Advantages: excellent fit and reusable Disadvantages: none really
...let anything escape...ewwwwwwww
The Floaties Aqua Nappy fit the bill. They look like miniature blue bikini cut swim trunks and are very slim fitting. The legs and waist are gently elasticated so that whilst fitting our little birdie legs, will stretch comfortably over a chubbier baby, and providing good containment in case of the worst case scenario. The inside is lined with soft tricot type lining, so the entire nappy dries fairly quickly, and ... ...have to say this is really cute on a baby. The little rolls of baby podge are visible and not hidden by a large baggy nappy or cosi with built in nappy. I am probably just maudlin, but there is something adorable about podgy baby tummies pooching out over the bikini cut LOL
Now for the practicalities , other than quick drying. The nappy goes on easily, and stays up, even on a skinny, wriggly baby. It also comes off easily when you wish to take it ...

Advantages: Dries fast, looks cute Disadvantages: Bit pricey if you don't go swimming much.
...I finally settled on the Floaties Aquanappy. They come in several cute designs, suitable for girls or boys and the smallest size they make is 3-6 months (4-8kg).
I found them on the Incy Wincy website and paid £7.55 for one nappy (free p&p). My nappy arrived in a couple of days and we couldn't wait to try it out. The outer fabric looks just like swimsuit material. Inside, the lining looks similar and there's a plasticy type of material between the ... ...and Floaties advise that they shouldn't be tumble dried (you wouldn't need to, they dry so quickly). In conclusion, the nappy looks good on, is a reasonable price, fulfills my washable needs and fits well. I'm still undecided as to how it would cope with a runny poo!! ...

Advantages: Lightweight Secure Fit Disadvantages: None
We bought two of these for our daughter before we went on holiday and they are great.
You can get them in a range of sizes, and they also come in girl or boy colours (obviously we got the pink ones for our girl). They are fastened around the waist with velcro and also have a drawstring for extra security - no-one wants to see a floater in the pool do they?! They are not designed to contain wee, just poo.
They are very lightweight and allow for ... ...think twice about wearing them, which was a relief for me!
They are also very reliable as my daughter did actually have a 'movement' while wearing one, and it was very well contained! The only downside was that there was no washing facilities in our holiday complex so I had to handwash it in the bath - yuck!
Anyway, the good thing about these nappies is that they are washable so you only need a couple which should be sufficient until your child ...

Advantages: Saves unsightly Yellow tinged water and floating poo!!! Disadvantages: Can be a bit restrictive with circulation!!
Aqua nappys are fantastic, what did we ever do without them? My little one was 6 onths when we first went swimming and obviould not potty trained at all. I purchased some Aqua nappys and took the plung in to the pool.
I was slightly nervous as to if these nappys could withstand a runny baby poo or if i would have to make a swift and embarrasing exit from the pool!
On the visit to the pool i put my little girl in the nappy, it was a tight fit dsespite ... ...weight constraints.
There is my first reccomendation!! Buy bigger than you need!!
The nappy looked a very snug fit, i wouldnt want to try and put one on a wet baby thats for sure!!
In the pool my little girl seemed happy and i almost forgot about the nappy!
At the end of the swim when it came to remove the nappy i had a couple of problems, firstly i could smell and see some of the contents ( a slight leak at the back of the waist) and secondly ...

Advantages: lightweight Disadvantages: only came in blue
Swimming is an activity that I wanted to do with my daughter as soon as she had her first lot of injections, but what to take her in?
I obviously didn't want any little messes in the pool, I went to all the usual baby shops but could only find the disposable swimming nappies, this is something I had been advised not to get by a friend of mine, aparently they soak up almost the entire a pool making it feel like your holding a lead weight instead ... ...in huge sizes which was no good for my 09 week old baby.
I happened to pop into Boots where I came across there own brand of swim nappy, except this one was a re-usuable, allbeit in blue. The way this worked was it had a strong elastic around the legs and the waist part had a velcro strip that came around the side and then had a little ribbon tie at the front, thus making it impossible for any "accidents" to leak out.
The swim nappy had a soft ...

Advantages: they don't soak up the water like regular nappies Disadvantages: I can't find anything wrong with them
My two year old daughter has only been swimming a little while, when I took her for the very first time she had a normal nappy on. Within a couple of minutes the nappy was extremely heavy, it had soaked a lot of water up (which is fine in normal circumstances, right mums!). This really scared her and me, if I wasn't holding her the weight could've pulled her under the water. I was then told about aqua nappies so I thought I would give them a go. ... ...daughter have a good time in the pool and they also catch any mess. So for me they served their purpose it is a worth while investment for piece of mind when you take your little angels swimming. You'll find the kids can move more freely too. Thanks for taking the time to read this review and I hope I helped in some way. ...
