Advantages: Good quality at low cost - ideal Disadvantages: Difficulty in playing/ recognising DVD output
As a teacher - data projectors have openned up a whole new area for the classrooms and now offer complete interactivity with learning. Combined with an interactive board, your projector is a powerful learning tool.
As a head of department - I brough 5 of these and have not been let down yet except for my one gripe (see below).
I have them all mounted from the ceiling and all project onto a whiteboard or a SMART board.
The connections are simple ... ...data to the projector as if it was plug and play. However, the only thing I have had trouble with is when I play a DVD or an mpeg clip for the class, the data gets lost. Sometimes, its when I have it on battery power (I don't know if this is the reason or not) but when I plug the mains into my laptop, the laptop seems to have more 'juice' to send an image to the data projector. I know the F5 function on most laptops will send an image to a data projector.
