Advantages: Compact, light, easy to store, grass box, quiet. Disadvantages: None I have found
First of all, before I start my review I have noticed some others have written comments where they have compared their lawn mower to a previous better one. They have also given negative comments about features they should have known about before purchase, i.e. cable length, cutting width and the fact a grass box will make it heavier in use. There was a negative comment on this where someone said it was heavier than their previous non grass box model...well...duh! ... ...went on to slate features they knew about. If I look at a product before I buy it and it says, "5 metre cable" I'm not going to complain about how short it is am I? Then there was the comment on being inadequate in long grass. Don't let your grass get too long then or use a trimmer for the first cut.
Let's look at the description.
Please excuse the brash tone, this is directed at those who complain about features they knew about before buying.

Advantages: Cuts grass Disadvantages: grass still grows
I bought this mower when a friend suggested that i should get some of this "grass" stuff and that if i did, i would need a mower to cut it with. Whilst i have no qualms about the mower itself, which does an adequate job, my real bugbear is with this so-called friend who suggested that i grow some of this "grass". what kind of friend would suggest that you plant something in your garden that needs almost constant attention, just so that is doesn't ...

Advantages: cuts evenly, removable grass box, easy to move Disadvantages: may be pricey for some
...shed and got out my Flymo lawn mower, which is the great one of my neighbours has a non electrical so I am very advanced and am proud to push my orange grass cutter.
I didn't always have a garden but when I moved house about 4 years ago I decided to get one because it would make life easier. It wasn't until at least last year I decided to actually buy one because my neighbour's used to always offer but then they moved out and I had to learn to stop ... ...of the orange and grey Flymo mower's blend on the page this particular model stuck out.
I was happy to get the grass cut on a hot day because weeds grow quickly and the grass gets really high, one good point about this lawn mower is that even though it is big and quite heavy it cuts very high grass which not all lawnmowers can do. This lawnmower is easy to push so you don't need to be too strong. Another thing which attracted me to this lawnmower ...

Advantages: Price, scoop, weight, safety features, design Disadvantages: heavy on the wrists with long grass, messy, a tad bulky, shortish flex cable
...anything more complicated than a Flymo with a scoop.
There's plenty of choice at the sub £100 bracket - with the exception of the obvious visible differences (scoops, cutting depth etc)other factors you should remember is power, lightness, cable length & "flickability".
Obviously it's difficult to decide on these "invisible" attributes by simply window shopping. But perhaps the most important consideration of all is power. More is best, especially ... ...So I decided on a Flymo TC330 at a reasonable £80. With that I get a large grass scoop, a decent length of flex, good power and above all a reasonable weight.
Assembly is a cinch, just a couple of wing nuts to tighten and a check on the rotor blade and that's about it. The handle is adjustable to suit various people's height, along with an ergonomic switch gear that involves having to grasp at least two leavers before the mower functions - which ...

Advantages: powerful, efficient, easy to manouvre Disadvantages: needs all the spacers to cut the grass low enough
...this to replace my old Flymo 300 plus which after 7 years had finally collapsed, largely due to my mowing over a tree branch which broke the impeller.
I decided to go for a bigger mower and am very pleased with the Turbo Compact 330 Vision which is Flymo's replacement for the old TC 330 Compact. It floats across the lawn beautifully and picks up a lot more grass than my old one. It doesn't pick up as much as a rotary but if your lawn is average ... ...anyway and I can't say that the bits it does leave are either noticeable or a problem.
If anything it's too good at hovering and needs all 3 spacers fitting between the blade and impeller to get the lawn as close cropped as I like but having said that it doesn't need to be any closer so is not actually a problem if you're not comparing it to another model.
It's not too heavy, very easy to manouvre when 'flying' but if you go over an edge it can ...

Advantages: Lawn looks nice when you finish mowing Disadvantages: By the time you recover from the effort it's grown again!
...this mower. My previous flymo (without a grassbox) had been good and easy to use, but this one was different altogether.
I found it very heavy, even on my flat lawn, and each area of grass had to be covered several times before it was entirely cut and most of the grass collected. The only way it cut satisfactorily was to move it backwards and forwards like a vacuum cleaner, and the effort involved made my very small lawn seem like a huge expanse.
... ...very muscular female, but a big strong friend of mine used it for me one day and his comments are unprintable. The gist of it was that he wondered if the word 'lawnmower' was an accurate description for it, and that he could have cut and collected the grass more quickly with a pair of scissors and a pair of tweezers!
I have tried to think of something positive to say about this mower, but it is difficult. It is low maintenance, and when you finish ...

I used to own another model from flmo that didnt have abox attached and so the grass cuttings used to go everywhere and the blades kept breaking on me so I had to to keep putting new blades on the mower all the while.
Ithought that it was about time for a change so I brought this little ... ...Its light weight helps you to cut your grass to perfection .Its alot better than my other flmo because theres no changing blades and with the power that it has got it cuts through your grass like butter .
The grass box itself is'nt awkward to change and this mower comes with a manufacturers guarentee and a set of full instrutions which are easy to follow.
When you open the packaging the mower is laid flat but all you have to do is fit the arms ...

Advantages: Lightweight, powerful, fast and efficient Disadvantages: Small quantities of grass get blown away rather than collected
...catch my eye was the Flymo 330 Compact. It looked sturdy and well built and the box impressed me with how many feautures it had. (Far more than other mowers I could see and at a price to suit) So for £89.99 I decided this is the mower for me. 1350 Watt power with a 33CM cutting width. It has a metal blade and a glass collection box that is lightweight and easy to empty and it compacts the grass. A yellow ball in the top housing rises to the top when ... ...easy to push with little effort at all...glides across the grass leaving an excellent professional cut. Emptying the grassboz was a doddle and the time taken to mow cut by half with no bad backs and aching arms at the end of it. This mower does the work while you fell you are not having to do much at all...feels like it could just float you along with it :))))))))) It has a metal blade and a tool to clean the grass underneath the mower and it has ...

Advantages: Light and easy to handle when switched on Disadvantages: Does get a little heavy when the grass box is full and the power is switched off
...I have used Flymo before so decided to see what was available. After investigation I decided that the Flymo compact 330 would be the most suitable and I found that B & Q offered the best price, particularly as an additional discount is given for pensioners.
I have been on holiday for two weeks, but before I went I used the new machine and I found it very easy to use and the fact that you could see how much grass was in the box was an advantage as ... ...the box was full. Everything to save my legs!!! I was particularly pleased with the new cable winding device, easy to use and very neat. When I came back from holiday it cut the three inch high grass perfectly. Very impressed. ...

Advantages: Performs well, easy to clean. Disadvantages: Gets very heavy when full, better on flat lawns.
...If you've never had a flymo then you've been missing out! They are rather plasticy but are built and designed very well. This one particularly well thought out and performs well. I have the unfortunate blessing of a garden on a slope and the flymo does become a little difficult to use as it fills up with grass (oh yes, it has a removable grass collector) but if your garden is a bit more level then you'll find that it works well. I find that I have ... ...my liking but if you have a smaller size garden this mower may be a little bit too big. It also has an indicator which tells you when the grass collector is full. Very handy indeed. It comes with a long power cord (I think 15 metres) and the handles fold to allow more compact storage. I like this mower alot, it's not cheap but it does perform very well. It should last you many years too. ...

Quick review of Flymo Turbo Compact 330
My lawn slopes so the 330 gets about ok, which is a good job for the amount of time going backward & forwards to cut the grass, next door neighbour tried it (he is a golf green keeper)had to use it like a vacum cleaner to get the grass cut, am sure Flymo must know of its problems, its an expensive poor grass cutter. ...
