    Advantages Advantages Free, fun

Disadvantages Disadvantages No prizes - but to be fair, it's free so what do you expect?

At the beginning of the football season I signed up to join the departmental fantasy football league and since then I've become something of the resident expert on the game, so I thought I'd write this review, though may just be a poor excuse to brag about how well my team is doing! ;-D Oh, and I'll be assuming a basic knowledge of football here, so apologies if I lose you from the off! GETTING STARTED We play via a website, www.fantasy.premierleague.com, which is apparently the official website of the premier league and currently has over 700,000 registered teams. To get a team you must first ... more

I would just like to write a review on the fantasy football league that I have just joined on the internet, through being invited by one of my closest friends to do so. Now before I carry on, although I know hwo to play theh game and have heard of some of the teams or players that are involved - that is as far as I go. The only way I chose my own team was by simply picking the names that I knew the most, and then just picking one or two by chance to fill up the spaces! Most fantasy football leagues are the same, but the one that I have become involved in is actually on the main official site ... more

Advantages Advantages Added Spice to the Premiership Season

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Potentially time consuming

For the last three or four years I have been doing a fantasy football team for the premiership season. Originally I started doing it in the newspaper, but now I use the internetbased site www.fantasyleague.com. I have tried other online leagues which are less expensive or free, but I still think this is the best value for money. Fantasy League used to do (may even still do) the fantasy football section in the Times and/or the Telegraph and now have a whole suite of fantasy games online. The basic fantasy football game is the "Classic" game on the site. There is also "Pro" and "Champions ... more

Advantages Advantages You learn about lots of different teams

Disadvantages Disadvantages time consuming if you get too serious

Lets face it, FOOTBALL, love it or hate it, invades everybodys lives. It is a form of tribal warfare, were people wear their colours and vent their fears, anxieties and anger. But if you love this beautiful game then Fantasy Football gives you an insight from a managers perspective. The overall idea of the game is this, you are a football team manager, you have a set amount of money to buy a team following certain rules ie, no 2 players from one team or players from the premiership only. Each player has a set value and you will have to purchase a goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders and strikers ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good Fun

Disadvantages Disadvantages None if your interested in football

Fantasy Football, what’s it ALL about This season I decided to have a go at Fantasy Football, I looked at a few that in the papers and also on the Internet. In the end I decided to put a team in a Super League in the Daily Telegraph as it offered both the weekly paper updates and the chance to transfer players on the Internet. The cost to join was five pounds which included the Internet transfer option. There has to be minimum of five teams in a super league. By the way you also pay extra money to be able to view the player’s weekly scores on the Internet. You could either register your team ... more

Advantages Advantages Fun, competitive and big prizes to be won

Disadvantages Disadvantages can sometimes be expensive or time consuming

The beautiful game is loved by 100's of millions of people around the world and I bet more than half of them have thought that they could be better than Ferguson or more tactical than Trappatoni. Well now they can. Football fantasy leagues are all over the place, especially at the start of the season and even more so this summer due to the upcoming European Championships. They can be entered in daily newspapers or on the internet. The main aim is to pick a team out of all the players that are available to you and staying within a specified budget. Each player will have a certain value and you ... more
