The 50’s Fender Stratocaster is just one of many versions of electric guitar released by Fender, (The Well Acclaimed American Producer Of Quality Guitars.)
My Fender Stratocaster is a 50’s classic Mexican Sunburst Stratocaster, 6 string style. At the time of purchase, (3 years ago) it cost me £470. This seemed to be the average price at that time, but the value may have dropped since then.
The guitar has the following features:-
... ...control knobs
- 5 position selector switch
- 3 coil pickups
- Tremolo system
- 6 fully adjustable bridges
- Machine work heads
- Adjustable neck
- 2 strap hooks
One of the first things that you need is a socket to connect your guitar to a practice amp, or speaker system. This is done by having a jack socket for the lead to plug in. It is common practice to loop the lead through the strap of the guitar so that the lead can not be pulled out ...

...have the paint job of a £2000 Fender custom shop guitar but this is an astounding guitar for the money (mine was £349). I've lost interest in my other guitars. This is an addictive guitar, I love it and am already planning to buy another as a backup for gigs. ...

Advantages: superb playability, excellent intonation and tone Disadvantages: can be quite expensive
...:). Originally the Fender Stratocaster was made in 3 countries which was subsided into 3 different price ranges. The Mexican Strat was the cheapest, then there was the Japanese mid range Strat and finally the more expensive American. Slightly different woods and pickups where the main defining difference between the 3 models. unfortunately they seized production of the Japanese Strat a few years back which has always been my preferred choice due ... ...makes this axe so versatile. Fender really have set a benchmark that many companies have tried desperately to copy, but none can compete with that of an original Fender Stratocaster. If you are into the sounds of a Gibson then this guitar is not for you as there are is no chance of making this sound like a les paul. Although in my opinion these guitars equally sound great, they are also completely different sounding guitars as they are built a different ...

Advantages: Classic sounds and styling Disadvantages: colours not to everyones tastes
...coming from Japan mainly Tokai Fender was forced to ship some of its manufacturing to Japan to compete on costs. These were known as Squires. Production later shifted to Korea.
The Mexican side of the production started some three years ago. The Mexican strat is basically a US guitar that has been shipped, assembled and set up in Mexico again to keep costs down.
It has to be said that the finish and set up of the guitar were absolutely faultless ... ...noting that I paid £500 for the above guitar, I feel representing excellent value for money
To buy an original in mint codition could set one back as much as £40,000. Would it sound or play any better? probably to the vast majority of players not £39,500 better anyway.
Overall if you need a sound well proven workhorse you could do a lot lot worse. ...

Advantages: Classic, look style and sound of 50's Strats. Solid construction. Disadvantages: Single ply pickguard a bit flimsy and does not sit flush.
...style syncronized tremelo Bridge, Vintage Fender Ping style tuners, 3 single coil Strat pickups with staggered Alnico Magnetic Poles. Single ply pickguard (what was used on the origional Strats) and aged plastic knobs and pickup covers. Mine is in Surf Green and was made in Ensenada mexico in 2002. Being a Made in Mexico after 2000 it's body is (as per the Fender catalogue) Alder, the finish is near flawless, and as I bought the display model, the ... ...say closer to what Leo Fender had in mind than the modern American and Custom Strats. The Bridge pickup is clear and bright, and the Neck pickup with some "crunch" on the amp, sounds great. I play everything from Pink Floyd's "Wish you were here" to Black Flags, "No Values" and the tone is either sweet and pleasing or rough and raunchy depending on which pick up combination I use. The finish on the neck is flawless and the fit of the 7.25 radius ...

...it in a 60 watt Fender amp and it suits the guitar. I opted for this model instead of the Standard Stratocaster which was cheaper but I didn't think it was as good.
Any Stratocaster is a great buy at a good price. It looks great in red and has 21 frets. The screw-in string keys are quite tricky to use to start with but it gets easier! I use it in my own music. It is light and well made. ...
