Epson Stylus Photo R285...Great Product

AdvantagesPrice, Quality, ease of use, gives you more control over pictures

DisadvantagesIf just just want to print normal photos, still cheaper to use a photo shop

"...have always been fond of Epson products, even though my old printer was old as I stated, I had never had any problems with it, which compared to some friends is a big plus, so when I was looking at getting a new (preferably) photo printer, I had decided on an Epson! Thankfully my partner had been listening to me when I had been dropping hints, and already, even though Ive only had it since christmas I have been extremly pleased with the quality ..." Read review

Great Printer!

AdvantagesPerfect CD printing, Photo paper printing and normal paper printer quality!

DisadvantagesLarge in size and has a few problems in CD printing (as explained in main review)

"...ink being not even geniune Epson Ink, was perfect and high quality. The problems that i had was after i set everything up, and was about to test print my first few CDs, the printer said something was blocking the printer head. I had to restart the printer several times, and restart the computer 2 times to get it back to working/printing condition. What i learned was that when you want to print on CDs, you turn on the printer, and wait until ..." Read review

Epson Photo R285 printer

Advantagesexcellent all round while working

DisadvantagesSubject to ink problems but Ok with insurance

"The Epson Sylus Photo R285 is an excellent printer while it is working. In 12 months I have had two of these printers and both have have had the same fault, that being the sudden inability to recognise full ink cartridges and mule like refusing to budge in any direction. This problem occurs about 2-3 months into its use and seems to be brought on by changing one cartridge. Technical support recognise that there is a fault with apparently no remedy. ..." Read review

Quick review of Epson Stylus Photo R285

"I am on my third R285 photo printer all have the same faults, the worse fault being the photo paper jambs at the start and finish of the printing process it also refuses to accept genuine epson cartridges when it is time to change one, and it gets frustrating as you manage it to accept one cartridge another one is refused saying they are empty when they are actually full. It prints text on plain paper fast and faultlessly but this is no good when it ruins your photo,s by jamming and smearing black ink. I am now ready to get my fourth on warranty but I do not really want another the older versions R200 and R220,s where better.

Quick review of Epson Stylus Photo R285

"Bought this printer after my first Epson C62 which i used three years. The new Epson R285 printer has some more advanced features which i was looking for esp: CD & DVD printing and high quality photo printing with 6 ink cartridges. Got it for £48 from Valueshop. Not yet time to give a full review of the product. Will publish as soon as possible..

Epson R285

AdvantagesPrint quality, low price, individual inks

DisadvantagesSlightly bulky design

"...with a pack of 7x5 Epson Premium Glossy paper. I tend to use this printer for making A4 size copies of select photos. It really does justice to high resolution imagery. ..." Read review

Quick review of Epson Stylus Photo R285

"I bought this when my Epson 950 stylus died. I was unsure if I would be disappointed and needed some convincing that a unit so much cheaper could deliver - but it does! Up to A4 images are crisp and vobrant with excellent definition - and I'm a Leica photographer. This represents seriously good value for money.

Quick review of Epson Stylus Photo R285

"Fine as long as you want to take out a bank loan to pay for Epson Cartridges, trying to find compatible cartridges that are actually compatible and recognised by the printer is a nightmare. Would not recommend it unless you are prepared for either an expensive life or incessant trouble.

Epson Sty R285 - 4 Star Review

AdvantagesFast Printing Speed

DisadvantagesExtra Features

"This printer from Epson is specifically for printing photos with its six colour ink and fast printing black, this R285 is the replacement of the R265. The look of the paper hold is conventional, with folding support at the rear and a pull out, telescopic output tray at the front. The CD/DVD tray slots into this output tray. Epson claims a print speed of 37ppm for black and 38ppm for colour for the Stylus Photo R285. That's about as fast as the Xerox ..." Read review
