Advantages: Great Fun, Fast, Easy to pick up Disadvantages: Sadistic, Horrible music, Very Short
...in Europe on February 16th, Excite Truck is arguably the best driving game available on the Wii to date. It's the spiritual successor to the Excitebike series, and if you ask me, is a great game to play if you like fun, 'pick up and play' sort of games.
Best described as an even more extreme version of Burnout, Excite Truck has you racing over 20 different sorts of 4x4 vehicles (yeah, I can hear you Eco-friendlies moaning in the back!) across the ... ...The main goal in Excite Truck is not only to win, but to win with style. Excite Truck is fast, it's Extremely fast, with a capitol E. You vehicle has a boost function, but overusing it leads to your engine getting too hot, so it's important to keep it cool by driving over water or getting airborne. Nearly everything you do whilst racing earns you stars, which are collected by smashing your opponents vehicles, drifting around corners, getting airborne, ...

Advantages: Superfast playability, making great use of wii controller Disadvantages: Been seen before on other consoles
In Excite Truck from Monster games, the goal is ultimate carnage. Participating in global races, you are actually rewarded for the most amount of damage you create.
With Wii owners currently snapping up the latest version of Mario Kart to be released for the format, it's good to see an example of how enjoyable an arcade type race game can be. I wasn't disappointed. Although it took zero inspiration to come up with the name, it can't be denied that ... ...on the next level.
Excite race:-
You start on the most basic tracks (bronze level) in different countries, and differing weather conditions, competing against five others. You have to unlock the silver, gold and platinum race events by getting a minimum number of gold stars from each track you compete on. You get more stars, the more adventurous you are with your truck, and also from the higher the position that you finish. Stars come by taking ...

Advantages: Go out and rent the dang game. It's a lot of fun Disadvantages: Extremely short. Levels could have used some more diversity.
Excite Truck is the sequel to the 1985 classic Excitebike. Yeah, you're right, it is a lot different than the NES game. Heck, it's like saying that Madden NFL 2007 is the sequel to a little game that came out the same month and year as Excitebike by the name of Baseball. There is almost nothing that is similar to Excitebike in this, other than the fact that you catch a lot of air. It feels like they had the game developed and just tacked the name ... ...hit something at all times. Excite Truck, if it weren't for some major downfalls, could have been one superb racer. It's really too bad that it isn't what it could have been, but the game is still a lot of fun, but its a pretty much worthless purchase.
Story you ask? Well, like many other racing games, this game just consists of some races to complete in which you can replay to get better times. When you're done with those races you've technically ...

Advantages: High speed, adrenaling pumping turns, jumps, spins and crashes! Disadvantages: Low number of tracks, a little repetitive.
I recently purchased excite truck from my local Game, I paid 34.99 and now after reading other reviews wish I'd been to gamestation and found it for 19.99! Never mind though you live and learn.

Advantages: Pick up and Play, Good Fun. Nice track design. Disadvantages: Slightly limited, Generic Rock Music
Excite Truck is by far the best racing game on the Wii which is not too high praise as it does not have much competition but it is also one of the best game of any genre currently on the console.
It is basically a pick up and play arcade style racing game. The most unique aspect of the game is how you control the cars. You use only the Wiimote and hold it length ways between both hands like it is a steering wheel. Then to go left you move your hands ... ...and you move from the Excite level to Super Excite.
You get a rating for each race depending on how many stars you get. The maximum being S. Once you have gotten the maximum S rating in each race at Super Excite level you get a mirror mode which adds to the longevity of the game.
The best aspect of the game is really the fun you have playing it. As you try to do spins and jumps and take out opponents. The tracks are designed superbly and a have ...

Advantages: Involving environments, beautiful graphics, great controls Disadvantages: Not many tracks, frame rate suffers in multiplayer
Excite Truck was one of the very first Wii games I ever bought, at the recommendation of a friend. It's a very complete racing package, with a great control scheme that now almost every racing game uses.
Single player is incredibly fun, the graphics are beautiful and the environments are vast and can be altered. Activating certain powerups changes the race "track" to raise mountains or flood areas, which makes it feel more challenging and fun, and ... ...also fun. There is no online play, however playing with your mates feels brilliant, and pulling off dirty moves such as smashing into your opponent's truck to throw them off can feel so rewarding. However, the frame rate suffers horribly in multiplayer, which can make the game feel a lot less immersing.
Great buy! I encourage you to get a copy, although perhaps you should wait until it shows up second hand. ...

Advantages: Great Tracks, changeable music, great moves and use of Wii Remote Disadvantages: A Little too short
After hearing mixed feelings about Excite Truck, I went out and bought it. I will say that it is not the best game in the world but is still very entertaining and quite addictive. It fully utilises the use of the Wii Remote Controller usings tilts and flicks to move your truck and ultimately make the game more enjoyable!

Excite Race
Compete against 5 CPU Racers to try and come first. It may take a little while to get use to the movement of the trucks because they tend to slide of course alot and it can cause difficulty in sudden movements. Aim to achieve a 'C' grade or higher to begin with and then later after you have progressed through the cups you will be asked to go back and complete them to a higher grade. Advantages: Fun and easy to play Disadvantages: This is not Gran Turismo
First off, dont buy this if you are expecting something in the vein of a 'Gran Turismo' game. This game is designed for only one reason, to have fun, not to create a realistic driving experience. This is absolutely fine though because this game is so much fun to play, as long as you have someone to play with.
The WiiMote is held as if it is the steering wheel and you can now turn and twist for real, just like you did back with your old wired controllers, ... ...someone else is so much fun as you try to drive whilst not turning yourself (literally) into your friend. I kept stepping in front of my girlfriend to win the advantage. You win races in the game by the amount of stars you score, so simply racing to the end may not be enough. You need to be able to win those stars by getting huge airs, drifts and tree runs to name a few.
This new controller takes a little while to get used to as at first I found ...

Advantages: Makes good use of Wii Remote Disadvantages: Some Hard Parts in the Game
Went to Gamestation and seen "Excite Truck" on the shelves for just £19.99! Like i could pass up an offer like that. So i bought it...
When you first start the game you've got to complete Tutorials. Such as getting used to the Wii Remote, landing and Turbo Speed. Once you've done all the (boring) tutorials you start of at "Bronze" medal. You need to complete 4 Races with a grade of "B" or more. Once you've done that you can move up to Silver and ... ...5/6 and so on.
This game is great for the family, testing how can get the most points in each race (theres separate profiles) and it makes great use of the Wii Remote in horizontal possion as it acts as a steering wheel.
So you can get the game cheap, its fun and addictive, so why dont you buy yourself a copy?
Thanks :-) ...
