Advantages: Ease of use and stability Disadvantages: slight grey background in photocpy mode
...of the scanner launches the epson software (smart panel) and from there you can choose which option you want to use, such as photocopy (so it scans straight to your printer), scan to file, scan to web, email etc. You can even scan to convert the image to send to your PDA although that function I have not had need to try out.
Like all scanners there's a bit of noise whilst it is doing its job and in the copy mode you get a slightly grey background ...
