Advantages: Beautiful graphics, engaging storyline, simple mechanics Disadvantages: Very linear
...be sure of one thing: Eternal Sonata is beautiful. There really is no other way of describing this game. The graphics, while maybe not to the taste of those accustomed to HD-ready goodness from such games as Gears of War and others, provide fantastic cel-shaded visual effects, allowing Namco Bandai to really show the polish this game has. If you're anything like me, you will spend most of the time just saying "wow, that looks awesome."
Indeed, everything ... ...Battling in Eternal Sonata makes use of a clever light/dark system. Your characters' special attacks will differ based on whether they are in a light or dark area of the battle arena. Even more interestingly, some enemies will actually change forms depending on which part they are in, giving the player some decisions to make about how to best approach an enemy.

Advantages: Music and plot is deep and compelling. Disadvantages: Some bad camera angles, fairly low replayability.
As a fan of the 'Tales of' series, I would have never believed that Namco would produce a new work relating to a famous pianist. At first I was skeptical, though I did not have an Xbox 360 at the time, but when I managed to finally pick up a copy, I was quickly sucked in and blown away. This is my second favorite of RPGs on the Xbox 360, and for a very good reason... Plot 10/10- By far a highly innovative plot. You are Frederic Francois Chopin, a ... ...his death bed, dreaming of his world that is beyond the earth's realm. The characters introduced within the dream is what weaves the story's web. The plot dwelves deeply into philosophy, causing the player to think beyond just the story and into its concepts. Characters 9/10 - Every character is wonderful in my opinion. Each stands out towards the player, and you actually can relate to them. However, a couple fall into the cliche RPG hero category, ...

Advantages: Low price, short game, fun battle system Disadvantages: strange plot, not focused
The game has an interesting start to it. After an in-game movie, you start as the character, Polka. You learn some information about her, and then you switch to another group of characters, Gretto and Beat. At first, I was angry because I don't really like switching parties, but they meet down the line and become one party. The fighting system is very fun. The best part is, the better you get at the game, the harder the fighting system is. This keeps ... ...fighting system is half turn-based half real-time. When it is your turn, you get a certain amount of time to fight. In your first fight, you get a tutorial from the characters, and it is very easy to learn. The one problem I have with this game so far is the money system because it is far too easy to acquire it. Beat is obsessed with his camera in the storyline, and one of his special attacks is taking photos of the enemies. You can go to shops and ...

Advantages: Intriguing story Disadvantages: Boring battle scenes, annoying character voices, repetitive
I was lent this game from a friend and am glad i didn't pay for this. The game has lots of cutscenes with the characters having extremely long pauses between each sentence - but an intriguing story. The battle system didn't excite me. The battles were repetitive with the characters moaning and groaning their special attacks whenever i used them. Some parts of the story are quite laughable at - but i hope they are meant to be like that.
The music ... ...how you can choose to listen to songs (cannot play while in game though) and also find sheet music to play with some npc's in the game.
I like to feel the sense of adventure in an rpg game - but this game lacks it. The story is always going in one direction and i feel like i have no control over it.
There really isn't much to the game. It is really just running to monsters, leveling and killing more and more monsters. I usually enjoy rpg games ...
