...my old Mega Drive. The FIFA series have certainly progressed since then and this is the latest addition from a company that are by now, well use to producing cracking football games.
To be fair I'm a little biased. I've always been a FIFA man, admired the way EA Sports can put together such an interactive game but still make it enjoyable to those who aren't even interested in football. To me, the Pro Evo series just doesn't hack it, unless you physically ... ...them 1-0.
Ok, so FIFA 06 is a bit harder than the older versions I'm use to playing, I'm sure I'll get use to it. And use to it I did. Within several games I was scoring goals left, right and indeed centre. The commentary seems much better than the old games, with less randomness and some even a bit of comedy to keep you entertained. The graphics are beautiful. Little splashes of water if the pitch is wet and the players movement is very fluid, ...

Yes really it did that so I will try and explain why this game brought those childhood feelings back. Now depending on the set up depends on the in game buttons. I will advise on the classic set up. Crossing and hoofing the ball up field is done by holding down the square button again if you hold the ...

****Introduction****
Fifa 06 is a game for football and PS2 fans alike made by EA Sports. It doesn't require a great deal of knowledge about the sport but you are more likely to enjoy the game if you are interested in football. Fifa 06 is a game where you can command the moves of your players, manage the teams and customise your teams. The game is much more than a game of football, involving managerial skills such as signing sponsors, buying players ... ...on tactical formations.

FIFA 2006 is the greatest sports platform game in the world.
It beats its competitors hands down every time, and its easy game play is amazing.
Having the real team and players name really helps you to feel really in charge of your local team to the richest clubs.

One annoying fact is that there are so many menus to work ... ...change, where-as with the previous FIFA stars ratings change where-as now the ratings change between 1-100. With the new career mode, the game has become more "hands-on" with finances and now even more interaction with simulated memos in which you must provide an honest answer to get better Fan Support or Job Security. Being a 15-year career, you can change teams often which can lead to the real-life situations of the career mode, making this game ...

Fifa '06
Oh yes here it is ladies and gentlemen, coinciding with the start of my university year - the new FIFA 2006!!

The difficulty of the game varies from player to play - i.e. I batter my dad but get beat by my 8 year old cousin. The controls of the game are pretty much the same as previous versions plus a few new ...

As always the graphics are smooth and high quality and the range of teams available has expanded again. There are also a lot of new features of Fifa that make it a must.

...been a fan of the Fifa series until 2001 I converted to Pro Evolution at its launch on PS2 and had not made the return to Fifa until the release of Fifa 06. So naturally I was a little apprehensive.

fifa 06 is an enjoyable game, which is diffucult to put down once you have started playing with it. Many think that the pro evo series is far better than the fifa one, but i would tend to disagree. Quick review of FIFA 06 (PS2)
A decent crowd and dodgy-looking players aside, there's a Champions League night feel to each match with Clive Tyldesley and Andy Gray providing commentary, with "Ashes" by Embrace a reminder of the MOTD Goal of the Month competition. However, the number of ways in which you can score is well limited, and whilst the passing is convincing FIFA 06 lacks a real football brain. The physics of the ball are flat and players fail to utilise space intelligently thus play fails to generate a sense of momentum despite the performance meter which was intended for this purpose. Tackling becomes dead tiresome, and as a sign of sloppiness, the goalkeeper can be seen to save the ball behind the line. Surprisingly, there's a lack of depth when it comes to setting up the formations. Unfortunately EA Sports seem to have put their efforts towards having plenty of rewards to unlock - but FIFA 06 is anything but rewarding. ...

Advantages: Manager Mode is a great addition, excellent graphics Disadvantages: Gameplay sometimes seems slow and sluggish
...same old question every year....can FIFA improve and maybe even catch up with it's old adversary, Pro Evolution Soccer?
There is one thing that can be said about FIFA every year, it's authenticity and graphics are unrivalled with it's huge array of leagues, clubs, players and official kits, and this year is no exception.
In FIFA 06, unlike the past few years there is no concentration on just wheeling out another single pointless feature which you ... ...But as with every FIFA there is just some kind of sluggishness and slowness which you can't exactly pin-point but it's always there, it's like your playing on a muddy pitch in the Lake District with a football carved out of wood. To conclude I have to say there is an improvement of 05, features such as the Manager Mode are ...

FIFA 06 is a major improvement upon the previous year, with an enhanced career mode, more realistic gameplay, and tons of new changes that directly affect the play on the pitch.
I think it is by far the best fifa game out appart from fifa street. It has the best graphics. I still feel they 'ea sports' can improve though and I do not feel that this game is up to the high standard as pro evo soccer 5. This game is quite expensive, but hey aren't all ... ...are so easy. Every year Fifa improve there games and I think there has been a big jump between fifa 2005 and fifa 2006.
The game costs £29.99 on amazon.co.uk which is quite cheap. But if I were you I would wait until fifa street 2 comes out and buy that. Fifa street 1 was amazing and if this game is better then it will be out of this world.
