comfortable lenses with minimum fuss

Advantages: No need to take them out to clean or worry about leaving in too long
Disadvantages: expensive, more aftercare needed

I have worn normal monthly disposable contact lenses before but got sick of having to take them out and clean them every night. Also with most you're really only supposed to wear them for 5days a week and upto about 12hours a day which means swapping between contacts and glasses which has always made me feel dizzy as my eyes have to adjust to focusing differently. Eventually I gave up and went back to glasses but with a prescription of -7.25, the ...
...and lighter ones. I read about the new contact lenses that could be worn continuously for 30days and thought they sounded just what I needed. I was (and still am) a little bit worried about the increased risk of infections with these types of lenses but providing you get regular checks and take out the lenses if they start to become uncomfortable, then hopefully there shouldn't be any problems. They also sounded good as I'm pregnant and when baby ...

Nice to See You, To See You Nice

Advantages: Dont need changing for 30 days
Disadvantages: Expensive

...lenses until I heard about Focus Night and Day lenses. My friend had been wearing them ever since they first became available in the UK and had nothing but praise for them. They are recommended for allergy suffers, people with active lifestyles and people who have difficulties putting in and taking out contact lenses. They are a fairly new type of lens on the market that allow continuous wear for up to 30 days. I’m sure that anyone who has ever ...
...with the world in soft focus again. You don’t realise how quickly you get used to having 20/20 vision. Focus Night and Day are not suitable for everyone, but most contact lens wearers should be OK with them. They are suitable for a wide range of prescriptions. They are not cheap. Dolland and Aitcherson charge £25 a month for them, and prices tend to range from £20 - £30 amongst other opticians. But in my book £25 for 20/20 vision, freedom and not ...

I can see in my sleep!!

Advantages: Convenience, no cleaning, sleep in them
Disadvantages: Fairly expensive

OK,I am far too much of a baby to have laser eye treatment….. so I had to find the next best alternative. After recovering from the devastation of being told I needed glasses when I was 8 years old, I finally progressed on to Contact lenses when I was 23. I have worn monthly disposable contact lenses for about the last 6 years, courtesy of Dolland and Achinson (feel free to read my review on them!). Though I found my monthly disposable lenses amazingly ...
...a little unsatisfied. I needed something more from them. The daily ritual of removing and cleaning my lenses had begun to get to me. Especially after nights out and quite a few drinks, when I'm not sure its safe to try poking fingers in eyes. There were times when I wished I could just go to bed and close my eyes without the fear of not being able to open them in the morning because my lenses had dried up (It only happened once!!!) I remembered ...

I Can See Clearly Now

Advantages: Convenient, can leave them in for 30 days.
Disadvantages: More expensive than normal lenses.

...from Black and Lizar’s advertising Focus Night and Day contact lenses. By coincidence I was going to the optician that day for a checkup so I asked about them right away. They’re currently offering a months free trial on these lenses. The optician ordered them for me on the Saturday, and phoned to say I could collect them on the Tuesday. These lenses look exactly like normal disposable lenses. They’re round and curved to fit the shape of your eye. ...
...be OK with them and you should check with your optician to find out for sure. Wearing Focus Night and Day contact lenses is definitely a more convenient way of wearing contact lenses. It’s one less thing to worry about – which is something I think we all need. ...

Night Vision!

Advantages: Whenever your eyes are open you have perfect vison
Disadvantages: A costly convenience

...He mentioned the new Focus All Day All Night contact lenses that were now available. This is just as simple as it sounds - yip you got it - you wear these lenses all day and all night. This interested me immensely let me tell you. Without further ado my optician handed me a pair in my new prescription. He said to put them in and forget about them for a maximum of 30 days. This sounded way too easy but i was really looking forward to trying them. ...
...in i opened these new Focus All Day All Night lenses and put them in. The actual lenses looked just like my previous soft contact lenses but on closer examination there was a slight difference. These ones were totally clear whereas my others had been a blue tinge making them easier to see. But then i thought to myself that i only need to see these twice!! Once to put them in and once to take them out!! I also noticed that these new lenses were ultra ...

Continuous perfect vision without surgery

Advantages: Comfortable, excellent vision and minimal maintenance
Disadvantages: Expensive, extra aftercare (ie optician appointments) required

...(dreadful), 1-Day Acuvue (good) and Focus Dailies (mediocre). Unfortunately, the length of time I could comfortably wear any daily disposable started to decrease. Eventually, I was down to about 10 hours a day. I'd read about Focus Night and Day, and knew they were made of a more breathable silicone hydrogel. This new material lets 5 times move oxygen into your eyes compared to soft contact lenses which rely on water content to get the oxygen to ...
...case and filling it with Focus Aqua solution. I immediately noticed that my eyes were much more comfortable, even wearing the lenses for all my waking hours (14-16 hours). I also noticed that the whites of my eyes were much whiter, without the general pinkness I was getting from one-day lenses. This is because now my eyes were getting more oxygen, the new blood vessels that had formed were no longer needed. I'm not sure if the blood vessels actually ...

Hello World!!

Advantages: You need never wear glasses again!
Disadvantages: Slightly more expensive than regular contact lenses

...one fine day I discovered Focus Day and Night lenses and I was given a free months trial at Specsavers. Absolutely fantastic! I could not believe that I would be able to go straight to bed at night and not have to worry about taking my lenses out. I almost half expected my eyes not to open the next morning. But of course they did, and it was truly wonderful. Just to be able to see first thing in the morning when you wake up, is so fantastic. And ...

The best soft contact lenses I've ever worn

Advantages: Very comfortable to wear and healthier for the eye
Disadvantages: More expensive than alernative soft lenses

I've been a soft contact lense wearer since 1996 and can remember back then feeling very pleased to have crystal sharp vision without the need for specs. These were for long term daily use but as I recall quite dense and heavy increasing my awareness of their presence in my eyes. However as the years went by I disposed of these in favour of monthly disposables which I found had a definite increase in comfort. They were a lot thinner although still ...
...was I would often fall asleep to find the lense stuck to my eye - an all too easy habit most lense wearers would have experienced from time to time. About three years ago I discovered the CIBA Vision Night and day extended wear lenses. What is unique about these lenses is you can go for up to 30 days of continuous wear without the need to keep taking them out and cleaning them everyday. This also of course means you are able to sleep in them - and ...

Focus Night & Day Contact Lenses

Advantages: Being able to see 24 hours a day!
Disadvantages: quite expensive

I wore glasses for about 2 years before deciding that not being able to see in the rain was more trouble than enough. I was always squeamish about eyes so I wasn't too sure if I could cope with poking myself in the eyes every morning & evening. Finding out I could get lenses that I leave in continuously for a month encouraged we make the change. I have never worn contact lenses before so I can't compare Night & Day lenses so any other type but I ...
...I was worried about potential damage to my eyes but the optician explained that these lenses allow much more oxygen through to the eyes than other types which makes them safe to leave in for so long. One of my colleagues uses standard soft lenses and has to wear glasses in the morning and put her lenses in at lunchtime if she is planning a night out. I have to admit to being very glad I don't have to worry about that I went to Specsavers for my ...
