Baked Bean Tin

Advantageseconomical and comfortable. reliable and roomy. electric windows AND central locking. well responsive brake systems

Disadvantagesboxy looking. can be heavy to drive and often get the feeling that i want power steering.

"I own a turquoise Fiat Cinquecento SX. The Cinquecento SX was by far the best choice for me both economically and physically. I share the car with my brother who is at least a foot taller than me, and it is surprising how comfortable this nippy little car is. The interior design is pleasing to the eye. The dash is likening to a theatre, with a teared section for stereo, blower, temperature and clock. There is a definite feeling of safety when driving, ..." Read review

Classic little car for the city and beyond.

AdvantagesSuch fun to drive, excellent fuel economy, cheap.

DisadvantagesHeavy clutch and steering, generally quite basic.

"...difficult not to love. If Fiat still made them today, I'd buy a new one. Perhaps, if being rational, it should 'only' get four stars. So maybe I'm biased, but I really do love it, so it's five from me. ..." Read review

Advantagessmall,fuel ecconomy

Disadvantagessomtimes stiff gears

"...that this little car, the fiat Cinquecento is my first car, (awww) I got it 3 months after passing my driving test, in April I was originally looking to buy a micra, as they seem reliable, but after seeing this little beauty sitting on a garage forecourt, I knew I had to have it! She is bright yellow, and is very quirky looking! She really stands out, I haven’t once lost her on a car park! I took it for a test drive and really liked it so, there ..." Read review

Postman Pat Van!

AdvantagesEngine struggles, poor build quality

Disadvantagesfuel economy

"The Cinquecento is an extremely compact front wheel drive hatchback/city car that doesn’t look too dissimilar to a Postman Pat van. There is lots of interior room for its size, steering and the ride quality are good and insurance is low. But build quality is poor and the interior trim soon looks worn. Also, the gear change is not great. Engine performance is good (for its size again!), with excellent fuel economy. However, this is not a ..." Read review

A sporty first car

AdvantagesGood acceleration for a little car, spacious, leather trim, yellow

DisadvantagesHeavy steering, handbrake sticks.

"...drive in a bright yellow Fiat Cinquecento Sporting (1.1). Eventually it passed through the family and into my hands, and I adore it. Compared to my friends small cars - 800cc and 1000cc respectively - it's got good acceleration. When you need to overtake safely, or pull away, it does so easily. It's got more room inside than one would think, and I find the sunroof a welcome addition on a hot day. The fuel economy is superb - up to 50 mpg... except ..." Read review

Cedric is his name.

AdvantagesDeceptively Spacious. Good Fuel Economy. Inspires love and affection.

Disadvantagesfrequently picked on by bigger cars. Does struggle sometimes with hills.

"...of figures.... go read the fiat website..... i don't care about facts and figures... you want an opinion to help you decide on a car? well to me that is what the actual car is like to drive everyday... after the honeymoon period is over................. As with most first cars, it just had to have a name, and as it annoyed me greatly at first due to me not being used to it I decided it was male. as i'm a harry potter fan and it's reg was CDC it ..." Fiat Cinquecento 1.1i Sporting

Advantagesfun to drive, ecomonical, reliability.

Disadvantagesprone to head gaskets going if not properly maintained, no power steering

"I LOVE this car, even though I am lucky enough to be able to drive several this is certainly one of my favourites. Its easy to drive, loads of cabin space (I have 4 children and they all fit in comfortably and belted up correctly as with the new laws). Its very responsive and as mine is the sporting version(1.1i) it will amble on the motorway quite happily at 70mph with enough left in reserve for overtaking. The fuel consumption is excellent (£20 ..." Read review

Advantagesnippy, cheap insurance. fits into spaces others can't!!!

Disadvantagesexpensive to fix when does go wrong, overheating

Dispite the fact I would like another car Im going to put it through another mot in april and why? well. I work for a company who doesnt have enough spaces for it's workers. It's amazng with a little good driving and a small car just exactly where you can fit this thing!!! When it has broke down it tends to cost ..." Read review

Cinqeucento

AdvantagesGood fuel economy-approx 35 miles for £5

DisadvantagesYou quite often get tailed by other 'bigger' cars

"I have a silver L reg cinq sx. I think it has been really good so far. I have never had ny problems with it and I have had it for over a year. I think that the insurance is very reasonable. I pay £300 a year 3rd party f&t. My cinq has just passed it's MOT last week with no problems. Although this was my first car, i have driven others and I can say that this was one of the easiest cars ive ever driven. It is a nippy car ..." Read review

My First Car

AdvantagesExcellent Petrol Consumption

DisadvantagesIt can not pick up high speed (90mph+)

"...and settled for a Red Fiat Cinquecento with only 24000 miles clocked. It had full service history and looked great. I immediately fell in love with the vehicle and bought it. It was over my budget but then I felt that the car will pay for itself by the fuel consumption. I got my car on 19-Dec and soon during Xmas I was out to Scotland (from Kent) to exprore the wild. I did 1200 miles in 5 days of my holidays and spent just £ 80 on fuel. This gave ..." Read review

Motoring hell

AdvantagesTardis-like.

DisadvantagesAny you could imagine, and then some.

"I drove an M-registered version of this car because it was my mothers and consequently the one i learned to drive in. For starters, it looks stupid and feels poorly balanced, especially going around bends. It feels as if it will explode going at any speed over 60 mph and it sounds like a gale is roaring through the floor, tearing it apart. The workmanship is dreadful, the central locking mechanism had a tendency of breaking regularly, and the engine ..." Read review
