Advantages Advantages Quiet, Quality of print, flexibility

Disadvantages Disadvantages Fiddly CD printing tray

Having last owned a colour printer several years ago, (despite my modesty, I'll own up to it being a dot matrix!), I approached the purchase of this printer with some trepidation. Having initially been won over by the excellent quality of the demonstration print displayed with the printer, I was equally enamoured of the ability to print onto printable CD/DVD. The printer itself was very easy to set up (although, I found the instructions for installing the CD printing tray to be very "obtuse", consisting of a series of icons, without any written instructions.). A few minutes later, and I was ... more

Advantages Advantages Superb Photo Quality Printer

Disadvantages Disadvantages Manual is on CD

It was that time again when I needed a new printer, so I opted for the superb Epson R200. After several weeks of waiting for the printer to come into Argos, I finally got a text message to say that the printer was in stock. So off I went to my local Argos and picked up my printer and straight back home. Now the R200 is quite a fair size, but amazingly it’s not that heavy and as with all Epson printers it is extremely well built and sturdy. Anyway, upon getting home I unpacked the R200 and followed the instructions on setting it up on my PC, this was so easy a child could do it, just simple ... more

Advantages Advantages Quality for the price, CD printing

Disadvantages Disadvantages Ink usage and costs, occasional problems printing CDs

I bought this printer primarily because I needed to print good quality labels for CDs and DVDs. Self-adhesive labels are OK, but will never look professional, regardless of how well designed they are. This printer was one of very few budget inkjet printers to support CD printing, the other being a Canon Pixma. All the reviews suggested that not only did the Epson do a good job of printing CDs, it was also an excellent quality photo printer. I was therefore quite pleased to find out that this is most definitely the case! CD quality The printer will print onto "inkjet-printable" CDs. The quality ... more

Advantages Advantages Disc printing, cheap compatible cartridges readily available, quiet

    Disadvantages Disadvantages I'm thinking...

We only bought this printer because we happened to spot it one day on an online shop at a discounted price. Our old one was noisy, expensive to run and didn't produce very high quality prints so we went for it. We have never looked back; I can only praise this printer. Primarily, it was so easy to set up; it actually took longer getting those stupid polystyrene end shields that they put products like this in when in the box, out of the box and removing all the little bits of tape from the printer than it did plugging it in, installing it and printing. Really easy. You don't even need to read ... more

Advantages Advantages Fast, Reliable and Pretty Damn Good

Disadvantages Disadvantages A tad noisy, Can be a bit awkward to get used to

My girlfriend bought this for me as a gift and I honestly have to say its definately one of the best Inkjet printers on the market. I have used a number of Epson printers including the C62, CX3200 etc and I honestly can hold my hands up and say they are in my opinion the best printers for value of money. The R200 is one of the first printers to allow you to print directly to a printable DVD or CD, this in itself is a great concept and makes the standard DVD or CD look that much more professional. Use it for creating your own CD or DVD make it stand out from the crowd! Print Quality ... more

    Advantages Advantages Fantastic, fast printing

Disadvantages Disadvantages Noisy, instructions a bit odd

Im no techy, so I apologise in advance for this low tech review of this printer. This is a review based for your average PC user, not teccy buffs. Anyway, i recently bought this great printer for a nifty £84 (from John Lewis). I looked around at the competition, and I chose this printer for the follwoing reasons: 1) Its small and looks decent 2) Competitively priced compared to other printers 3) Uses different cartridges for different colours - therefore if the ink for one colour runs out, you only need to change that cartridge (unlike other brands available, where you have to change the whole ... more

Advantages Advantages Quality of prints, prints onto dvds/cds, price of cartridges

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

Having previously owned a Lexmark (cheap printer, expensive cartridges) and then learnt by mistakes and had a number of different epson printers (C42, then CX3200 all in one), when I was looking for a printer that would print on the printable dvd's I had recently bought for my DVD recorder, epson was the first choice. I looked at the R200 and R300, the only difference really being the memory card reader on the R300 which I did'nt need as I have a card reader on my computer and £20 price difference. So having chosen which printer I wanted I looked for the cheapest price, both for printer and ... more

I have now had the Epson R200 for about 6 months, replacing my old (and very noisy Epson 790). Purchase price was around £60-70 *** While the printer comes with a power cable there is no cable to connect the printer to the computer, if you do not already have one you will need a USB printer cable (about £3-6) USB cable can either be plugged in the front or back Maximum Printable Area Full bleed possible on 4" x 6", 5" x 7", 8" x 10", Letter, panoramic 8.3" x 23.4" 8.3" x 44" Paper Capacity Input paper tray: 120 Sheets plain paper/20 sheets photo paper/10 envelopes/1 transparency Paper Sizes 4" ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, prints well with original cartridges

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slow printing, noisy, expensive ink refills

I’ve had this printer for about 10 years now so I think it may be a little dated compared to the newer printers on the market. I can confidently say, however, that it has stood the test of time. I’ve just got to the point now where I think I need a new one! The printer is perfectly fine in appearance. It is mainly black with silver edging so fits in with most surrounding deco and is smart enough to look at. It is quite chunky in width so needs adequate space on a desk, or preferably its own table to sit on. It has a paper loading section at the back which folds down for storage or when not in ... more

Advantages Advantages Great print quality, prints on discs, seperate cartridges

Disadvantages Disadvantages mine didnt come with a manual, a bit chunky

I have had my R200 for over a year and am Very inpresed with it. It prints very high quality photo's, and also prints on printable cd's and dvd's. The printer is very easy to set up, and comes with all the software you will need to print photos, and print onto discs. When printing onto discs, you need to drop down a disc 'guide' and then insert a plastic tray with the disc on, which it feeds in and out of the printer (you will need to have some clear space behind the printer as it comes quite a way out). It has the ability tro let you print right to the centre if your discs allow it, it is all ... more
