I'll always remember the original Fallout games; in part, because I wasn't really all that old when they came out, and some of it was quite shocking! Mainly, though, for the unmatched level of attention to detail in the game world - everything from the depth of the dialogue to the huge range of choices. Veterans of Fallout will remember the ability to take aimed shots at different parts of a target; well the VATS system brings it into the FPS style, and provides some *wonderful* cinematic shots. ...a few standout games and Fallout 3 has zoomed to the top of my RPG chart. If you enjoyed Far Cry, Crysis and Bioshock, then this one is a must buy. Fallout 1 and 2, both of which were turn-based tactical RPGs, of similar style to the Jagged Alliance and X-com games of around the same era were more than ideal for a format overhaul. However, the way in which this game was put together was less than perfect. In most games nowadays you just have to go there, kill that person, kill the boss and stuff like that.
