Notta Lotta Dosh to fill your trolley at Farm Foods

Advantages: Inexpensive foods and lots of choice
Disadvantages: Can't do a 'complete shop' in the one store.

...(9:00-18:00 in some stores) So if you havn't tried Farmfoods because you think it's cheap and nasty - please think again - cheap it certainly is but nasty - NEVER!!! ===Summary: Farm foods is not a shop to be shunned but to be enjoyed=== ...

WANNA GANDER AT MY BULGING CHEST?

Advantages: Cheap and easy shopping.
Disadvantages: Chest freezers

I have to say I do care about what my family put in their stomachs and have prided myself over the years on the meals I have cooked for them and the natural produce I have taken the time to prepare. I have three teenagers and a hubby who, although small and lean, could probably out eat the local rugby team and despite my efforts, I find more and more that they are seeking out snacks and convenience foods between meals and because of this I find it ...
...for them to eat. In Nottingham, where I live, along with the abundance of supermarkets that are on offer, there are three main freezer produce stores. Iceland, Heron and Farmfoods. Iceland stores are large but I find that they compensate for their many buy one get one free offers by increasing the individual price of an item if it is to be included in one of the offers. Their 'five items for a fiver' offers, where you are effectively able to purchase ...

It's the way they sell 'em

Advantages: Cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: Own-brand goods best avoided

...mother-in-law insists on calling it Farm Fresh, so lets get this bit straight, right from the start. It doesn’t sell fresh food (apart from milk and bread) and I would say that a good 50% of the products it sells have never been anywhere near a farm. I’m not saying that the food they sell is stale (as opposed to fresh) but almost everything on sale is either frozen, canned or pre-packed. You won’t find fresh meat or fresh fruit and vegetables there. ...
...months - without ever having been in there I decided that it wasn’t really my type of shop. I rarely buy pre-packed food so I assumed I could live without it. I had also wrongly assumed that they sold nothing but frozen food. And then one day, because it was raining and because I was too lazy to schlep to Tesco’s on the other side of town I thought I’d put aside all my prejudices and give it a try. I only wanted some frozen peas and something quick ...

I thought I was seeing things

Advantages: Great savings on shopping
Disadvantages: Shop could do with cheering up

On a recent shopping trip or trudge as I call it (hate shopping) I was pleasantly surprised to find a great amount of bargains which led to a great saving for me. What shop is this you ask? Err... Farmfoods! No that is not a typo it does say Farmfoods. I went into farmfoods and was shocked to see they have really pushed the boat out. There has been a lot of changes and it showed with the volume of customers they had as the shop was bustling with ...
...is the groceries on offer. They have introduced more "brand" name foods that are well known household names and they are selling these at fantastic prices which save you a small fortune. Some of the bargains are: Nescafe 200g Jar Instant Coffee: This was price marked at £2.49 but they sold for £2 Walls Viennetta Ice Cream: Only £1 Birds Eye Chicken Chargrills (Various Variety) 2 pack Price marked at £1.99 but they sold at £1.50 Oriental Express ...

The fear of the cheese slices is with me today

Advantages: It's cheap, and you can fill your trolley for less
Disadvantages: Low quality food for the most part, avoid the cheese slices like the plague

...and ventured into my local Farm Foods branch... The area I live in couldn't really be described as affluent, and sad to say, shopping trolley theft is rife, so what is Farm Foods answer? A huge five foot pole attached in an upright position to the back of the trolley. It works in theory, but there are areas of my local branch that are a little under this height, so the effect is quite annoying when you have to force the trolley through these sections. ...
...afraid I can't really recommend Farm Foods unless you're absolutely tapped and don't mind eating what quite frankly, amounts to second rate food. As to the quality of customer service, I was disappointed to say the least, the staff I encountered were surly and unhelpful and did very little to smile...On the day I visited, the checkout lady had a group of friends gathered around the till with her, and when I queried a mistake on my bill, not only ...

But where do I store?

Advantages: Great prices
Disadvantages: Very busy

After the handy Safeway store, just a 5 minute walk from my house, closed down we were left wondering what would take it's place? Rumours circled of Day and Nite moving to the premises, or it being knocked down, but after a couple months waiting, our curiosity was silenced, when a blue, red and yellow sign went up. "Farmfoods". I had never heard of the store before, I'd been in frozen food outlets, but not a shop, and not one my own doorstep. After ...
...an open day announced where there was to be an array of offers and constant low prices. I was excited, my two favourite aspects when shopping, especially when I don't need to pay £1.35 to go into town, and I get exercise at the same time. When the day of opening arrived me and my mum decided to visit, see what offers where to be had, and if we could pick up a little something for tea. The first thing I noticed when we arrived in the car park was ...

Chirpy Chirpy Cheap Cheap

Advantages: Cheap, Lovely Free Carrier Bags
Disadvantages: Poor Quality and Variety

...myself walking past my local Farm Foods store, and needing to buy some frozen veg, on the spur of the moment I decided to pop in. I haven’t been to Farm Foods in years and boy, it hasn’t changed much. The same sad looking woman on the counter, the same dirty old floor, the same old food. I had a good look round and ended up buying some frozen carrots and broccoli, some frozen chips and some sausages. I also had a good look at some of the food labels. ...
...no doubt about it, Farm Foods is CHEAP. Right now they have a promotion on where everything in certain freezers is priced at £1.00. This mainly consists of their own brand labels, with some exceptions, for example McCains Southern Fries. So probably good value for well known brands such as Findus, McCain and Bird’s Eye. The frozen chips I bought were McCain Southern Fries and I can’t complain about those. In fact they were half the price of my local ...

The last bastion for the breadliners

Advantages: Top brands at lower prices and is great if you strapped for cash
Disadvantages: Dodgy own brand curries! Shop a bit tired and stale looking

...my boat! Going to Farm Foods was at first the last choice on my list of places to buy food from and still expect to pay my gas bill at the end of the week. The reason for that is solely down to my boyfriend: one day while walking past our local branch of Farm Foods, he decried the quality of stuff available in there and gave me the impression it was the supermarket borne from the echelons of hell. That was enough for me to give it the wide berth. ...
...the door of my local Farm Foods, hoping that my boyfriend was wrong. And, to my delight, he was! I wouldn't describe Farm Foods as the greatest supermarket in the planet as far as layout was concerned, but when it comes to eating, things like that don't matter to me. Imagine my delight when I came across a Chicago Town cheesey pizza for only 99p! Normally I had to avoid stuff like that because it was priced at about £3 or more. From that day on, ...

Why don't I come here more often?

Advantages: great value, low prices, plenty of choice
Disadvantages: cheap carrier bags, slow service

Farmfoods is one of those shops that I pass everyday but very occasionly enter. I don't really know why that is because Farmfoods have some great bargains, and as I said I pass it every day. Maybe it is something to do with the really slow moving checkouts and having to stand in a queue of only 3 tills with a trolley of shopping and 2 screaming kids. For those of you who aren't familiar with Farmfoods here is my opinion of it:- **What is it?** ...
...do tend to stock more and more tins, packets, bottles and even toilet rolls. **How well is the store layed out?** In my local one the shop floor is covered round the walls and up and down 3 aisles with chest freezers. Also above these freezers are shelves containing various other items as well as a small bread/bakery section and Milk fridge. There are also various displays of tinned juice/loo rolls and even xmas paper in the lead up to the 3 small ...

Freezing in the freshness!

Advantages: Cheap food and decent quality
Disadvantages: Not got everything for your weekly or monthly shop!

FARMFOODS I'm sure that is not just me and my wife and who are feeling the pinch in today's economic climate We have found that we can certainly save a fair bit of money by shopping at our local Farmfoods. WHAT EXACTLY IS FARMFOODS Farmfoods is a chain of shops specialising in frozen foods - the chain has three slogans used in their advertising campaigns - "The Frozen Food Specialists", "Freezing in the Freshness" and "Great food at amazing prices". ...
...and is a Scottish company. According to Wikipedia there are now over 300 shops in Britain. As I said they do specialise in frozen foods but they also supply a wide range of other groceries household items. The main attraction is the fact that it is a discount supermarket run along the same lines as the likes of Home Bargains. The chain is also one of the few names in our shopping centres and high streets that is still a privately owned company. Farmfoods ...

Stapped for cash. Not here you wont be

Advantages: cheap, wide choice, brand names
Disadvantages: some things taste cheap

Food shopping is something we all have to regularly do and when you are living on a tight budget it is not easy. Since moving up to Manchester we discovered this supermarket and most things including brand names like Ross and Birdseye are between £1 and £2. That is all. When we compared these prices to places like Tesco and Morrison’s etc we found them to be at least £1 cheaper per item. I also checked the dates on these items, just in case that ...
...at all. This is an example of the price comparison. They do a 500 ml tub or snickers or Mars ice cream for £1 and in Tesco it is it £2.74. That is a huge saving of £1.74. It all adds up you know. I was not tempted to try any of their ready meals but we did try a packet of their 4 cheese burgers in buns and they tasted fine. I would of definitely not of complained at £0.25p per burger. They tasted fine to me. I think their ready meals though would ...

Farm Food Shopping

Advantages: low prices, great for party food
Disadvantages: sometimes out of special offer products, some foods high in fat

If you need to stock up your freezer with quick convenience foods, then this is the place to come. Very good value store, especially for things like chips/pototo products, fish fingers, chicken nuggets, sausages, sausage rolls etc. Excellent if you want party food. Not very good if you follow a healthy eating plan, and need low fat foods, as a lot of their meals are high in fat. They do a good range range of puddings, ice creams, frozen fruit ...

Cold Shoulder

Advantages: certain things may be cheaper
Disadvantages: no veggie fare, claustrophobic shop

Farmfoods is not a shop that I usually use. The main reasons for this is that I am vegetarian and I can’t find many items in this store that I could eat, except of course the packets of vegetables! Plus, I am not impressed with their prices. I know that the main draw of the shop is that they sell cheap food, especially forzen stuff, but I’m not convinced. I think that most supermarkets actually give you a better deal, either if things ...
...range, which is often as good or better anyway. In Farmfoods the space is cramped, you just can’t move, and if someone is walking towards you then they will have to squeeze past you! (YUK). Pervs paridise! The staff seem fine, as far as I’ve seen and they have been polite each time I’ve gone there. All in all, I tend to give the joint the cold shoulder, as it were! ...

save your cash at farmfoods!

Advantages: Good frozen food at low prices.
Disadvantages: sells alot of cheap brand products.

There is a farmfoods store in my local shopping centre, I use this store for most of my frozen foods and the main reason for doing so is because of the huge savings on their products. *****The store***** The store is One of the main shops in my local shopping centre, It is quite a large store, with three isles of freezers, It stocks alot of other products other than frozen food and has alot of sweets and snacks for sale too. When the store opened ...
...other than frozen food, but it now stocks everything from loo role, soap, bin bags to cakes ,bread and milk. *****Quality***** Farmfoods had quite a bad reputation for selling cheap frozen food when it first opened up in this area of Glasgow, but is now used by most people who live in this area because of the fact that you can buy brand name products at a lower price than what most supermarkets charge for them, It also does alot of special offers ...

Farm Foods no room to move

Advantages: certain good offers
Disadvantages: unreliable quality and store size

Farm Foods is a strange kind of shop . Some branches are really tiny and you can't move around in the shop with a pram or pushchair. Other branches are like small supermarkets by contrast and as a result the range of stock on display is much better . Also their own brand range of frozen food leaves a little to be desired . The quality is poor and unreliable in my opinion when compared to say Iceland . The bread that they sell is not always fresh ...
