    Advantages Advantages Broad course, good choice.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Have to have a go at everything in the first year...OLD ENGLISH IS CRAP

    My course, well I've just finished my first year of it, and am looking forward to my second year. It's an interesting take on an English course as the University doesn't do a straight English Lit degree. Hence in your first year you'll do a mix of Lit, Lang, Anglo Saxon, basically a very varied look at the subject from all angles. The second and third years offer a lot of freedom of choice, and because of the broadness of the first year (which doesn't count towards your degree), you'll be in a good position to know what you like.     Advantages Advantages Scope for learning more than just literature; Good tutors

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not quite sure what it wants to be; Old English is pointless

    I attended this course up intil the end of the second semester, when I withdrew because I was unhappy with it (for reasons that I will go into later). Just to clarify, I'm not saying don't attend this course, but just that it wasn't right for me. Here's a breakdown of what I thought about the course, but this is only applicable for the first year: Modules: The course is VERY broad, so I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a straight literature course.
