Advantages Advantages Educational and entertaining toy

Disadvantages Disadvantages You will find yourself singing the catchy songs

When my son was approaching six months of age I wanted to buy him a new toy something that would get his mind ticking and help to develop his concentration skills. I then realised we didn’t have a shape sorter which is a popular classic children’s toy. There are many different versions of these once basic toys available at all different prices from wooden versions all the way through to high tech electronic ones. I shopped around looking at all the different shape sorters and couldn’t believe how many there were to choose from. I finally decided on the Fisher Price Cookie Shape Surprise, with ... more

Although Fisher Price has several shape sorters and we had the chance to try almost all of them when visiting friends. The Cookie Shape Surprise is one of the most popular shape sorter of my kids and their little friends. We bought as a Xmas present for my elder son when he was 7.5 months old. The manufacturer says that it is good from the age of 6 months. First impressions I bought this nice little toy in Toys’r’us. As it was quite new I wanted to see myself its features. It comes out in a box that is open on one side, so you can try pushing the nose of the cookie jar. The shapes are packed ... more

    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Educational, fun, durable, good value

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pieces get lost, some shapes difficult to push through the holes

Not only do my twin boys have a (huge) collection of toys in their own home, this collection also extends to grandparents houses. Rather than take toys with us when we go to visit Mr Lools’ parents have purchased some toys for the boys to play with. This includes the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Cookie Shape Surprise. ***Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Cookie Shape Surprise*** The Laugh and Learn Cookie Shape Surprise is basically a cookie jar themed shape sorter. The cookie jar is made from yellow, purple and orange plastic with a smiley face on the front. The toy has a purple lift off lid ... more

4 Stars Get Your Hands Off My Cookie Jar Review with images 13/02/2011

Advantages Advantages Easy to make sounds, some educational value, Freddy loves it

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too heavy for youngest of babies, too loud, songs become very annoying, we eat biscuits not cookie

To be honest this isn’t a toy that I would have chosen to buy for Freddy, if nothing else the fact that it is called a “cookie” jar is enough to put me off. We live in England and eat BISCUITS, not cookies and I get really annoyed at how our children are being Americanised, there mini rant over. The Fisher Price Cookie Shape Surprise (to give it it’s full name) was actually a Christmas present from Freddy’s Nan, so it would have been very wrong of me to withhold it just because of my prejudices. Taking The Biscuit The Cookie Shape Surprise is actually an electronic shape sorter, that is ... more

I found this little toy whilst out looking for our son's 1st birthday present. I wanted to get him something that would both entertain and get the old, or perhaps rather young, grey matter working and this looked ideal. I gave him the choice of this or another and he went crazy to get hold of this one. It comes in three very bright colours, which are a purple lid, orange surround and a vivid yellow body, and then purple again for the bottom bit. Cut out all around the jar are the holes for the shapes for your nipper to fit them into. Inside the cookie jar are the shapes! A triangle, heart ... more

Advantages Advantages Fun, Educational, Two settings, Bright lights/Catchy songs, My daughter loved it

Disadvantages Disadvantages Loud and rather annoying! Quite heavy/bulky, Shapes can be awkward to get in to holes

I brought the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Cookie Jar for my daughter on her very first Christmas. I got it from Tesco (or was it Woolworths? Does it even matter!?) for around £15.00. It's still widely available in most toy shops and is currently selling on Amazon for £14.67 (July 2012) with free delivery. The cookie jar is an electronic shape sorter. It comes in an open-fronted cardboard box (you can try before you buy) and requires 3 x AAA batteries, which are included - we never had to change our batteries. The age recommendation is 6 - 36 months and it's a unisex toy. It has 3 settings ... more

This was bought as a christmas present for my youngest daughter although she was a little young at the time with her only being 3 months when she was given it but when my 4 year old played with the toy she liked to watch the coloured light of the toys nose flashing. Availability I have seen this toy being sold all over, Asda, Argos, Tesco and as usual Amazon sell it, my mam bought the toy from B and M a discount store in our area and it cost her £12 but this was over a year ago now and it now costs £17. Packaging The toys come in a cardboard box which is mainly white and displays the ... more

My son received this cookie jar as a gift from a relative recently. He had just turned 6 months, which is the minimum age recommended for the toy, so we let him have it straight away. Alot of the features are for slightly older babies, as I will discuss later, but he still gets alot of enjoyment from it already. The Cookie Jar is from Fisher Price, a well known toy manufacturer and one that I do trust alot. It is priced at £14.99, which is still quite a bit for a baby toy and therefore I would expect quite a bit from it. The jar itself is brightly coloured - predominantly purple and yellow ... more
