Advantages Advantages Lovely taste, very fruity

Disadvantages Disadvantages more expensive than my usual brands

This is my first review of a wine so I hope it is up to a good enough standard for all the wine appreciator's out there! I have become very partial to a glass or two of white zinfandel! I don't drink that often but when I do, I like to drink something that is immediately lovely and find that White Zinfandel's hit that spot for me! I don't usually buy this particular brand, as full price it is a little expensive for my tastes (I usually stick with Blossom Hill (the most I will spend on a bottle at around £5.00, Rivercrest or Echo Falls, a bit cheaper but not much) but Tesco had a special offer ... more

Advantages Advantages Taste, Smell, Price, Trusted Name

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too easy to drink!

Ernest & Julio Gallo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In 1933, the Ernest & Julio Gallo winery was founded by Ernest and Julio Gallo. These days it is still a family run business with offices and markets all over the world. The grapes for all of their wines are grown and harvested in all of the important wine producing regions of California, eg Napa Valley, Sonoma. In 1985 Ernest's son Joseph established the first International offices here in the UK. Nowadays they sell their fine wines to over 90 countries! (information gathered from the Gallo website) So onto the wine itself….. Ernest & Julio Gallo 2004 ... more

Advantages Advantages Lovely taste, not too bad price, easy to drink

Disadvantages Disadvantages bit too redish taste, alcohol content too low!

I bought this wine from Tesco's although I have seen it available in many other shops. It was priced at £4.49 which is average for this bottle. The wine is from the Sierra Valley region of California and bottle holds 75cl. There is a large range of Ernest & Julio Gallo wines, white rose and red. The bottle is corked with a synthetic cork, which is always easier to remove. It is recommended that you drink it chilled (6°-8°C) and can drink it along with a variety of foods. It is always best to take chilled still wines from the fridge, de-cork and leave for 15mins (with the cork reintroduced to ... more

Advantages Advantages Gorgeously fruity, extremely good value for money

Disadvantages Disadvantages TOO easy to drink!!

Ernest & Julio Gallo 2004 White Zinfandel. I am not a complete wine expert but I do like my wine & generally tend to prefer a good red, however when introduced to this by a friend I seem to be converted. This is such a nice wine to enjoy in the summer sun and is definately best served very chilled. The Taste. When you first open this bottle you get struck by a very fruity sweet scent and this comes across in the taste. It is a very light wine and fairly sweet, compliments white meat or a light meal extremely well, again, excellent for a hot summer day/evening. Although it is very easy to drink ... more

Advantages Advantages A wine for any occasion

Disadvantages Disadvantages too easy to drink

Ernest & Julio Gallo White Zinfandel 2002 is a beuatiful light-bodied crisp wine which I have found goes with any meal or any occasion from red meat to fish to just wanting a refreashing glass. The colour of the wine is a nice light pink rose. It has a hint of strawberry in it's flavour but don't let that put you off, my boyfriend doesn't like fruity wines but loves this one. The wine comes from Central Valley of California near the sierras. And is a credit to the ever growing wine community from California. Born and raised there I can honestly say that this wine is one of the best I have ever ... more

    Advantages Advantages Taste, colour

Disadvantages Disadvantages price, almost £5 a bottle in some places

This is my favouritew tipple at the moment. The wine is a Californian Rose Wine and whilst USA wine is not generally a favourite of mine, this I will admit is a big hit!! In a lot of places the price of a bottle can vary from around £4.29 up to £4.99, which is quite a lot for a bottle of rose, but in my opinion, worth every penny! The packaging is simple and allows you to see the delightful colour of the tipple. With an alcholic content on 9.5%, this is a truly scrumptious wine. Perfect for a summer's evening BBQ, sat in the garden or just a good old girlie night in!! The flavour is very light ... more

Advantages Advantages Great taste & reasonable price

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too good to share!

I only discovered rose wine a few years back after a fiend introduced me to it as I was once a medium white wine drinker but I’ve never looked back! Out of all of the different brands that I have tried I have found Ernest & Julio Gallo White Zinfandel to be the best with Blossom Hills coming in at a close second! This wine is from Sierra Valley region of California and is a dark red colour with a light fruity and refreshing taste. I tend to find this is around £4.99+ in Tesco’s however it s sometimes on offer and when it is I stock up!! This is also sold in many pubs and bars but normally £8 ... more

Advantages Advantages Tasty bottle of wine

Disadvantages Disadvantages Could be a little cheaper

I went out last night and tasted Ernest & Julio Gallo for the first time. I was hooked after my first glass, so then i had another, and another and another...and i cant remember how many after that!! This wine is simply delicious and very moreish. Its a California rose wine and the colour is an eyecatcher. I went into my local Tesco today to see if i could find it...spotted the colour right away and was very happy to see it on offer for 3.99 instead of 4.99! Bargain! The alcohol content is 9.5% which i think is just right for a bottle of wine. The flavour is very light with hints of strawberry ... more
