...as a brief history of Farleys (which is a Heinz company, I have learnt from reading the box) Please read the box carefully before buying to see if the product is gluten free or suitable for vegetarians. This is clearly labelled on the side of each box. Making up these meals is a simple, as all you have to do is switch on your kettle, as they all just require water to rehydrate them. Follow the feeding table on the back of the box as to how much ...

Rusks, Not just for baby, for me too

Advantages: An old time favourite trusted for years
Disadvantages: Can be messy as a finger food

I don’t know about you, but when I was a kid I always remember Rusk’s. Whether it was as a snack or in some milk as a cereal, it’s one of them taste and textures I can’t forget. In fact, when I was pregnant with Aaliyah I actually had a craving for them quite badly. Had to be the pink Original box, I bought them at the time for Charisma and she wasn’t keen, still they fed my craving and were also a great source for vitamins too, what better way to ...
...baby food? Strange logic I know but at the time it made sense to me in my pregnant state. I am still a huge fan of Rusk’s today and occasionally have a nibble, which is why I thought I would do this op on Farley’s Original Rusk’s. The Packaging The packaging for the original packet is as follows. On the front of the box there’s a pink oval shape with 2 teddy bears sitting down eating a bowl of rusks amongst some wheat sheaths. On one side you have ...

You like em or loathe em

Advantages: Good all in food, handy to keep in your changing bag, taste loooovely
Disadvantages: none

Farleys Rusks, not just a childhood addiction! Originally made in my hometown of Plymouth, I could easily have been forgiven for despising the sight, the thought or the taste of them. The aroma used to waft over the whole of the city Instead it fuelled my passion for these oversize delicious biscuits, which incidentally are designed for weaning small babies, and as a finger food for older babies and toddlers. Sold in boxes of 9 or 18, they can cost ...
...for invalids and the elderly, as they appear to be very easy to digest. Available in various flavours there are both savoury and sweet, I still prefer the original. Although they do contain a lot of sugar, good dental hygiene is a real must. I am told that my addiction started at an early age, with relatives working there and able to buy the broken biscuits, large bags of Farley’s were the norm in our house. As far as I am aware the recipes ...

Rusk be good!

Advantages: Healthy, convienient and good value.
Disadvantages: none

Well it`s been 6 months since my little girl was born and where has the time got to. I never believed people when they said make the most of it because, it doesn`t last long, but it is true they are not that cute little buddle of joy forever. Not that she is going to stop being cute ( especially if she grows up looking like her mum HE HE ), but she will be a big bundle of joy instead. So as she is growing nicely, so is her appetite. We decided to ...
...boy she really took to them like a duck takes to water, she couldn`t get enough. She has only had the original flavour up till now but they do other various flavours. **** SO WHAT ARE THESE **** These are basically biscuits for babies with all the minerals and vitamins, thrown in to help baby with growth and healthy development. They are designed for two uses: 1) Can be used for a weaning food for the younger baby 2) Or used as a finger food ...

So farley so good

Advantages: Great if you're in a hurry, quick and easy to prepare
Disadvantages: Works out expensive

...cheese. A packet of farleys costs in the region of £1.75 and if your baby is anything like mine with a healthy appetite this could work out quite expensive as there are probably only about 5-6 servings in each box. Another favourite of my son's are the rusks. These are available in original, sugar-free, apple and banana flavour. They are versatile as they can be eaten as they are, or mixed into a puree with freshly boiled water, or milk. The breakfast ...
...creamy and sweet, especially when mixed with breast milk. The puddings are also very good, especially banana custard which my son loves. All meals are nutritious and contain all baby's daily dietry requirements. I have tried a few baby foods including heinz, but have found the ready made heinz baby foods taste a bit metallic, but the farley's ones seem to appeal more to my sons tastebuds. As I mentioned before, the only disadvantage is the cost. ...

A Good Low Calorie Snack

Advantages: Can be eaten by all ages
Disadvantages: Expensive

...years old and I love Farleys Rusks. I often take a wee notion for a rusk and i just bout a pack of 12 the other day in the chemist. I got the original ones, but there is choice of reduced sugar ones and if I am not mistaken a few years ago there was a banana flavour one...is this right readers?, maybe I am dreaming about this. Well if i am then this would be a great flavour for them so they can turn the milk banana flavoured! Sometimes at night ...
...comforting than eating two ruusks with heated milk, it warms you right up and makes you have a nice night sleep. The other alternative is just eating them as biscuits. For all those people watching their weight these are the best things. For those who understand the weight watchers pointing system each rusk is one point and they are quite filling. I usually feel that after 2 rusts i am really full up! They are shape like round raised disks and are ...

OH YOU BIG BABY

Advantages: easy pessy
Disadvantages: go too fast

...older found to be a farleys rusk. When I was younger they did not have varieties like now and you can find apple, banana and marmite. All taste very good. The rusks are suitable for most babies when you start solids and break easy or dissolve easy with breast or formula milk. They seem to suit a hungry baby well and can often be the babys first food as you can make it as thick or runny as you like. As the baby gets to teeting it is good as a hard ...

Quick review of Farleys Baby Food

i have been caring for small children for many years and have found that farleys baby food is very good. It has a wide variety of foods for all meals and is good value for money. I find it mixes up very well and smooth for the first stage and then the next stag with lumps also mixes well. the flavour of each meal is nice and most children enjoy it ...

Farley's Rusk. A Name You Can Trust

Advantages: Makes a fulfilling bedtime feed for hungrier babies. Comes in a variety of flavours, as well as sugar free. 9 large biscuits in pack, therefore you can break off exactly what is needed. .
Disadvantages: A bit fiddly to mix out. Hard to handle.

Farley's Rusks have been eaten by all the children in my family. So when my daughter started to get unsettled in the evening and unsatisfied with her usual milk feeds; I knew it was time to start to think about weaning her onto solids. I asked for my health visitors advice about types of food I should start her with, as she was only 14 weeks, ( a few weeks younger than the recommended weaning age)and I was told baby rice or rusks would be good products ...
...reminded me that I used to drink my milk with a some rusk in it, when I was a baby. At first I was a bit thoughtful about wether to try my mom's suggestion as on the packed, it said not to feed from a bottle. I think this product should be used with the parent's desrestion. I decided to crush quarter of a rusk with 7oz of baby milk formula, used a fariflow teat on that particular bottle ( so the thicker milk could be drunk with ease),and made sure ...

apple rusks

Advantages: great finger food, helps coordination
Disadvantages: can be messy

I started my Elizabeth on Farley's rusks when she was just under 4 months now she's 10 months and she still enjoys eating them, even though like most babies and children she prefers chocolate, she must take after me i love chocolate too, any way enough about chocolate. Elizabeth loves the apple and the banana rusks. I find it to be alot easier for Elizabeth and myself ( less mess ;-) ) to just give her half of a rusk at a time and as finger food ...
...she always gives me some lovely messes to clean up inside and out of her nappy, lol. When ever i go out anywhere i always make sure i have a couple of Farley's rusks in a bag ready incase she wants one, as they're great for when she's teething or just for a snack. But be prepared to find bits of them in the strangest places, like inside their nappies. They cost £1.13 in ASDA, they are foil wrapped and contain 9 fairly big rusks. They're roughly ...

Farleys Rusks

Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: none

I started my son on Farleys rusks quite soon after weaning because I found that these were the only substantial baby Food which stopped him getting hungry during the night. He has always liked them mashed up with milk usually after his last bottle. They are so easy to make and dont even need a lot of mashing as they seem to disintegrate when you add the warm milk. Farleys Rusks have been round for years and many generations of children have been ...
