When searching for personal number providers a couple of years ago, I came across Flextel. In addition to providing numbers beginning 07010 (I believe they own this entire prefix), they have recently obtained all numbers beginning 0870321 and are allowing these to be registered. Flextel offer a wonderful facility. Using this service you can register an account and attach a number of personal numbers to it. The personal numbers begin 07010 and you can choose from the numbers they have left (except the really good/memorable ones which they understandably charge for). Review of Flextel

We've had a range of Felxtel 07010 and 0870 numbers for at least three years now and have no complaints whatsoever with their service. I can't think of a single occasion that the service has been down in that time. Updating of the redirection can be done via their national rate number 0870 321 0000, which makes it cheap and easy to do with a touch tone phone. Unfortunately, they have wised up to the value of the more regular or palindromic sounding ...

Another tip - flextel's service was originally provided supplied by 1-2-1, using their switches to route the calls. Hence, if you replace the rather expensive to call 07010 code with 07956, you'll only be charged at mobile rather than personal number rates. Shame they can't get the technology to forward SMS's too, that would complete their service! ...
