Advantages Advantages Very small & manouverable, specious, superb visability, cheap to run

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Small boot

This is another review based on our experiences at the Company Car in Action event at Millbrook Testing Ground in Bedfordshire last summer. The beauty of this event is that you have the opportunity to drive a huge range of cars, all on the same day, back to back on the two routes open at this superb test facility. To start with I would say that this particular day saw the worst storms of the summer in southern England, we had torrential rain on and off throughout the day and very high winds constantly. My reviews so far published following this event, cover two massively expensive cars, the ... more

Advantages Advantages small, stylish, handles well, spacious interior

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poorly equiped cabin, small boot

When my old knackered Peugot finally gave in, the hunt started for a small city run around, and most importantly, as cheap as possible. After reading several reviews, and most importantly, after assessing budget, the choice came down to either a Fiat Panda, or Kia Picanto. The Panda is most definately one of the smaller cars on the market, which suited me to the ground. The interior was well presented in terms of materials, although it has to be said the cassette deck as standard was a bit of a disappointment (CD players are an optional extra). However, the best bit about the inside of the ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages No in-car controls for opening boot, Petrol Tank capacity

Well, what can I say. A bit of background info first. I bought this new Panda 2 months ago. It was intended as a second family car, mainly to be driven by my Mom. My budget was in the region of £7000, and above all other criteria was an easy driving experience. I considered various cars, the Ford Ka, Skoda Fabia, and Fiat Punto amongst others. Having narrowed it down to the Panda and Fabia, largely based on the various awards these cars have gained in recent times, I had to make my choice. The Fabia was going slightly above budget, and at about £7500 it didn't come with too many extra features ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, reliable, easy to drive

    Disadvantages Disadvantages image

I must admit I wasn't exactly overwhelmed with excitement as my Mum came to collect me from university in her new Fiat Panda. Looking in my opinion a like a car cut in half, i was immediately thinking that as we shared a car at the time I was going to look a little silly driving this vehicle. Now, 3 years later, and having driven the panda on regular occasions, i still feel the same, it does look a little odd, is unusually high with a strangely placed gearstick, but it is undoubtably a nice car to drive. Now I am 22, try to keep up with fashion, enjoy sports, and would not ideally drive such a ... more

Advantages Advantages Price, 4 door , economy , Good driving position

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only 1 door lock , leaks water into car when opening door

This car was bought as a second car mainly for the use of my wife for the school run and short city driving trips , and we are very happy with the choice . We looked at the Kia Picanto , Panda and the citreon C2 and a few sums and test drives later chose to have the Panda .The Picanto was a close second , but , the Citroen mainly down to 3 factors overpriced, poor build quality and very basic trim /specification was a non starter. I have a 407 but admit to using the Panda often , for its ease of parking and its quirky performance , basically the car is fun to drive . True my 407 is more ... more

Advantages Advantages Funky looks, great quality, well equipped

Disadvantages Disadvantages Hesitant auto gearbox, light coloured trim

I would never have normally considered a Fiat before due to their appalling reputation for reliability, rusting, poor dealer service and interior quality, but when my wifes Skoda Fabia needed replacing, we checked the Panda out and I was amazed! The interior quality is nearly as high as in the Skoda (which was terrific), the steering is light and fairly responsive (especially when using the 'City' funtion which lightens it for parking, etc.), the kit is generous but most of all the price was fabulous - we actually bought it through JamJar (although now wished we hadn't due to the huge delays ... more

Advantages Advantages Affordable, comfortable and Car of the Year 2004

Disadvantages Disadvantages Road noise, poor drive, possible reliability problems, depreciation

Voted car of the year, should mean that this motor is the best availble, but is it? Good value, and pretty comfortable means a lot, and when you first sit in the new panda, you are pleasently supprised. Memories of the old cramped Panda, are imediatly banished, and a sense of importance and pride becomes you. Once you start the engine, and move off though, the illusion is sadly shattered. Awkward cluthc and gear changes make for a difficult drive, especialy around town. When you get out on the open road, the road noise can be very bad, forcing you to turn the stereo up for every 10 miles per ... more
