unlucky not to score. England gradually quietened the crowd and began to control things by creating width which stetched the Welsh defence. Will ..." Read review

It had to happen one day

AdvantagesBrilliant players, exciting style

DisadvantagesNone

"...go, after all this time, England finally has a Rugby team that can beat all comers. We never thought it would happen. There's been so many false dawns over the years when inflated egos finally got what was coming to them against first class opposition, but it really does look like we've broken through at last. England's results and more importantly their style of play have really come of age over the last couple of years and we have a side that ..." Read review

The Sweetest of Chariots

AdvantagesSuperb teamplay, handling, tackling.....

DisadvantagesTendancy to go to sleep a little

"...with my dad, to watch England V Italy. Everyone was expecting a big score. But I don't think anyone expected England to be 7-0 down in 5 minutes. Last week England had proved to be a mighty force to reckon with against the Welsh. In the Internationals against Austrailia, Argentina and South Africa late last year they were undefeated. Perhaps this had lead to a belief that Italy were no match for them and this would be an easy ride. Eventually England ..." Read review

England Swinging Low

AdvantagesTeam Spirit

DisadvantagesLack of flair

"Its no use England harping on about being the best when the big 3 in the south are still ahead of us. The tri-nations shows how weak South Africa are at the moment and we only just drew with them. Sure we had made improvements and we are on an upward curve but playing the standard in the 6 nations does not help us to improve. when we play Australia and New Zealand they are always one step ahead of us in terms of tactics and general play, it semms ..."
