Advantages: Superb Photo Quality Printer Disadvantages: Manual is on CD
...I opted for the superb Epson R200.
After several weeks of waiting for the printer to come into Argos, I finally got a text message to say that the printer was in stock. So off I went to my local Argos and picked up my printer and straight back home.
Now the R200 is quite a fair size, but amazingly it’s not that heavy and as with all Epson printers it is extremely well built and sturdy.
Anyway, upon getting home I unpacked the R200 and followed ... ...It also comes with the Epson Print CD software, now this IS impressive, the R200 comes with a special tray that you place a printable CD in, or place a label on a CD such as the Fellowes disc labels, design your CD and then just print it out.
The CD printing software is a dream to use, the only thing that holds you back on your CD design is your own imagination, and it is quite quick at printing on the CD/DVD and the print quality is professional. ...

The R200 is one of the first printers to allow you to print directly to a printable DVD or CD, this in itself is a great concept and makes the standard DVD or CD look that much more professional. Use it for creating your own CD or DVD make it stand out from the crowd!

Im no techy, so I apologise in advance for this low tech review of this printer. This is a review based for your average PC user, not teccy buffs.
Anyway, i recently bought this great printer for a nifty £84 (from John Lewis). I looked around at the competition, and I chose this printer for the follwoing reasons:
1) Its small and looks decent
2) Competitively priced compared to other printers
3) Uses different cartridges for different colours ... ...you only need to change that cartridge (unlike other brands available, where you have to change the whole cartridge, a real waste!)
4) Great photo prining ability
5) Recommended by a John Lewis sales assistant (almost always a good bet!)

Advantages: Easy to use Disadvantages: Only likes its own brand paper
The Epson Photo R200 is a well thought-out, well designed little printer. It has a front tray that folds up out of the way when not in use; it has a nice compact rounded design that makes it easy to position in the home environment; it has two USB ports: one front, one back; it does not require a transformer (which is the disadvantage of HP printers). Regarding the print quality, the R200 can produce sharp clear prints, however it is very fussy about the paper you give it. Unless you use Epson paper, the results are quite poor actually. On HP photo paper, the ink literally sat on the surface and smeared off. I have not ...

Advantages: Excellent photo quality, disc printing, 6 ink cartridges Disadvantages: Can produce poor text output
I have owned this printer since Easter 2004 and found it to be excellent for printing photos. General graphics are also usually very good indeed, except for fades, such as a colour fading to transparent with another colour behind, as can be done with PowerPoint or similar. The printer either seems to ignore the fade or ugly lines appear between tones instead of it being a continuous transition.

The supplied disc design and printing software can be used to produce good looking discs to a similar standard as normal paper printing.

Having six ink cartridges means that colour ...
