...at around £15 for genuine Epson cartridges which although cheaper alternatives are available from some retailers and mail order places they might not be worth the risk. If you have a genuine problem with the printer and have not been using genuine cartridges don’t bother to waste your time trying to claim under the warranty as it won’t be valid. The printer when purchased does come with one of each of the cartridges.

Epson C44 UX Printer
I would like to tell Ciao members of a fantastic printer I use and to recommend it to them as a very serious option for them. I must add that I am surprised there were no other reviews about this printer.

...and it never worked again.
The Epson C44UX in a marvelous printer, and of very good value. The package came with the lead (which you usually have to buy separately) extra ink, and a packet of photo quality paper, which can be pricey.
I hooked the printer up to my PC very easily, it has USB connections, so it's easy to connect, and it was really easy to install.
Not having a photo printer before but having loads of photos on my PC I wanted ...

Advantages: Quick and neat machine, very cheap Disadvantages: Little noisy, epson cartidges quite expensive
...of tech. However, the replacement Epson cartidges are a little over priced.
I origionally had an Epson C42 for quite some time but the paper feed started to go a bit do-lally. Not surprising as i had used it an awful lot being a very busy active student with most resources on the net which hard copies are needed of. I decided to stick with the brand because of disappointments with most of the other major brands. This is truly the best for me.
Ironically, ...

The Epson Stylus C44UX has some good features when you ask it to print, it has 5 quality settings, 3 print options, many paper sizes and quality of papers to chose from.
Ink levels can clearly be seen when printing.
From time to time Ithe print heads need cleaning and this is also very easy to do, you can check the alignment of the print heads, do a nozzle check along with clean the printer heads with a click of ...

Advantages: inexpensive, good for general and family use Disadvantages: replacement ink cartridges are expensive, can be slow
id say that the Epson Stylus C44 printer is fairly good for most use around the home. although i got ripped off at £65 for the thing a few months ago, when it can be bought for half that in many places, i use it alot.
the ink cartridges are expensive to replace (£18-£25), so i tend to print in "draft" quality when the option is available and the documents are not that important. cartridges are easy to replace howvere.
it prints at approximately ...

Space saving
I am very satisfied with my little Epson. It sits happily in the space in my Argos computer desk and hasn't required any maintenance.
U.S.B. connection
I find it annoying that printers as a whole do not come with U.S.B. leads. I think it cost me about £10 for a U.S.B. lead, but it's not just Epson which doesn't supply ...

...the ink)
The ink is not Epson made, but Epson compatible & personal; I see no difference in quality of printing. The only downside to the cheap ink is, if you leave it un used for a long time after installing the ink into the printer... it can dry up or become blocked... so print head cleaning will happen time to time, but that is no issue really if you use it often.
Now, for draft printing, it can pump out sheets of like 10-15 sheets a minute, ...

Easy to use printer with high quality output at a good speed for a great price. The printer looks cool and is a piece of cake to operate. Not withstanding comment about cartridge change instructions.
