Great Pot... Just Don't Leave It Outside For Too Long!

AdvantagesLooks nice, different sizes avalible, cheap and more!

DisadvantagesDon't leave them outside!

"...where else but the legendary B&Q of course! After getting lost in their never ending isles I eventually came to the plant pots! And as we were on a bit of a budget, I thought that this own brand terracotta pot would definitely be worth it! Here are the prices and the pot sizes, starting with the smallest and getting bigger. 9cm - 50p 15cm - 75p 19cm - £1.25 23 cm - £1.50 29cm - £4.50 37cm - £7.50 We brought five 50p pots, and a couple of £1.50 pots. ..." Good Value Flower Pots from B&Q

AdvantagesVery cheap to buy, good value

DisadvantagesThey crack if they come into contact with frost

"I visit B&Q on a regular basis for gardening supplies. I have bought many of these pots in the past in a variety of sizes. The pots are widely available to buy from most B&Q stores. The pots come in sizes that range from 20cms to 40cms. The size I most commonly buy is the 23cm size and they currently cost £1.50 each, a bargain in anyone's book. The pots are made completely from Terracotta. Terracotta is an Italian term for "baked earth", ..." Read review

They don't like the freezing winter weather

AdvantagesCheap and great so long as there is not frost

DisadvantagesThey fall apart in a cold winter

"B&Q Terracotta Flower pots Our village is had an Open Gardens at the end of May and so I have spent the month before trying to sort out the mess in our garden left by the awful snow and severe frosts we had this year. We have, what I like to think of as an easy maintenance garden as we do travel quite a bit and I don’t want to come back to a jungle on our return. Outside our back door we have a bricked area where I like to have a range of pots with ..." Read review

A terracotta pot

Advantageslooks ok

Disadvantagesfrost might smash it

"...of these terracotta pots from B&Q .They cost £1.50p each and I think this a reasonable price .fair price. I have had mine identical to the ones pictured for a few years now. I have some pelargonium in mine at the moment. In the spring I had some daffodils planted in one of them. I use these terracotta pots both outside on the patio and in the conservatory. I have been known to use them to hold a rustic garden display in the house too. Description ~~~~~~ ..." Read review

B&Q Flowerpot Terracotta Review with images

Advantagesmany

Disadvantagesone

"...the fine terracotta pots that B&Q have to offer. My extended family eagerly await my visits so they can admire the various sizes of light red pot and the quality they have to offer. These wonderful and coveted pots come in a variety of sizes ranging from 20cm to 40cm. They are most excellent value for money and come complete with small holes in the base for drainage. They are lightweight yet hardwearing and useful for a variety of different things ..." Read review

Perfect Little Pot

AdvantagesDesign, strong, sturdy, long lasting.

DisadvantagesHeavy

"...== During my recent trip to B&Q I was on a look out for some gardening tools and some planting pots to lay out in the garden and porch. The gardening section at B&Q had a nice range of terracotta pots available but the smaller sized ones (28cm) really caught my eye so I thought I might as well buy them despite the price tag being at £4.50 per pot. The price is not too expensive, but personally for a small plant pot I was expecting it to be a bit ..." Read review

Cheap pot for the garden

AdvantagesPrice

DisadvantagesQuite Small

"...plant pots in my local B&Q store I realised that they were perfect for my simple little garden. The plant pots in question are just simple plain Terracotta pots and they are available from any B&Q store, at a surprisingly low cost of only £1:50 per pot! The pots are a nice bright orange colour, and are circular in shape, with a decent sturdy base to them. They have a few faint lines going around the exterior of them to add a little shape to an ..." B&Q Flower Pot Terracotta

AdvantagesWell made, choice of sizes, reasonably priced

DisadvantagesNothing

"...and as we have a B&Q local to us me and my fiancé decided to have a look what they had to offer. This is where we came across their terracotta plant pots, which come in a range of different sizes. There were some really big and bulky ones which I thought looked a little too distracting so in the end I opted for two of the smaller ones, which are the perfect size at 28cm. At £4.50 each these aren't the cheapest plant pots but because they're made ..." Read review

Good Looking Plant Pots

AdvantagesLook smart, cheap to buy

DisadvantagesNone

"...these terracota clay pots from B&Q a few years back, they are not great big ones but measure about 14 inches high and about the same across the diameter of the pot. They are just the right size for potting a single plant like a geranium or something. We have geraniums in our pots and they seem to flourish well and come back year after year. The pots are really pretty, they look like a plain plant pot but they have some ridged stripes going around ..." Read review

B&Q Flower Pot Terracotta

AdvantagesCheap, sturdy and look nice when planted

DisadvantagesNone for me

"With summer coming up, it’s time to get in the garden and get the flowers in. I don’t have any flower beds so I have a lot of pots instead. I have a few pretty looking pots and a few standard terracotta pots to keep costs down. I decided this year that my terracotta pots needed replacing as the ones I’d got were all chipped and old so we went to B&Q to see about replacing them. I knew terracotta pots weren’t cheap, but I was ..." Read review

Potty about these pots

AdvantagesExcellent value

DisadvantagesNot frost proof

"...were only £1.50 each from B&Q (they do come in various sizes and prices, all bargains!) This price beats big indoor decorative pots by miles. These ones are a typical plant pot shape, with a lip around the top and decorative ridges down the body. They have a single large hole in the bottom middle, for drainage. I find them easy to clean, using simply a scourer sponge and hot soapy water; they come up like new after a season outside and all the muck ..." Read review

Summer Pots Not Winter Pots (B&Q Terracotta Flower Pot)

AdvantagesGood price, simple, sturdy and look good.

DisadvantagesNot great if you're planning on leaving them out over winter.

"...well, I headed down to B&Q as a fairly reliable source of pots. These ones are nice and simple looking, no fancy patterns or anything, just simple flowerpot shaped pots if you get my drift. They have a central drainage hole in the bottom, and a reasonable size rim at the top to allow you to move them easily and give a sensible place to hold, and best of all they're not ridiculously priced. These come in a range of sizes from the smallest which ..." Read review

Nice Pots

Advantagescheap and long lasting

Disadvantagesnothing really

"B&Q is a place I like to go into regularly - mainly to have a look at the wood and the gardening stuff while my other half looks at the soft furnishings and cushions and stuff. My little lad comes along with me, not his mam, and we have a wander round together. Last summer we bought a few hanging baskets and I also got some good terracotta pots while I was there. They cost only £1.50 each and I bought a few in different sizes as every now and then ..." Read review

Terracotta flower pot

AdvantagesNice looking, good for planting

DisadvantagesNone

"I have some decking in my garden on which we have some nice garden furniture. There is quite a lot of space around this and one of the ways I like to decorate the decking is by using potted plants. They look really nice around the decking area and are easy to look after and maintain. I mostly have little bushes in the plant pots and I think the green looks great against the terracotta colour of these mini trees.    I love terracotta pots. I think ..." Read review

Basic.....but quality.

AdvantagesInexpensive. Look fine. Solid. Do not easily chip. Drainage hole.

DisadvantagesNot good if you want something decorative. Not unique.

"...6 terracotta flower pots from B&Q to pot some herbaceous plants that we'd also bought as a project to work on with our children. Neither of us are gardeners and so we took the advice of the sales staff at B&Q and they recommended that these very basic terracotta pots would do the job fine. Each were 23cm in diameter and they cost just £1.50 each. There are other sizes also - a 19cm diameter which cost £1.25, a 29cm diameter which cost £4.50 and ..." Read review
