Advantages: Playability, Price and Durability Disadvantages: Weight
I purchased an Epiphone Les Paul Gold Top because I had heard many great things about this guitar, and about the Les Paul range, and from the minute I plugged in to the minute I started ripping up some solos, this guitar has not once left me wanting more. For a start, the price I paid was £335, pretty similar to a Les Paul Standard, but the look of the Gold Top is mind blowing, the finish on the body coupled with the P90 Alnico pick ups leaves the ... ...you crank this guitar up to a high volume, and put the gain up towards 10, you get an absolutely incredible cutting distorted sound, not as crisp as a Les Paul standard, but much more defined. Played clean, the guitar can resonate some gorgeous tones. It carries a bit more weight than a standard, but it packs more of a punch. This is a MUST for any intermediate guitar player who cant afford a Gibson. ...
