    Advantages Advantages Great selection, good deals, good service, great starter package

    Disadvantages Disadvantages ordering every issue, account penalties, editors choice

    I found this book club in a magazine, advertising "5 books from as little as 50p" The deal was brilliant the books well recieved and what a bargain! I checked out the online selection and was very pleased,, I had magazines every two months and was required to buy a book from the first four, after which I ordered two more books and ended my membership so I could catch up on all the reading I have to do. I will join again it saved me over a £100 in books and I spent around £70 in total including my first package.     As most of the books I normally read are sci fi I thought I would join up and get the specail offers they had. I had been a member of the world book club and hadn't had any problems what so ever. As these are where related clubs I thought I would have any trouble. It started out ok I got my special offers and the next couple of books I odered ok after that it all went down hill. Due to one thing and another I was away from home so when the club magazine arrived there wasnt anyone home, and so I ended up getting editors choice.     i joined the fantasy and science fiction book club because it is the only book club of its kind that i have found so far, it has a great selection, of fiction, non fiction, star wars, star trek, graphic novels, cd- roms, and fantasy art books. i joined this book club 2 years ago and i havemade huge savings on the books i have bought, appossed to going to the high street and buying them. i was origionally and still am a member of mango book club but could not find any witchcraft boks so i joined sfs who do cater for pagans reading preferances. also i have found that it has loads of books about ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Appalling customer services, non delivery of all items ordered

    I first ordered my introductory books in September 2004, I have rung them on numerous occasions between then and now, to be informed that there was a problem with their despatch department. They then said they had had a problem with their couriers so had changed these and that had caused the delay. I have rung again today after many many emails toing and fro'ing to be informed that there had been a despatch problem again and that the books had been re-ordered for me TODAY and would be with me within 28 days.     I bought my books with the offer that saved me about £70 than if I'd bought in the shops. All the harry potter books hardback, Lord of the Rings and some others too. Anyway, you sign up for a year, promising to buy at least one book a month and you can buy on the internet or on the phone. (the choice is better on the internet) The book always arrives within a few days and if you're not happy, you can swap it for another one. Customer services is always happy to help and will go out of their way to sort out a problem. They will listen to feedback and try to improve a service gone wrong. I ... more

    Advantages Advantages they have a VERY easy to use online site and respond quickly to queries/ complaints

    Disadvantages Disadvantages if you dont make an order they send you their choice

    I would be delighted to recommend this club to anyone, on the rare occasion i have had to query an order with them they have been incredibly helpful and swift in their reply - a good example of this was when i moved house, due to the move i had not made my usual monthly order so they had sent out the editors choice to my former address, i had informed them of the move but apparantly there had been some problem with the system on their end. I had no 'nasty letters' no demands to pay for the books they had sent, i merely had to fill out and return a form they sent me stating that i had not in ... more
