    It was a depressing looking Sunday morning, it was 14th of April 1994. I had risen early and sat about in my grotty bedsit watching films I had recorded the night before.     If you truly believe that platonic love between a man and a woman isn’t possible, then you should stop reading right now. To deny it’s existence is to negate a friendship that was, and still is, of incomparable value to me. The only problem is, I lost it. Jonathan and I were hardly a well-matched pair.     This all about my oldest son who is now 10 years of age. I have 2 sons, but jack has a big fight to stay here so I think i can justify dedicating this little review to him, I dont think his brother will mind, bless him. I was only 21 years of age when I found out I was pregnant. I had not been with my boyfriend for very long, and I was on the pill. This came as a big shock and I had the horrible task of telling my parents that I was pregnant. They were great though, so all my worries were for nothing.     We buried Jenny last Monday. We had taught together in the same school for twelve years, until I took early retirement on health grounds three years ago. Tired and disillusioned, as I had also been, by the National Curriculum, Ofsted and endless, mind-numbing paperwork, she retired the following year to get a better quality of life.     In the Hollywood films of the jungle there are always drums, why drums? To add to the brooding beauty of the scenery I suppose. There are no drums here though as I take my first look at the jungle before me. It is by no means silent though exotic birdsong and the scream of monkeys in the trees supplement the ever present chirruping of the crickets and the buzzing of insects that fill the air just waiting for a chance to come and feed on my blood. He is now being investigated for Aspergers syndrome.
