    Advantages Advantages Good vintage P90 tones, great value for money

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Gold finish is a little overdone, now reduced to 'limited runs' only

    This is Epiphone's licensed version of their parent company's famed Gibson '56 Goldtop Les Paul. The '56 Les Paul differed from models that came later due to the P90 pickups (most Les Pauls that followed were equipped with humbuckers) and the gold finish, suggested by Mr Les Paul himself to show a mark of quality in the instrument. This Chinese made reissue is, at about £350, much cheaper than the original Gibson, but of course makes a number of concessions to allow that to be the case.
