Advantages Advantages Excellent speed and acceleration, looks great, feels great.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Engine faults are fairly common.

I've seen a lot of people give bad reviews for this car and I thought that I had to jump in and rescue the Bravos reputation, if I possibly could. First off lets have a look at the main sellers for this car: It has Power Steering-I don't need to explain why this is a good thing. It look great with its streamlined bonnet, coloured bumpers, low grille and narrow headlamps, giving it a sporty and aggressive look. For such a small litre, the engine is huge! Electric front windows. An engine that has more sensors that you can shake a stick at. Airbags. Central locking. All in all, this car looks ... more

Advantages Advantages Small size, economy, Good looks

    Disadvantages Disadvantages small load area

My first impressions of the Bravo 80SX 16V very not good. It was a Fiat. I didn't like Fiats. No real reason, except the reputation for Friday afternoon electrics, dodgy build quality, and a propensity for rust. I'd also had a test drive in a Fiat Punto Sport 1.2 16V earlier in the day, and i was still missing some fillings from the hard riding suspension. I was also running late, and didn't have much time to really look it over. "I'll bring it to your work", said Pete, the salesman who, having spend the best part of 2 hours with me, was now almost desperate to sell me something. "Ok", said I ... more

Advantages Advantages I look sexy in it, it is a good looker like myself

Disadvantages Disadvantages a modern car should do better miles to the gallon

I should state from the start that i like cars. They are wonderful, they are very kind to the environment, sharing lots of chemicals with it, and a car says a lot about the person driving it. So what am I like? I ask myself the same question sometimes, so read on... I bought a Fiat Bravo 1.4SX in 1997. It looked the real business- flame red, low-slung, cd multi-changer, and it moved liked sugar off a shovel- great. The model was one-up on the base spec. It was a three door hatchback with the following standard features: Power Steering Colour-Keyed Bumpers and Mirrors Electric front Windows ... more

Advantages Advantages Urm... relatively cheap to buy?

Disadvantages Disadvantages I dont want to waste my life listing them

Put it this way, I bought this car from a dealer and 5 miles down the road... maybe less, the engine blew up!!! No kidding. I first saw the car after my last engine had blown with the head gasket. I thought the Fiat Bravo 1.4 sx was cool. I wanted something sporty looking without the big price tag. I thought Id died and gone to heaven when I got the fiat - swirly dash, cool headlights, tail lights and smooth lines. The 1.4sx was the cheapest I could find other than nasty cheaper looking 1.4 s's. (Sx has colour bumpers and electric windows and sunroof). I got mine from a dealer, seemed fine at ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to drive, economical

Disadvantages Disadvantages Interior could be better finished, that rear seat.

My first new car for 15 years, and quite a contract to my old Citroen Xantia - an expensive mistake which cost a fortune to maintain, while its value dropped like a stone. The family having grown up we don't need a big car any more. I originally wanted a Punto , we hired one in Italy last year and was delighted with it, but my better half preferred the extra space and comfort of the Bravo. It is very light and responsive to drive, the 1240 16v engine delivers the power when needed, but is also very economical, returning an overall 48 mpg in the 3 months I have had the car. Comfort is pretty ... more

I got my Bravo one and a half years ago. When I bought it it had delivery mileage (about 20 miles), and was registered six months previously. My first ever 'new' car. The first journey I went was to London which was over 300 miles from home. It went like a dream - comfortable, economic and fast. To my husbands dismay all I could talk about was the six CD changer, musical heaven. The Bravo has just come through its second service after 20,000 miles (I put it in early since I am taking it to Ireland). All that it cost was the service costs; there were no other faults. When I decide to trade this ... more

Advantages Advantages Discounted Price, Features , Performance, Economy

Disadvantages Disadvantages Ride, Some Dealers Service, Depreciation

This car drives feels like it has a much bigger engine. 1242cc's in a body this size should be a real yawn but the engine is a really willing performer as long as you're prepared to rev it hard. I get around 42mpg on the motorway and 37mpg around town. The handling of the car is somewhat of an enigma. When not pushing hard it feels quite wooden but if you really push it out on a country road it takes on a whole new lease of life and becomes a lot of fun. The problem is you have to be driving like a nutcase before the fun starts. The two biggest faults with the Bravo are its ride and some of ... more

Advantages Advantages Fiat Bravo SX - one of the most reliable cars I have owned

Disadvantages Disadvantages Spare parts of very expensive, but apart from the regular services I have not had to spend a great deal in the past 4 yrs

I have owned an S reg Fiat Bravo SX for the past 4 years. I have to say that it is one of the most reliable cars I have owned. I am fortunate to have a sunroof as well as air conditioning which saves on fuel consumption is the warmer weather. I have to drive to London every day to work - a round trip of 100 miles. Have to fill up with petrol twice a week, but all in all not that expensive. Motorway driving is comfortable, visibility is very good. If I have one minor complaint it is the position of the cigarette lighter - I use this for my handsfree kit and find I am constantly knocking the ... more

Advantages Advantages Great drive, Good handling

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Terrible Economy

The Fiat Bravo is a gorgeous car, its a great poser you look and feel good in it, that is when you eyes are not on a fuel gauge. Strangest car ive ever had when it comes to economy. I had just changed from a 2.0 diesel so I was excpecting a bit of a drop on economy, but aftrer 2 days I thought the petrol tank had a leek !!!! I got roughly 27to the gallon on a good run, and just tried to avoid long distances, and what i mean by strange is the economy got worse when you hit the motorway. You could just see the gauge drop at a steady 80mph very FAST. Still the drive is excellent and the standard ... more

I was looking to buy a car for months and didn't like anything I saw since my brother in law rung me one day and told me he got a car for me.We went toghetherto see it , and here it was:My car!Lovely stylish design, black, sunroof, just the car I was looking for! I bought it straight away, and I don't regret it. No problems since I had it, good reliable car, nice boot space, the back seats folds away for more space, confortable, quite cheap to run.I am actually using it for more than 200 miles a week and works perfectly. I would reccomend it to anyone who wants simple lines, basic feature ,leg ... more
