...opinion is on the standard Epson Stylus Colour 850 not the NE one (i understand that is the network version). Anyway, I have owned mine now for at least 2 years so I feel justified in voicing my opinion of it!
I paid £179-90 to be precise for this printer from Dabs Direct (before it became Dabs.com), which at the time was good value as it was still retailing in the likes of Dixons for £220 or so.

Advantages: Fast, efficient and quality is second to none Disadvantages: Bit slow sometimes
...- excellent - I used Epson Photopaper for the real natty project covers - they turn out great. There is very little barring and the colour is very, very realistic and true to the original photo source.
The software that comes with it is ample and you can clean, check and adjust your printer from the desktop using the provided utilities.
Overall - I am wel pleased - and when this eventually gives up the ghost I will stick with Epson. Yep I know ...

Originally we had an Epson Colour 600 that we bought several years ago and it did us just fine but when it packed up (as these things eventually do!) we decided we would prefer to get something a little quicker to print with.
The 850 is certainly that!
I have to say that there is very little difference in print quality, but it is heaps faster!

This epson printer is bordering on the windows workgroup highend user market and it shows, with reliable parts and a larger ink tank than most epsons.
the print quality is very good and little banding is in effect on the colour printing, the print quality on coated paper is very good only slightly as good as the epson photo printer.
The print speed on the epson 850 is very good and this beauty just streams pages out almost as fast as a lazer ...
