We brought an epson stylus 1200 printer from a friend for the great price of £200, this buy was well worth it if you intend to do a lot of printing in the photographic area, and if you wish to go bigger than A4, for this is an A3 printer. I would recomend you buy this printer if you are heavily into photography, and want the best results. If we had got this printer for such a great price we would have missed out on a great printer. The disadvantage would have been the retail price, but still it would be worth it's weight in gold. the quality is great when used with the specified paper. ... more

    Advantages Advantages Uses 6 colours

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

This is a great printer. I had previously used the Epson 600 for several years, but this printer is much better for two reasons: 1. It uses six color inks instead of four (adds light cyan and light magenta to the color ink cartridge), and 2. It prints on paper up to 13" wide. The Epson photo paper is a great buy at around £5 for 20 sheets, or about £0.25 per sheet. I have also recently been experimenting with archival quality papers from Lumijet and Legion. A couple of my favorites are Luminous Parchment and Classic Velour. Colors look great! Go to www.inkjetmall.com for more information. I ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent photo quality output

Disadvantages Disadvantages Takes time for an A3+ image - but just make a cuppa!

I have now been using the Epson 1200 for a couple of years and have found the reliability excellent. Because I use it professionally for digital imaging, with the emphasis on high quality B+W images, my requirements are very stringent. I have been known for the highest quality conventional photographic quality, so I only moved into digital image output when this printer came on the market. It is still satisfying all my highest standards. I print using the compatible and excellent PrintRite ink cartridges, which I have found give excellent stable images if printing on acid and wood free art ... more

    Advantages Advantages Excellent colour output

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Small ink cartridges

We bought this product on the advice of a third party for inhouse business communications and graphic design. It has been well worth the investment and I am totally amazed by its output capability. The output resolution is very high, and gives very good digital camera output performance without too much compensating in touch up software. Coupled with a half decent scanner, I would recommend this printer for anyone who wants full colour output at a reasonable cost. Ideal for home business also. The only drawback is the phenomenal rate at which you can go through ink cartridges. ... more

Advantages Advantages Good photo quality printing

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slow by today's standards. Surprised if you could find one for sale now.

I have had one of these printers for a good few years and it has given me trouble free, excellent quality print outs of everything I have needed. I used to be a graphic designer and used it for all of my layouts for clients and a lot of photographic printing. The colour was, with a little bit of tweaking, excellent. Although A3, it does not print edge to edge therefore you get approximately an 8-10 mm white border. I can't imagine you can still buy this printer - unless you want to buy mine :O) If you see one up for sale secondhand I can certainly vouch for the quality of printout assuming it ... more
