Size:
It really is huge! the biggest cage I've had for rats, except an avairy. The height is a little taller than most conventional rat cages but it really is a lot wider and deeper than most. WxDxH = 75cm x 80cm x 85cm (aprox.) It's big enough for up to 9 rats but I prefer to keep it to about 4-6 so they have lots of space.It's size means it is great for the rats ... ...at some point.
Accessories:
Ferplast make excellent accessories. They are a great size, excellent quality and easy to clean, mostly. The cage comes with a couple of shelves, a ramp and some tubes. The shelves are very sturdy and don't flex when heavy boys stand on the edge like other brand shelves do, however, they have ridges (for grip I assume) which can make cleaning a pain. Being so big you can get lots of nice accessories in your XL, but hammocks ...

Advantages: very large so loads of room for your pet to run around Disadvantages: mainly bars so if your pet is messy your floor may be too
...bonus to buying cages from Ferplast is that it nearly always will have helpful little extras that come with your cage when you buy it. This particular cage comes with a water bottle, feeder bowl and corner litter tray. It also has two large doors for easy access. I don't know from personal experience as i have mentioned before, however i have heard that it comes pretty much assembled for you so you don't have to mess about trying to work out where ... ...of this true with any ferplast cage and i do have a ferplast hamster cage). The cage isn't too big either and so it won't get in the way. The dimensions of the cage are length 80 width 75 and height 86.5 cm. I would say this size cage is an ideal sized cage for ferrets, degus, rats, chinchillas and chipmunks. It also comes in a range of different colours. The RRP is £134.66 but if you are thinking about buying this cage new then i would recommend ...
